'I was misinformed by certain individuals'
Vincy had earlier voiced her disappointment against various film industry bodies in Kerala for allegedly failing to maintain the confidentiality of her complaint. She believed that the general secretary had leaked the name of the accused actor to the media, despite her specific request to keep it under wraps to protect the film's prospects and those involved.
From a shy girl to a hottie, the transformation was indeed a miracle, says Vincy Aloshoius, Nayika Nayakan finalist
According to On Manorama, speaking to the media in Pathanamthitta on Monday, she clarified her position and extended an apology: 'I initially believed that the general secretary of the film chamber had disclosed the accused's name, despite my request to keep the matter confidential.
However, I've come to understand that I was misinformed by certain individuals. I sincerely apologize to Saji Nanthiyattu for the misunderstanding.'
She added that she remains committed to cooperating with the Film Chamber-led monitoring committee in their ongoing inquiry.
The complaint, which reportedly concerns actor
, has also drawn the attention of the Kerala Excise Department. Excise Minister M. B. Rajesh recently confirmed that Vincy has agreed to support the police investigation into the narcotics case involving the actor.
Not to be part of empowerment campaigns
Vincy also revealed earlier to the media that she dares to stand and fight alone, and she won't be a part of any empowerment campaigns.
Industry divided
Amid the issue, actor Mala Parvathy's statement regarding on-set misconduct has sparked controversies. Actress Revathy slammed the 'Bheeshma Parvam' actor's statements by sharing a note on Facebook that read, 'Shame on you, Mala Parvathy! You are a trained psychologist and lawyer, and yet you support perpetrators like these.
This shows that you are an opportunist. Too sad, and I don't have any respect for you.'

Lawful measures: On Manipur and law and order

Ethnic conflicts, unlike other variants of strife, are more difficult to end because of the nature and the level of grievances of the communities hostile to each other. This persecution complex is fed by those who drive passions to such an extent that taking a position on reconciliation through mutual compromises and peace-building becomes difficult even if a silent majority are in favour of it. Using threats by brandishing arms, chauvinist sections try to drown out voices of reason by drilling in fear and ideas of further vengeance. That seems to be the case with Manipur too, where, after months of dilly-dallying over taking on the patrons of violence, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government has finally decided to isolate such elements and subject them to the long arm of the law. That the Imphal valley has again erupted in protest over the arrest of leaders of the extremist identitarian outfit, Arambai Tenggol, highlights the necessity and the difficulty of implementing law enforcement measures in an ethnic conflict. This group had engaged in acts of wanton lawlessness with impunity, targeting those who did not agree with its militant agenda with violence and threats. It had also coerced MLAs into signing pledges for its chauvinist cause. Shockingly, the then BJP-led State government looked the other way – a consequence of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh's inability to rise above his partisanship. The security forces were also unable to act because of public protection for the violent offenders. Soon, such groups went to become a major threat to peace and it was only after implementing President's Rule that the government managed to get the group, among others, to return most of the weapons looted from police constabularies The arrests have coincided with similar actions against other militant volunteers in the hills who were allegedly involved in violence against law enforcement officers. The government of Manipur, which is currently under President's Rule, must make a clear case of the involvement of those arrested in crimes and bring them to justice. It should not give in to the threats made by those stoking communal passions, and must convince the people – across ethnic lines – that these are lawful actions against malefactors. It must simultaneously engage in talks with other stakeholders, also asserting that such steps will coincide with peace-building and rehabilitation measures. It must use devices such as convening all-party meetings and involving civil society representatives from across all ethnic lines to reinforce this message, and must not give in to pressure to reverse the legal steps taken against the offenders.

HDFC Bank denies fraud allegations by Lilavati Trust; calls them smear campaign to avoid loan repayment

HDFC Bank has issued a strong rebuttal against allegations of financial fraud targeting the bank and its CEO, Sashidhar Jagdishan. In a statement on Sunday, the bank asserted these accusations are part of a campaign by "unscrupulous persons" abusing the legal system to obstruct the recovery of a long-standing loan from defaulters, specifically Splendour Gems Limited (formerly Beautiful Diamonds Limited). The allegations stem from a complaint by the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust (LKMM Trust). The trust accuses Jagdishan of accepting a significant sum to harass the father of a trust member, presenting handwritten diary entries as purported evidence. The trust seeks punitive action against the CEO, including suspension and prosecution. HDFC Bank firmly denies all accusations, labeling them "completely false, outrageous, malicious, and baseless." It links the complaint directly to its efforts to recover dues from Splendour Gems, owned by the Mehta family. According to the bank, Splendour Gems defaulted in 2001 on loan facilities granted in 1995 by an HDFC-led consortium. Despite a 2004 Debt Recovery Tribunal certificate and subsequent enforcement actions, the bank says, the outstanding amount owed to HDFC Bank alone, including interest, stood at approximately ₹65.22 crore as of May 31, 2025. The bank states that members of the Mehta family have repeatedly initiated legal actions (criminal complaints, minority rights petitions, regulatory representations) against HDFC Bank and its officials. These actions, it claims, have been dismissed or are under challenge. The latest trust complaint is seen as another retaliatory move with "mala fide intention" solely aimed at evading repayment. HDFC Bank sees this as a deliberate escalation to personal attacks against Jagdishan, designed to "malign reputation," "intimidate" the bank, and create a "calculated distraction" from their liabilities after exhausting legal avenues. The bank strongly condemned the allegations as a "gross misuse of the legal process" and reiterated its commitment to high corporate governance standards. it highlighted its "robust internal controls and compliance mechanisms," and emphasised that its governance framework ensures "transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct." HDFC Bank has said that it will "pursue all lawful remedies" to recover the funds and defend the reputation of the bank, its directors, and employees. The LKMM Trust has also levelled charges against eight individuals, including former office bearers, for alleged embezzlement. These broader charges include financial fraud, criminal conspiracy, abuse of fiduciary position, evidence tampering, and obstruction of justice, based on a recent court order and FIR.
