Meet Rory McIlroy's billionaire neighbor with 7,000 cars, 39 tigers and $15K haircut habit

Rory McIlroy had added a posh $9 million mansion to his portfolio of homes, and while the UK neighborhood is packed with plenty of wealthy figures, there's one neighbor in particular who leads an opulent lifestyle that's gonna be hard for the 2025 Masters champion to contend with.
The professional golfer, 36, and his wife, Erica Stoll, 37, purchased the luxury Wentworth estate back in 2023 after announcing that they wanted to leave the US for a quieter life in the UK. The couple has been living in a $11 million mansion in the iconic Bear's Club Community in Juniper, Florida, since 2012.
After winning the 2025 Masters back in April, McIlroy, who is originally from Northern Ireland, brought his wife and their daughter, Poppy, 4, along to check the status of the renovations. The couple reportedly spent several million dollars on the construction of their dream home.
"We came back a few weeks ago and moved into our new home in Wentworth and been since trying to settle in, and it's amazing what two weeks of a bit of detachment can do for you, and sitting there being with your own thoughts for a while," McIlroy told The Telegraph on July 9.
"There's a detachment from the sort of week-in, week-out grind when you get back over here," he said regarding his new pad. "You play PGA Tour golf for the first 25, 30 weeks of the year, and you need to completely get away from it—because this world of golf can become all-encompassing."
"In this last fortnight, I felt like I could detach and sort of hide in a way. I needed that. My game needed that."

The estate is housed in an area with several other high-profile names, including Elton John and British singer and actor Cliff Richard.
However, billionaire Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, 79, who lives next door, takes the cake for having one of the highest net worths at an estimated $30 billion, per Celebrity Net Worth.
According to the "Mirror," the Sultan owns over 7,000 cars, including more than 500 Rolls-Royces, as well as a private zoo that boasts 30 Bengal tigers and an extensive range of exotic birds.
When you reach billionaire status, good haircuts clearly become a priority, as the outlet reports that McIlroy's new neighbor dishes out over $20,000 (USD) to regularly fly his personal barber, who works at London's Dorchester Hotel, out for a trim.

Bolkiah was crowned the Sultan of Brunei in 1968 and is now the longest-reigning monarch in the world, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
He primarily resides in the Istana Nurul Iman in Brunei, a residence considered the world's largest palace, boasting a staggering 1,788 rooms. In addition to his role as Prime Minister of Brunei, the Sultan also holds several other positions in finance and defense.

The 3M Open's Best Contenders

BLAINE, MINNESOTA - JULY 27: Matt Kuchar of the United States acknowledges the crowd after holing ... More out on the 18th holeduring the third round of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities on July 27, 2024 in Blaine, Minnesota. (Photo by) Heavy rains batter TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN, halting Wednesday's Pro-Am and further softening an already wet course. The saturated fairways, receptive greens, and thick rough at TPC Twin Cities will favor long hitters even more this year than in the past. Previous winners include Tony Finau, Cameron Champ, and Matt Wolff. Last year's winner, Jhonattan Vegas, ranks 41st in driving distance on the longer side of the PGA Tour. The 3M Open features its strongest field in years, with World No. 11 Maverick McNealy, No. 22 Sam Burns, No. 24 Chris Gotterup, and No. 29 Sungjae Im all in the lineup. Sam Burns may seem the obvious favorite as both a long hitter and solid putter, but he has played the tournament just twice in the past five years, finishing T-12 and T-32. McNealy, meanwhile, has a stronger track record at the event, with a 3rd-place finish and a T-16. Chris Gotterup enters on a hot streak after winning the Scottish Open and finishing third at The Open Championship. While he has two previous appearances at the 3M Open without a top-25 finish, his power off the tee makes him well suited to the softened course. However, back-to-back high-pressure weeks could lead to fatigue. PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 03: Keith Mitchell of the United States plays a shot from a ... More bunker during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach Golf Links on February 03, 2024 in Pebble Beach, California. (Photo by) Keith Mitchell has had a lukewarm season but currently ranks 13th in strokes gained off the tee. A rare visitor to Minnesota, Mitchell needs a strong performance to stay on track for the FedEx Cup Playoffs in Memphis. While his putting has been cold, a few hot rounds could make him a legitimate contender. Hometown favorite Franky Capan III returns to the field. He made the cut in a previous 3M Open appearance and, following a strong 2024 season on the Korn Ferry Tour, expectations are high for him to do the same or better this year. When choosing a potential winner at this year's 3M Open, lean heavily on driving and putting stats. Birdies are a must. With wind expected to pick up on Saturday and Sunday and the course playing soft, performance off the tee will be critical.

