Rodriguez helped to define the genre of country music.
He was born in Texas in 1951, and in his early years was an alter boy and football team captain.
But his teenage years were racked by tragedy.
His father died from cancer when he was 16, and then his brother the following year in a car crash.

The trauma of these losses led him into trouble with the law - and country music.

In an interview with Metal Hammer, Sharon claims she had the unnamed group removed from the jam-packed supporting line-up for the gig which includes bands such as Metallica and Slayer. Sharon took aim at the unidentified music manager and told the publication: 'I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath. "And it was probably the worst way I've felt in years. "I don't care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn't know me. "He's now going around making up bulls*** lies because I threw his band off the bill. "I don't care what people say. Because do you know what? I don't love them." Sharon then added: "I care about people who love me, what they say about me. "You can't care what an industry says, because you don't love them, so how can it hurt you? It doesn't.' Although Sharon did not names, some fans speculated that she could have been referring to rock band, Tool. Black Sabbath play 'Paranoid' before bowing out of music for good The band were originally lined up to play but soon disappeared from the official announcement. Despite this, it has been confirmed the band will still be playing at the event and as such casting doubt on such speculation. Elsewhere, Sharon spoke to the publication about the perception that people are often scared of her. The former The X Factor star said: 'Yeah, I think that a lot of people are [scared of me]. Because the thing is, I'll tell on you. "Things that you've done, things that I know about you, if you rattle my cage, I will tell. I don't give a s***. "You look at the billionaires in the world today, how dangerous they all are because they're all power hungry. "And I've never wanted that. "But if you f*** with me, I'll tell on you.'

The Burning Down the House hitmaker hasn't played live since his American Utopia tour - which was hailed by critics as one of the best live shows of all time. An online blurb for his latest tour reads: "In 2023, as his triumphant American Utopia era came to a close after morphing from an album and tour into an acclaimed Broadway show and then a Spike Lee-directed HBO film, David Byrne began jotting down the occasional groove, chord or melody. It had been a minute." The world tour comes as the iconic musician releases his first new album since 2018, titled Who is the Sky? The record was produced by Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon, who has worked with industry icons including Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus. Meanwhile members of New York-based chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra helped arrange 12 tracks on the album. Byrne will be in Glasgow next year on Friday 6 March and Saturday 7 March. Briefs are priced from £42.25 for seats near the back of the venue to £180 for front row seats. Tickets for the gigs go on sale at 10am on Friday 13 June. It comes days after Byrne's Talking Heads teased fans with a possible reunion. Moment Sabrina Carpenter's tour bus arrives at Glasgow hotel as fans queue outside Hydro The US rockers posted a video on social media showing the moon at night and the sun emerging from clouds with the date June 5, 2025. Eager fans hope it hints the previously warring group are reforming. But June 5 is also the date they first played live - in 1975 at New York's CBGB club. It could herald the release of a remastered recording of that gig. 6 A picture of Byrne performing in Chicago, Illinois, dated October 1979 Credit: Getty - Contributor 6 The US rocker will next year play the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow Credit: Getty The band - who split in 1991 and whose hits include Once in a Lifetime and Road to Nowhere - last played together in 2002 at their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Frontman Byrne, 73, said at the time more music was unlikely due to "bad blood" and musical differences. Their last live gig was in 1984 in New Zealand.
