'Drishyam'-Style Murder Near Mumbai. Wife Hides Husband's Body Under Tiles
According to the reports, the husband, 35-year-old Vijay Chavan, had been missing for the last 15 days. He lived with his 28-year-old wife Komal Chavan in the Gadgapada area of Nalasopara East, about 70 kilometres from Mumbai.
On Monday morning, Vijay's brothers, who had been searching for him, visited his house. There, they realised some floor tiles did not match the colour of the rest. Growing suspicious, they removed the differently-coloured tiles, only to find a vest buried underneath and a foul odour. They immediately informed the police.
Their worst fear came true, and cops found their brother's body buried under the tiles.
The cops suspect that Vijay Chavan has been murdered by Komal, who has also been missing for two days, along with a neighbour, Monu. The two are allegedly in a romantic relationship and now prime suspects in the case.

Raja Raghuvanshi murder case to be made into film titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong'
A film based on the sensational murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi is in the works, his family announced on Monday. Tentatively titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong', the film will trace the events leading up to his death during a trip to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam, who is one of the prime accused in the announcement was made during a press conference held at the Raghuvanshi residence in Indore. Raja's elder brother Sachin Raghuvanshi said the family had given their consent for the film to ensure that the truth reaches the public. "If we do not bring the story of my brother's murder to the big screen, people will not be able to know who was right and who was wrong," he brother, Vipin, added that the film would also help present a balanced image of Meghalaya, which has been drawn into the spotlight following the crime. The film is being directed by SP Nimbawat, who said the project aims to highlight how betrayal can have deadly consequences. "Through our film, we want to give a message to the public that such incidents of betrayal should be stopped," he said. Nimbawat confirmed that the script is complete, with 80 per cent of the shoot planned in Indore and the rest in parts of Meghalaya."Through the film Honeymoon in Shillong we want to give society a message. We want to make this film so that whatever happened to Raja, doesn't happen to anyone else. We are going to get Bollywood actors and the script is more or less ready. Around 20 per cent of the movie will be shot in Shillong. The main angle of the film will be the fight scene - how he was killed and what he suffered. The movie is slated for a worldwide release," said Raghuvanshi had travelled to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam in May. He went missing soon after, and on June 2, his mutilated body was recovered from a deep gorge near a waterfall in Sohra (Cherrapunji) in East Khasi Hills district. Police arrested eight people, including Sonam and her suspected lover, Raj Kushwaha. Three of the accused have been granted Raghuvanshi, in a statement to reporters, said the family suspects more than five people were involved in the conspiracy. He claimed Sonam attempted to mislead police about her movements after the murder and that she had been in frequent contact with Raj Kushwaha in the days following Raja's death. "Had Raj been innocent, he wouldn't be talking to Sonam for hours," Vipin said, alleging that Sonam was sheltering in Raj's hometown when she was also expressed frustration over Sonam's background not being fully disclosed before the marriage. Their sudden disappearance triggered a massive search operation by Delhi Police and their counterparts in Maharashtra. It all started with a gaming app friend According to the police, the boys had been chatting with a person named Wahid from Jalna in Maharashtra via an online gaming platform. Wahid had claimed that he had once met Salman Khan and could possibly arrange a meeting with the actor. Believing him, the boys hatched a plan to visit Jalna and then head to Mumbai to meet the superstar. They left their homes on 25 July without informing their families, which led to panic among their parents and a missing persons report being filed. Left a note behind During the early stages of investigation, police discovered a handwritten note at one of the boys' homes. The note clearly mentioned their intention to meet Wahid in Jalna. This became the first major lead in the case. Further investigation through CCTV footage revealed visuals of the boys near Ajmeri Gate, indicating that they might have travelled to New Delhi Railway Station to board a train. Based on train schedules and possible travel routes, police suspected that the boys had taken the Sachkhand Express, from Delhi to Maharashtra. Phone signal helps trace missing children When Wahid found out the police were involved and the boys' families were searching for them, he backed out of the meeting. The boys then dropped their plan to visit Jalna and got off the train in Nashik. Though Wahid couldn't be contacted, brief phone activity helped police trace the boys. Delhi Police reportedly joined hands with Railway Police and Maharashtra police to search multiple locations. Finally, on Tuesday, four days after they went missing, the boys were found safe at a railway station in Nashik. Safe return for the young Salman Khan fans Thankfully, all three minors were safe and unharmed when found. They were brought under police protection and arrangements were made to send them back to Delhi.

Two days before retirement, Daya Nayak promoted to ACP
MUMBAI: Senior police inspector Daya Nayak, who gained recognition as an 'encounter specialist' in the 1990s, was promoted to assistant commissioner of police on Tuesday, two days before his retirement. Nayak, who heads Unit 9 of the Mumbai crime branch, is scheduled to retire on July 31. Two days before retirement, Daya Nayak promoted to ACP Along with Nayak, senior inspectors Jeevan Kharat, Deepak Dalvi, and Pandurang Pawar, who are also set to retire on Thursday, were promoted too. Nayak, who joined the force in 1995 as an officer at the Juhu police station, gained recognition for gunning down several gangsters in police encounters. He has shot around 87 gangsters, including criminals linked to the likes of Dawood Ibrahim, Arun Gawli, Amar Naik and Chhota Rajan. His career has inspired Bollywood films such as Ab Tak Chhappan and Department. In 2006, Nayak was suspended after the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested him following allegations by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar that he owned assets disproportionate to his known source of income. He was reinstated in the police force in 2012, after the Supreme Court quashed all the charges against him. Nayak was more recently involved in investigating high-profile cases such as the firing outside actor Salman Khan's house, the killing of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique, and the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. He was also part of the team that solved the Antilia bomb scare case and the subsequent murder of businessman Mansukh Hiren in 2021.