Ozzy Osbourne's Hilarious F1 Interview With Brundle Resurfaces After His Death

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Former Formula One driver and presenter Martin Brundle's hilarious grid walk interview with Ozzy Osbourne from the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix has resurfaced online after Osbourne passed away on July 22nd in the UK. Osbourne was the lead singer of the heavy metal group Black Sabbath, whose battle with Parkinson's disease since 2019 was no secret. He performed with his band for the last time on July 5, marking the end of an era. A crowd of 40,000 fans watched him in Birmingham, with the concert raising £140 million (approximately $190 million), reportedly for charity. Brundle's grid walk interviews with celebrities have been unexpected at times, given the hustle and bustle on the grid just before a grand prix. A video of him approaching Osbourne on YouTube has had fans laughing and paying tribute to the late celebrity. The video shows Brundle trying to make his way through the crowd to reach Osbourne before calling him a "fruitcake." He said: British rock star Ozzy Osbourne chats with Scottish race car driver Jackie Stewart of Jaguar before the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, on June 15, 2003 in Montreal, Canada. British rock star Ozzy Osbourne chats with Scottish race car driver Jackie Stewart of Jaguar before the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, on June 15, 2003 in Montreal, Canada."I want to have a word with this guy because he's an utter fruitcake, as we all know, and we love watching him on TV." When Brundle does manage to reach him, he asks: "Ozzy, British TV. Good to see you here. "Sharon (Osbourne's wife) had some good news this week, I hear." Osbourne's reply was incomprehensible to Brundle, but he likely said: "I'm good in currently we're writing a musical about the life and times of Rasputin the mad monk, and we just got allowing it to go on Broadway." Brundle replied swiftly, "All right, I'll try and think of a question for that answer. Did you bring the dogs with you?" Osbourne replied: "No they're all at home "sh*tt*ng." Brundle smiled and walked away, saying: "Excellent, thank you very much. I think we'll move on now." Given Osbourne's replies, it is unclear if he was suffering with his well known health conditions or if he was having some fun with Brundle. Fans have reacted to the video, remembering Osbourne after his passing. Some comments are quoted below: A teary-eyed fan: "I'm going to miss him. RIP Ozzy <3" A fan's last tribute: "ALL HAIL THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS!!!! 🦇👑" This fan had an explanation: "Brundle wants to talk to Ozzy because he thinks Ozzy will make a fool of himself. Brundle asks about whats new. Ozzy tells about whats new. Brundle pretends to not have asked about whats new, then preceeds to make fun of Ozzy. Ozzy tells Brundle off in a slightly more polite way than he needs to. Brundle walks away, saying this wasnt very interesting." [sic] Our thoughts are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time.

Liverpool signs Ekitiké from Frankfurt and takes offseason spending to $342 million

Liverpool signed France forward Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday to continue the Premier League champion's offseason spending spree. Ekitiké is Liverpool's latest big-money signing after Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez — taking its outlay to around $342 million. The 23-year-old Ekitiké has joined for a fee of 69 million pounds ($93.5 million) and signed a six-year contract, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. The person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because details have not been made public, said the fee could rise by a further 10 million pounds ($13.5 million). Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been busy strengthening a team that won its record-equaling 20th English league title last season — in particular in attack. Wirtz, signed from Bayer Leverkusen last month for a fee that could rise to a British record 116 million pounds ($156 million), is considered one of the brightest talents in Europe. And Etikité is another player who has shone in Germany after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last year. He scored 22 in 48 appearances in his one full season with Frankfurt, which has made a big profit on him after buying him for a reported $19 million last year. Ekitiké's move comes weeks after Liverpool forward Diogo Jota died in a car accident in Spain. There is uncertainty about the future of other Liverpool forwards Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, who have both been targeted by teams in Europe during the offseason. The Merseyside club has not retained a league title since winning three in a row between 1982 and '84, which was before the inception of the Premier League. It is likely to face challenges from Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, who have all been active in the transfer market since the end of the season. Ekitiké is the latest big-money departure from Frankfurt after forward Omar Marmoush joined Man City for a reported $73 million in January. Marmoush was the team's top-scorer at the time, but Ekitiké responded with his best performances in a Frankfurt shirt to help the team finish third in the Bundesliga for Champions League qualification. ___ James Robson is at ___ AP soccer:
