Windows 11 gets new AI-powered features in latest update — here's 4 tools to try out now
The new Windows 11 update is rolling out now, and it includes a new AI agent in Windows Settings that allows users to find and change settings by describing what they need, a Relight feature in the Photos app to adjust lighting with just a click, more tools in Click To Do and a perfect screenshot feature in the Snipping Tool.
There's also Copilot Vision that's now available in the U.S., featuring the Highlights tool that lets Microsoft's AI provide contextual help on specific tasks, showing you how to carry out activities within an app or browser. This will be available in the Copilot app by clicking the glasses icon.
Not all Copilot+ PCs are getting these updates straightaway: Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs get these AI features first, with support on Intel and AMD devices coming down the line.
Other features are set to arrive soon, including Microsoft's Copilot Vision AI being able to see your whole desktop. But for now, update your Windows 11 PC and find out what the latest Windows 11 update brings to Copilot+ PCs.
Thanks to a new AI agent, you can now change settings in Windows 11 on the fly by asking what you want adjusted instead of scrolling through the Settings app.
Using Windows' first agent for Copilot+ PCs, you can describe what you want to change in settings in the search box in the Settings app. This works on a range of customizable settings, including displays, connectivity and accessbility.

For example, you can ask "change my resolution to 1920x1080" for your display, or "connect Bluetooth device" to find and connect headphones or a speaker to your PC — now all in Settings.
The agent will offer recommendations and even actions to change the settings of your choice with a simple click, and there's also the option to undo any setting that's changed using the agent.

And that's it. If the agent isn't able to understand or change the described settings, a Windows search option will pop up instead with the relevant info.
Right now, this is only available on Snapdragon X Series-powered Copilot+ PCs, but Intel and AMD PCs will get this feature soon.
Microsoft is also adding a new Relight feature that works in the Photos app, which aims to add professional lighting controls to snaps. It makes adjusting lighting in any photo easier, which will be helpful to anyone looking to spruce up their pictures.
Relight lets you place up to 3 virtual light sources in photos, which can be placed anywhere. You can adjust the light's intensity, color and position using sliders, too, or select presets such as "Studio Portrait" and "Cinematic Glow."

Similar to the agent in Settings, this is only available in PCs with Snapdragon X Series CPUs for now, with Intel and AMD-equipped Copilot+ PCs getting it later.
Windows 11's Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs is already available, but there are now new actions to help you get through everyday tasks aside from analyzing text and offering contextual actions.
Here's a look at the features you can try out now, which can all be done by pressing Windows key + mouse click, Windows key + Q or using the Snipping Tool and selecting text.
These new features on Click to Do are currently available for Windows 11 users in English, except for those in Europe.
Windows 11's Snipping Tool is also getting an upgrade, this time adding two features. This includes perfect screenshot and color picker.
Both options are now available as part of the latest update, with buttons added to the Snipping Tool toolbar. Perfect screenshot will automatically crop and resize what's captured on screen based on the content shown (for example, focusing on an app rather than the entire screen), while color picker can capture the color code of what's inspected.
You can do each by bringing up the Snipping Tool or capturing a screenshot using the Print Screen shortcut (Windows Key + Print Screen or Windows key + Fn + Print Screen).
Remember, many of these features are only available on Snapdragon X Series Copilot+ PCs right now (which are among the best laptops), with other Intel and AMD PCs getting the features soon, according to Microsoft.

