St Joseph's beat Cliftonville to set up Rovers tie
Reds react to St Joseph's early goal
It was a nightmare start for Cliftonville as they fell behind in the first minute.Rodriguez controlled a pass from Facundo Alvarez, beat Shaun Leppard and finished low past Lewis Ridd. The Reds responded well to going behind and almost equalised on five minutes when Casey rose highest to meet Rory Hale's corner, but his header came back off the crossbar.Gormley had a low strike saved by Bradley Banda whilst another effort from the striker whistled just wide.Their persistence finally paid off on 32 minutes when Glynn drilled the ball low into the far corner.Hale's fierce effort from outside the box was then diverted behind by Banda as the sides went in level at the break.
Reds fall short after Casey's sending off
The Reds continued to dominate early in the second half with Banda called into action once more to tip long-range efforts from Jonny Addis and Casey over the crossbar.Their momentum was curtailed just before the hour mark however, as like in the first leg, they were reduced to 10 men as Casey received a second yellow card for a foul on Alvaro Rey.Cliftonville rallied and went ahead five minutes later. Hale did well to keep Luke Conlan's cross in play with his acrobatic pass falling to Gormley, who produced an overhead kick from close range.Their lead lasted all of three minutes as St Joseph's captain Juanma rifled home an equaliser from the edge of the box.Substitute Conor Falls then thought he had won the game for Magilton's side in injury time. Conlan fed the striker, whose poked effort was turned onto the post by Banda, whilst at the other end, Javi Forjan had a late goal ruled out for offside. As they did in the first half of normal time, St Joseph's struck early in extra time, with Jesslen getting a vital touch to divert a cross from the left beyond Ridd, with St Joseph's hanging on to progress.

Hated Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri refusing to sell club for less than £100m in another huge blow
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY owner Dejphon Chansiri still wants a staggering £100m for the troubled club. The Owls are still in debt and face signing restrictions with a reduced squad. 1 Wednesday missed player pay days for two consecutive months in June and July. Earlier this month, SunSport reported that Chansiri owes more than £4million in football debts — which will have to be paid by whoever buys the club. The extent of the cash woes emerged during takeover bids by several groups in the prior weeks. Earlier this month it was reported that US businessman Tilman Fertitta was in talks to buy the crisis club. Fertitta, 68, is the US ambassador for Italy and is an ally of Donald Trump. The businessman also owns the Houston Rockets in the NBA. Wednesday manager Danny Rohl initially did not show up for pre season amid the club's woes. The 36-year-old eventually returned but has had to work with a threadbare squad. The Owls beat Mansfield 2-0 in a training ground friendly yesterday. Club stalwarts Barry Bannan and Callum Paterson did not feature, despite having trained with the Owls in recent weeks. Both players have been out of contract since June 30. It remains to be seen whether Wednesday's sorry situation will have improved by their Championship opener against Leicester City on August 10.

Luis Diaz set for €75m move to Bayern Munich as Liverpool accept latest bid

His time on Merseyside also saw him lift the FA Cup and two Carabao Cups. Speaking post-match, head coach Arne Slot said: 'In Lucho's (Diaz's) situation, there's a lot of rumours around him lately and I cannot go into that. Diaz won the Premier League with Liverpool last season (Peter Byrne/PA) 'He's training really well with us but we have decided for now not to play him yet. 'I'm used to talking to most of my players on a regular basis. I cannot comment much more about that.' Advertisement Liverpool have been busy in the transfer window so far and have bolstered their attacking options with Florian Wirtz – who made his first start as a false nine on Saturday – and Hugo Ekitike joining the club. There have also been further arrivals on Merseyside, with Jeremie Frimpong, left-back Milos Kerkez and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili all signing and the trio played in the second half of Saturday's friendly.
