Ont. man accused of murder in Barrie encampment investigation appears in court
Robert Ladouceur appeared in court on Friday charged with first and second-degree murder and two counts of indignity to a body in connection with a missing person report and Barrie homeless encampment investigation.
Ladouceur, also known as 'Tattoo Rob,' made a virtual appearance from Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene wearing an orange jumpsuit.
The 52-year-old man was arrested earlier this month and had initially been charged with 19 offences, primarily weapons and drug-related, before Barrie police announced the new charges on Thursday in connection with a homicide investigation.

Ladouceur's lawyer waived his rights during Friday's proceedings to have a reading of all the counts, stating he was told about the new charges Thursday. Additionally, the court read names of 29 people Ladouceur is prohibited from contacting, to which he replied, 'I don't even know who they are.'
Police believe Ladouceur is responsible for the deaths of William 'Blake' Robinson, 45, and David Cheesequay, 41. They have not revealed a motive in the case or disclosed if it's drug-related. It's also unclear whether the men knew each other.
Ladouceur remains in custody and is scheduled for his next court appearance on August 29. The allegations against him have not been tested in court.

A motorcyclist is dead following a collision with a vehicle on Friday afternoon, Calgary police said. Police said the collision happened at around 4 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Centre Street N. in Crescent Heights. B.C. police issue warning after people crawl under stopped train

In a statement, the White Rock RCMP said officers responded to a train blocking the crossing near the pier head around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. While the train was stopped, police say some pedestrians, including parents with children, crawled under it or walked along the tracks rather than use the Balsam Street crossing. 'This is extremely dangerous. A stopped train can move without warning, and anyone underneath or on the tracks is at serious risk of injury or death,' the statement reads. Mounties got everyone off the tracks and stayed on site to prevent more people from crossing until the train was back moving about an hour later, according to the detachment. 'Never crawl under a train, enter the tracks against crossing signals, or walk on/along tracks at undesignated crossings,' detachment commander Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon said, in the statement. 'It's illegal and your safety is not worth the shortcut.'

Three people from Ohsweken facing drug trafficking charges
Six Nations Police have seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone as part of an investigation into drug trafficking. On Wednesday, police arrested three people who were in a vehicle on Sour Springs Road after they noticed the trio had outstanding warrants. During the arrest, officer said they saw illegal drugs out in the open. They seized a Glock handgun with an extended magazine, fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. The next day, Six Nations Police searched a home on Pine Crescent and two vehicles on the property. They said more drugs were seized. In total, police said they found 73.7 grams of fentanyl, 107.4 grams of cocaine, 21.8 grams of methamphetamine and 55 hydromorphone pills. A 28-year-old, a 35-year-old and a 38-year-old, all from Ohsweken, have been charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, two counts of careless use of a firearm or weapon, authorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of break and enter instruments.
