Zara Tindall eats one food that is proven to keep your cholesterol down

Daily Mirror04-05-2025

Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne, has been competing in equestrian events for more than two decades and has previously opened up on the diet she follows to stay in shape
Former equestrian star Zara Tindall has shared her secret to maintaining an Olympic standard in her day-to-day life. And she revealed her breakfast often includes one particular food known for its cholesterol-lowering benefits.
The accomplished daughter of Princess Anne has competed in eventing since she left the University of Exeter. And her sporting career bore great fruit after she won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics as part of the equestrian team aboard High Kingdom.

Since being catapulted into the limelight, beloved royal Tindall (formerly Phillips) tied the knot with ex- England rugby star Mike Tindall in 2011. Although she hasn't returned to the Olympic stage since her 2012 success, the 43-year-old continues to compete at an elite level and once attributed her peak physical condition to a disciplined diet.

"For breakfast, I'll eat something like Greek yoghurt with honey, a piece of fruit, or toast," she told The Sunday Times Magazine (via Surrey Live) in 2015. "Lunch is quick and simple, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast. I don't diet, but I try to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things."
Echoing the advice of the British Heart Foundation, Tindall's choice of Greek yoghurt over regular yoghurt or milk is a sensible one given its higher protein content. Not only that, but the former also has a lower sugar content, and the thicker consistency means many people find it more filling, which helps stave off food cravings.
Greek yoghurt is not only a fantastic source of protein and calcium, but studies also indicate the nutrient blend in such dairy products may help slash the risk of heart and circulatory diseases. Opting for a low-fat Greek yoghurt is a smart move as it's believed to keep cholesterol level down due to its reduced saturated fat content compared to its full-fat counterpart.
Her favoured lunchtime choice of eggs and toast provides a very rounded balance of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. The majority of fat content in eggs is located in the yolk, which also gives a good dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

When it comes to steering clear of sugary treats, the NHS advises cutting down on foods and drinks packed with free sugars. That means avoiding items like fizzy drinks, cakes, sweets, and biscuits will help maintain a healthier, more balanced diet.
On top of eating right, Zara believes her fitness routine help keep her in top form for riding. It was announced in December 2023 that she was going 'part-time' in equestrian so that she could focus on being more present for her three children.
Post-pregnancy, however, she confessed how tough it was to bounce back into shape after welcoming her first child, Mia. Body image and mental health issues post-partum are common, but Tindall lifted the lid on what helped her regain her self-confidence.
"It is hard getting your body back when you've been riding for 25 years," she said during an appearance on hubby Mike's YouTube series, 'Mike Drop'. "Then your body is just completely not doing that, and your muscles are doing nothing.
"But it's just completely different, trying to get your body back to where it was quite. . .I found hard work. I found it hard getting myself back to it. Mentally, you feel guilty as a mother leaving your child to go and do something else."

Simone Biles calls out Kylie Jenner: 'This is a crime!'

Simone Biles has won seven Olympic gold medals - but performing a perfect routine is apparently easier than finding a jacket that fits. The 28-year-old gymnast, who stands at just 4ft8in, snapped a picture of herself trying on a blazer from Kylie Jenner 's clothing range, sharing her hilarious response to how ill-fitting it was. In the picture, Biles was seen posing in the merlot colored faux-leather from the Khy by Kylie Jenner collection, with the enormous jacket falling near her knees and the sleeves extending well past her hands. 'Ms. Kylie Jenner this is a crime!!!!!!' the Olympian wrote on her Instagram Stories, along with a series of laughing emojis. 'This is not an XXS/XS,' she complained. The next post showed Gigi Hadid wearing a Vetements x Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, which had been edited to look massive. 'This is me on the last slide. SICK,' she jokingly wrote on the picture. Khy By Kylie runs from sizes XXS to a 4X, and while the blazer - which retails for $138 - is described as a 'boxy, ultra-oversized blazer' online, it is still a tad too big for Biles. Fashion-loving Biles is known for her bold fashion choices. The athlete, along with her NFL-star husband Jonathan Owens, recently had fans divided over their interesting outfit choice. The pair stepped out of Metropolitan Museum of Art for the glamorous annual fashion event, with Biles donning a tailored blue mini dress with a white collar and a huge flowing blue train. Owens chose an all-white suit with a matching fur cape and a black cane to fit the 'Superfine' theme. This year's Met Gala theme, titled 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style', was an homage to menswear centered around 'sartorial style' in forming Black identities, with a focus on the 'Black dandy' - the 18th-century looks analyzed in Monica L. Miller's 2009 book 'Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.' The petite athlete loves to experiment with texture and fabric - and has even worn a a leather blazer before. In December 2024, Biles looked chic as she arrived in at NBC Studios for the Kelly Clarkson Show in New York City in an all-black ensemble. The fashionista sported a black leather blazer and a matching skirt as she was escorted into the building by security guards. She also accessorized with a black fuzzy bucket hat and two silver necklaces to compliment the all-black ensemble. Last week, the athlete was spotted wearing a a bikini from Kim Kardashian's SKIMS brand, combining her Olympic success with her love of fashion. She snapped a mirror selfie of herself sporting a red and white-trimmed bikini top which had the logo of the US Olympic Committee on it, which appears to be part of a collection from SKIMS. According to Sportskeeda, Biles traveled to Hong Kong to give a speech at investment bank UBS' 28th Asian Investment Conference. Biles spoke to 600 young athletes from community sports organizations within the city, including gymnastics clubs. Throughout the trip, Biles showed off her various outfits - including another red ensemble, this time from Athleta.
