Teens charged over alleged six-hour gang rape of Sydney girl
Two boys, one aged 14, and two teenage men have been charged over the alleged gang rape of a girl in Sydney's south-west in December.
The horrific crime allegedly took place over six hours in various locations in Liverpool, Sadleir and surrounding areas on December 15, 2024.
The 17-year-old girl was at a shopping centre in Liverpool about 5.30pm that Sunday, when she was approached by an unknown man who then followed her to his car.
Police allege the woman 'reluctantly' let the man inside her car, where he began sexually assaulting her. He then asked to be driven to a park in Sadleir, which police say the girl agreed to on the basis that she believed he would leave the car when they arrived.
Instead, the abuse allegedly continued, with two other males getting in the car at Wheat Park, where they joined in the gang rape, police say.
A fourth man arrived in another vehicle, before also joining in the alleged sexual assault as the car was driven around the area.
At 11.30pm, six hours after the alleged ordeal began, the girl was left alone in the car by the four men, finally giving her the chance to call for help.
She contacted a friend who took her to Liverpool Police Station, where she reported the incident.
Police launched Strike Force Dungannon to investigate the incident, arresting two teenagers five days after the alleged assault, on December 20.

(Reuters) -Investigators believe the Air India Boeing Dreamliner had its emergency-power generator operating when it crashed last week in India's Ahmedabad, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the probe. The system, known as the Ram Air Turbine (RAT), generates electricity and hydraulic pressure to ensure pilots can control the plane even if both engines fail. The preliminary finding raise questions about whether the plane's engines functioned properly during takeoff, the report said. The Dreamliner was fitted with GE Aerospace's GEnx engines. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 people bound for Britain's Gatwick Airport began losing altitude seconds after takeoff. All but one passenger died in the world's worst aviation disaster in a decade, with around 30 ground fatalities. India's aviation safety watchdog said on Tuesday that surveillance of Air India's Boeing 787 fleet revealed no major safety concerns.

She had also been open in her documentary about how they were at a "crunch point" financially. She said: "Derek's care costs more than my salary from ITV and that is before you pay for a mortgage, before you pay any household bills, before you pay for anything for the kids, so we are at a crunch point. I am in debt. "I can't earn enough money to cover my debt because I am managing Derek's care and I can't even use the money I do have to support Derek's recovery because it's going on the basics all the time." Now she has suffered another financial setback as she was locked out of her accounts. Taking to Twitter, she begged her bank for help, where she wrote: "@Barclays please please get in touch with me - I have not been able to access any of my Barclays accounts current or savings since Friday due to changing my phone handset and can't get through to anyone on customer service."# It comes a month after Kate suffered another setback. New paperwork from HMRC showed loan debts of almost £140,000 remain from her late husband's company as well as a £288,000 tax bill. The company has no more assets and HMRC say attempts to recoup the money are ongoing, although it is thought that Kate does not have the money to pay back currently. A spokesman for Kate said: ''Kate has met all that the liquidators of Derek's company have asked for and more over the past 4 years. She doesn't recognise these figures and is shocked that's it's being presented in this way by them. "Caring for Derek and supporting her family when Derek could no longer run his own businesses has taken a huge financial toll on her but she's determined to put things right. She is in constant contact with HMRC to make sure she honours what's required from Derek's now defunct company."

Messages of support for Kneecap appear all over London as fans out in droves
Rap group Kneecap has said it has "plastered" London with messages of support for one of its members who is due to appear in court accused of a terrorism offence. Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the stage name Mo Chara, is accused of displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah at a gig in November last year. The 27-year-old is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday following the alleged incident during a gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London. The charge Og O hAnnaidh faces alleges he displayed a flag in a public place, "in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that he is a supporter of a proscribed organisation" – namely Hezbollah. Kneecap described the prosecution as a "witch hunt" in a post on X on Tuesday evening. The post including a short video which appeared to show a billboard that had been displayed in London with the words "more blacks, more dogs, more Irish, Mo Chara". The Metropolitan Police said the force had charged O hAnnaidh, who appears on the court list as Liam O'Hanna, after initially being made aware of a video from the gig at the O2 Forum which had been posted online. In a separate event shortly after the terrorism charge, O hAnnaidh could be seen in social media videos entering the stage with tape covering his mouth. The Met previously said the Belfast rap trio were under investigation after clips posted online appeared to show the band calling for the deaths of MPs and shouting "up Hamas, up Hezbollah".
