King & Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals Set for WWE Night of Champions 2025

Image via WWE WWE is moving fast-paced towards its next major Premium Live Event, Night of Champions, taking place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. One of the prime highlights at the event will be the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. For weeks, the competition was going on in full force. As the dust settled on this week's edition of Monday Night RAW, the finals were set in stone to crown the new King and Queen of the Ring this year. WWE Night of Champions will see the coronation of the King and Queen of the Ring The first semi-finals of the King and Queen of the Ring culminated at last week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown. On the women's side, it was Asuka who outlasted Alexa Bliss to advance in the tournament. On the other hand, Randy Orton defeated Sami Zayn to once again secure a spot in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, much like he did last year. On this week's episode of RAW, the second semi-finals of the tournaments took place. In the first hour of the show, it was Jade Cargill who competed against Roxanne Perez. The NXT standout displayed a valiant effort against the much bigger Cargill, and both women delivered a spectacular showdown. As the dust settled, The Storm planted Perez with a thunderous Jaded to pick up the win. As the show progressed, it was time for the blockbuster match between close allies, Main Event Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes, in their semi-final bout. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Homburg: GEERS sucht 700 Testhörer für Hörgeräte ohne Zuzahlung GEERS Undo The duo threw their friendship out the window and hit each other with every heavy move in their arsenal. Dilip Doshi: The magic spinner who helped India win historic 1981 MCG test with a broken foot

Former India left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi , who carved out a niche for himself despite being in the shadows of Bishan Singh Bedi , died due to cardiac arrest in London on Monday, the Saurashtra Cricket Association said. He was 77 and is survived by his wife Kalindi, son Nayan, who has also played first- class cricket, and daughter Vishakha. Doshi made his Test debut in 1979 after Bedi's retirement and played his last of his 33 games in 1983. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This may be of interest to you! Undo In those matches, he took 114 wickets with six five-wicket hauls and was exceptional at home during the first three seasons, completing 100 scalps in just 28 Tests. 'Playing with fractured toe' His finest hour was getting five wickets in India's Test win at the MCG in 1981 when the visitors defended a paltry target. Live Events Doshi bowled with a fractured toe and was literally unplayable on an up-and-down MCG track. Doshi, Karsan Ghavri and the peerless Kapil Dev won that game for India. He was also a stalwart in English county circuit having plied his trade for more than a decade there. He represented Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire. In the Indian domestic circuit, he played for Bengal and Saurashtra. In all he had a staggering 898 first-class scalps with 43 five-fors. He was Bengal's go-to man in Ranji Trophy for years. While Bedi remains India's greatest left-arm spinner, Doshi was one of the most accurate bowlers who would flight the ball when required and was very accurate for the better part of his career. The touring Australian, English and West Indies teams found it difficult to handle his arm balls, and it was Javed Miandad, who actually hastened his exit from international cricket during the 1982-83 series against Pakistan. After retirement, he had migrated to London where he became a successful businessman. He would divide his time between London, Mumbai and Rajkot, and it was quite strange that the BCCI never bothered to use Doshi's expertise. Sir Gary's praise for Doshi Sir Garfield Sobers had once said of Doshi: "Dilip Doshi has an immeasurable knowledge to pass on to those who want to follow his path into professional cricket. He has played at all levels over the world and there can be no one more qualified to talk about the art of spin bowling." Cricket fraternity on Doshi's death Former India cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri wrote on X,"Really sad to hear about the passing of Dilip Doshi. Always immaculate, a gentleman to the core and a fine, fine bowler. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace." "Heartbreaking to hear about Dilip bhai's passing. May God give strength to his family and friends to bear this loss. Nayan, thinking of you buddy," former India captain and spinner Anil Kumble wrote on X. Sachin Tendulkar paid an emotional tribute on X, recalling their first meeting in the UK in 1990. 'I met Dilipbhai for the first time in the UK in 1990, and he bowled to me in the nets on that tour. He was really fond of me, and I reciprocated his feelings. A warm-hearted soul like Dilipbhai will be deeply missed. I will miss those cricketing conversations which we invariably had. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti,' Tendulkar wrote.

Headingley cricket ground in Leeds has witnessed some of cricket's most memorable run chases in Test match history, with Australia's pursuit of 404 runs against England in 1948 standing as the highest successful chase at this venue. The historic ground has hosted five remarkable fourth-innings victories, showcasing extraordinary batting performances and match-winning partnerships that have left an indelible mark on Test cricket. The highest successful run chase at Headingley came in 1948 when Australia, led by Don Bradman, achieved a target of 404 runs with seven wickets to spare. Bradman's unbeaten 173 and Arthur Morris's 182 formed a partnership of 301 runs that secured this historic victory for Australia. KL Rahul press conference: On his role, being elder brother in team, role clarity and match The second-highest chase occurred in 2019 when England successfully pursued 362 runs against Australia. Shai Hope's twin centuries and Kraigg Brathwaite's significant contribution helped the West Indies secure a memorable victory on English soil. The fourth spot belongs to England's chase of 315 against Australia in 2001. Mark Butcher's outstanding innings of 173 runs from 227 deliveries guided England to victory despite a shaky start at 33 for 2. The fifth-highest successful chase at Headingley was completed by England against New Zealand in 2022, when they reached the target of 296 with seven wickets in hand. Joe Root and Ollie Pope's partnership of 134 runs off 168 balls proved crucial after England lost both openers with only 51 runs on the board. Quiz: Who's that IPL player? These successful chases at Headingley have featured remarkable individual performances. Don Bradman's unbeaten 173 in 1948, Ben Stokes' 135 not out in 2019, and Mark Butcher's 173 in 2001 stand as some of the finest fourth-innings batting displays at this ground. The venue has particularly been favourable for England, who feature in four of the five highest successful chases. Three of these victories came against their traditional rivals Australia, while the other was against New Zealand. The success rate of teams batting fourth at Headingley demonstrates the ground's potential for producing exciting finishes. The pitch characteristics and conditions have often allowed batting teams to successfully chase substantial targets. These historic chases have often involved significant partnerships. The 301-run partnership between Bradman and Morris in 1948, the last-wicket stand between Stokes and Leach in 2019, and the Root-Pope partnership in 2022 exemplify how crucial partnerships have been in successful pursuits at this venue. Each of these five chases has contributed to Headingley's reputation as a ground capable of producing dramatic Test matches with successful fourth-innings pursuits. With a 371-run target now set, England's current team has a chance to add its name to this famous list — but it will take something truly special to do so.
