Jalen Hurts is a Super Bowl champion, and thanks to Derek Jeter, the Eagles quarterback is one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People in the just-released list.

I admire how great athletes deal with both success and failure. What Jalen Hurts went through in being benched during the 2018 National Championship game would break a lot of people down. But not Jalen; he focused on what he could control and found a new path to success. In the NFL, Jalen didn't let a Super Bowl defeat in 2023 shake his confidence. He used that loss as motivation and kept a picture of himself walking off the field after losing as his phone lock screen.
This past February, Jalen found himself on the Super Bowl stage again. This time he led Philadelphia to a convincing victory in its rematch with Kansas City. We connected shortly after, and the only thing he asked about was insight on going back and winning again. Sometimes people win, then exhale. Jalen is not exhaling. He's embracing the next challenge. Win or lose, Jalen's resilience and determination offer all of us something to admire.
Hurts, crowned Super Bowl LIX MVP, became just the second quarterback in Eagles history to deliver a Super Bowl to the City of Philadelphia, joining Nick Foles (Super Bowl LII MVP). According to Elias Sports, Hurts is only the seventh NFL quarterback to appear in multiple Super Bowls and win a championship in their first five seasons. The other quarterbacks who did so are Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner, and Russell Wilson. He'll enter 2025 with renewed confidence and weapons at every key position.

The Kansas City Chiefs may not have a bona fide top 10 pass catcher currently on the roster, but they usually have a collection of speedy receivers. Advertisement Projections for 2025 are a little early to make at this point in the calendar. However, it appears the same will be true once again with a band of pass catchers led by Xavier Worthy. Worthy impressed throughout his rookie season, finishing as the Chiefs' second-leading receiver behind Travis Kelce. Kansas City and their young star will try to mold him into a more complete player in the coming years though there is one thing they hope not to change about his game. Worthy's speed separated him from some of the other rookie playmakers in his class and it had a major impact in the Chiefs' offense. While he has been challenged as the fastest on the team, Worthy also has a focus on what his ability can do for the team. "Tyquan (Thornton) called me out last year, right after the Super Bowl, but I feel like I'm the fastest," he said last week. "Hollywood, Tyquan, we got a lot of guys out there ready to compete and a lot of guys ready to get the ball deep." Worthy sees the bigger picture here, knowing that the combination of all this speed and talent can take this offense to another level, so it does not really matter who wears the crown among the group. However, Worthy will be counted on to shoulder a majority share of the load. Rashee Rice will need some time to get back into football shape after a gruesome leg injury that ended his 2024 campaign. Behind him, it's a collection of veterans and more young guys looking to break through. If Worthy continues to make strides and leads this air attack forward, there's a pathway to real stardom for the Kansas City speedster.
