Bubba Wallace is a NASCAR Cup Series race champion.
The 23XI Racing driver, who drives the No. 23 Toyota, took home the checkered flag at the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon. Wallace bested Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski on way to his victory on Sunday.
Wallace had a one-word reaction to his victory on Sunday, too: "Unbelievable!"
It was Wallace's first win in 100 races. His last win came at the Kansas Speedway in 2022. But the streak ended on Sunday evening, taking home the win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
We'll have to see if President Trump, who spent the weekend golfing in Scotland, has a comment on Bubba Wallace's victory on Sunday evening.
It's probably unlikely.
Wallace, after all, has previously made his opinion on President Trump extremely clear. He made his thoughts on President Trump attending the Daytona 500 earlier this year extremely clear. While other NASCAR drivers spoke out in support of President Trump, Wallace made it clear he wasn't a huge fan of it.
The 23XI Racing driver said that he "couldn't care less."
"We're here to race," Wallace said at the Daytona 500. "Not for the show."
President Trump had previously called out Wallace following the garage noose incident in 2020. Wallace, meanwhile, chose the high road in response.
"Always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE!... Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even when it's HATE from the POTUS," he said.
While much of the sports world is congratulating Bubba Wallace on his win on Sunday evening, it's unlikely that he'll be receiving a message from the President of the United States.

Michael Phelps answers Ravens players' call to learn how to swim

It was an offer that Baltimore Ravens fan Michael Phelps couldn't refuse. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Earlier this week, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey posted a video on social media featuring teammates Ronnie Stanley, Kyle Hamilton and Charlie Kolar explaining to the 23-time Olympic gold medalist that one in three players on the team do not know how to swim. They were asking for the U.S. swimming great to come visit them at training camp, check out their new recovery pool and give them a lesson. Phelps replied saying, "I got yall!!! Let's do it!!" Kolar, the fourth-year tight end, told reporters this week he thought Humphrey was going to send the video directly to Phelps, not post it to social media "I should have known better," Kolar said. The 40-year-old Phelps, the most decorated Olympian ever with 28 total medals, is a Baltimore native and has been involved with the team on several occasions and seen at games. Answering the call to help others learn to swim has been a mission of his since retiring. The Michael Phelps Foundation provides learn-to-swim classes to help prevent drowning and raise self-esteem and wellness.

Falcons first-rounder Jalon Walker dealing with a hamstring injury

Falcons first-round pick Jalon Walker is dealing with his first NFL injury. Walker has been sidelined by a hamstring injury this week that head coach Raheem Morris called minor in a Thursday press conference. Walker has missed practice a couple of days this week and Morris said that the edge rusher will do some individual and rehab work as the team takes a cautious approach to bringing him back to full speed. "He's wearing me out trying to get out there and practice," Morris said. "I love that about him." The Falcons are counting on Walker and fellow first-rounder James Pearce to juice up their pass rush, so they'll likely take as much time as needed to be sure Walker is fully healed before giving him the practice return he's pushing for this week.
