Gorakhpur: A school teacher was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a stone grinder by her husband over financial dispute in Devarajpararea under Urwa police station, police said on Tuesday evening.
The deceased identified as Asha, who worked at Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya in Gola, was killed in front of her son by her husband Ravi Pratap, who has since been arrested.
According to police, Ravi, who runs a small medical store in his village, had been pressuring Asha to give him half of her monthly salary. Their son Ujjwal, an eyewitness to the crime, told police that his father frequently demanded money, claiming his business wasn't running well.
Asha reportedly gave him Rs 5,000 every month, but he had recently started demanding Rs15,000.
The deceased's brother Santosh Kumar said the couple had married in 2012 and Asha had even financed her husband's medical store. On Monday afternoon, after returning from school, Asha was assaulted during an argument and later brutally killed. Neighabours intervened to save the couple's son.
Urwa SHO Shyamdev Chaudhary confirmed that Ravi Pratap has been arrested and sent to jail.

He lost to her by over 18,000 votes.

Agra: A 32-year-old man was allegedly killed by his brother-in-law, who is absconding, and his friend seriously injured in Aligarh's Nanau village under the jurisdiction of Akrabad police station on Wednesday morning after a dispute over Rs 5,000 escalated into a stabbing. Police said Vineet Kumar, a resident of Nagla Kothi in Harduaganj, had gone to visit his sister in Nanau village along with his friend, Shailendra Singh, 25. While at the house, an argument broke out between Vineet and his brother-in-law, Manvinder Singh Kumar, 40, over a financial dispute. Vineet allegedly owed Rs 5,000 to Manvinder, who had been demanding repayment. The quarrel escalated, and Manvinder, under the influence of alcohol, allegedly attacked Vineet and Shailendra with a knife. Both men were seriously injured and were initially taken to the community health centre in Akrabad, then shifted to JN Medical College.