It isn't developing its own generative AI model; instead, it's offering many of the leading ones on its cloud computing platform, Azure. Developers can choose from OpenAI's ChatGPT, a leading option, Meta Platforms' Llama, DeepSeek's R1 (a more affordable alternative from China), or xAI's Grok, a company founded by Elon Musk. By offering a wide range of generative AI models, Microsoft isn't locking its clients into a single provider. This has made Azure a top choice for building AI models on, which is why it has outgrown its peers in recent quarters. We'll get an update on how the other cloud computing providers -- namely Alphabet's Google Cloud and Amazon's Amazon Web Services (AWS) -- in the next few weeks, but I'd be shocked if Azure isn't growing quicker than they are. It trades at 28 times trailing earnings and grew revenue at a 16% pace during its last quarter with 36% earnings-per-share growth. That's a cheaper stock growing faster, which should cause Microsoft investors to question whether it's the best big tech stock to be in right now. Numerous other big tech stocks have better growth numbers and cheaper valuations than Microsoft. Although it's a dominant company, it's starting to look a bit expensive compared to its peers. You can now unlock AMD's FSR 4 upscaling on even more games
AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling is no longer limited to a short list of supported game titles. Thanks to a recent update to OptiScaler, Radeon RX 9000 series GPU users can now enable FSR 4 in virtually any game that uses DirectX 11 or 12. OptiScaler is an open-source utility that allows you to swap a game's existing upscaler with a more advanced version. For instance, if a game supports an older upscaling method like FSR 2, OptiScaler can intercept that and substitute it with FSR 4 instead. This gives players access to the latest upscaling technology, even in games that haven't officially been updated to support it. Recommended Videos Simply put, PC gamers can now bring FSR 4, AMD's latest and most advanced image upscaling technology, to previously unsupported games. These include ones that originally shipped with FSR 2, DLSS 2, or Intel XeSS, with no input required from game developers. While this isn't an official method endorsed by AMD, OptiScaler only modifies local game installation files. Hence, there's little risk involved as long as you stick to single-player titles and back up your game folders. Requirements and limitations Before we explain how to enable FSR 4 using OptiScaler, there are certain requirements you need to meet: GPU compatibility : FSR 4 is exclusively supported on AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series (RDNA 4) GPUs, including the RX 9060 and RX 9070 series. Per-game setup: OptiScaler needs to be configured manually for each game as there is no universal toggle. How to enable FSR 4 in your games Force enabling FSR 4 via OptiScaler requires a few manual steps for each game. All you need to do is copy special FSR 4 library files into a game's installation folder and configure OptiScaler to use it as the upscaler. While that may sound easy, it can be a little tricky so here's a step-by-step guide: Download the latest release of OptiScaler from its official GitHub page. No special installation is required, simply extract all the files into a folder. Make sure you are updated to the latest AMD Radeon graphics drivers. Head over to your game's main install directory and find the folder that includes the game's executable or .EXE file. Copy all the OptiScaler files that you previously extracted into this location and accept any prompts for replacing existing files. Once the OptiScaler files are copied into your game's directory (which includes the game executable), double click on the file named OptiScaler Setup or alternatively Windows Setup. A Windows Security prompt should appear, which you can bypass by clicking on Run Anyway. A command prompt-based setup for OptiScaler should fire up immediately where you need to select a filename for the new OptiScaler DLL file, followed by which GPU you are using since the tool works with Nvidia, AMD and Intel GPUs. There will also be an option to choose DLSS-based inputs, which is not necessary if the game already supports FSR 3 or above. Once all the selection is done, OptiScaler will be installed for your game. To set up OptiScaler, launch your game and bring up the OptiScaler in-game overlay by pressing the Insert key on your keyboard. Within OptiScaler you will have the option to select the upscaler you wish to use. To enable FSR 4, first select FSR 3x from the drop down menu and hit the Change Upscaler button. You should now have FSR 4 enabled with a dedicated settings tab within the tool. Unfortunately there is no universal installer meaning that one has to perform these steps for each game individually. In practice, copy the essential files into the new game's folder and configure OptiScaler the same way. Each title gets its own OptiScaler setup. In case you are not able to run FSR 4, head over to the OptiScaler GitHub Wiki page for more information. Once you've followed the steps and replaced the necessary files, the game will render using FSR 4, which should deliver improved image quality and higher frame rates compared to older upscaling versions. However, don't expect performance on par with NVIDIA's DLSS, which still holds a clear advantage in both visual fidelity and AI-driven upscaling. While OptiScaler's approach is somewhat of a workaround, it effectively extends FSR 4's availability from a limited number of officially supported titles to potentially hundreds of DirectX 11 and 12 games. That said, performance and visual improvements may vary from game to game depending on engine compatibility, asset quality, and how the original upscaling implementation was handled, so your mileage may vary.
