The Connecticut Sun suffered their third straight loss on Tuesday in an 88-71 blowout against the Indiana Fever.

As expected, Caitlin Clark stole the show, as the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year led her team to their second straight win behind 20 points, six assists and four three-pointers.
Clark, however, also made headlines after being involved in multiple physical altercations throughout the contest. One in particular that stood out was an incident in the third quarter that saw Clark get called for a technical foul after shoving Sun guard Jacy Sheldon.
Clark was retaliating after getting poked in the eye by Sheldon, which resulted in Marina Mabrey and Tina Charles also getting involved in the physical confrontation.
In the end, Clark and Co. battled hard and were able to take down the Sun, who fell to 2-9 on the season after another disappointing loss.

After the game, Connecticut head coach Rachid Meziane made a statement about how proud he was of his players for "finding our character." At the same time, however, he wasn't entirely pleased with how his team let their emotions get the better of them in this one.

'When it's an away game, it will never be in our (favor)," he said, via Brian Haenchen on IndyStar. "It's why I say we lost our mind, instead of sticking to our game plan and focusing on our game.
"It was a good learning opportunity, so hopefully we can learn from this game."
Toward the end of the game, two Sun players, Sheldon and Lindsay Allen, were ejected after another incident with Fever veteran Sophie Cunningham, who was also tossed.
Unfortunately for the Sun, they suffered another loss on Wednesday. They played for a second time in two nights, and they found themselves on the losing end again, this time against the Phoenix Mercury, 83-75.

The 2-10 Sun currently have the second-worst record in the WNBA. They are one game ahead of the league-worst Dallas Wings (2-11).

New York needed upgrades all around the field to improve upon their disastrous 2024, either by new faces or old. Advertisement One player who is primed for a step up is two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Brian Burns. Burns was acquired by the Giants last offseason, and had a solid first year in New York. In his first season for the Giants, Burns had 8.5 sacks, 71 tackles, 17 for loss, and 18 quarterback hits. The Giants have a lot of big names who can get to the quarterback, between tackle Dexter Lawrence, bounce-back candidate Kayvon Thibodeaux, and rookie Abdul Carter. Burns has seemed to have gotten lost in the headlines amid the acquisition of Carter. Perhaps that's a good thing. Truthfully, opposing offenses will be terrified of Lawrence and Carter. With the pressure those two bring, Burns' sack numbers could skyrocket. Marc Ross agrees with the sentiment, predicting that Burns is in for perhaps his best season yet with the arrival of Carter. "But I guarantee the two-time Pro Bowler's production will vastly increase with Abdul Carter's arrival," Ross wrote. "The No. 3 overall draft pick is the most talented pass pusher to enter the league since Micah Parsons in 2021, and Carter's impact on the Giants defense is likely to be similar to the one the four-time Pro Bowler has made in Dallas." Advertisement Burns has had just one double-digit sack season, in 2022, his last Pro Bowl year, where he had 12.5. With Carter and Lawrence on the field most of the time and Thibodeaux in the mix, the Giants' pass rush is going to be lethal, and Burns could be seeing much more favorable coverages from his side of the field, leading to a career year. "Burns will surely face his share of double-teams, but he should regularly feast when presented with one-on-one matchups, leading me to think a double-digit sack and Pro Bowl campaign are on tap for the seventh-year pro." Wrote Ross. The pass rush will be the signature of this Giants team. It should be one of the NFL's best. The rest of the roster will need to get up to snuff. Grizzlies' 7-foot-4 phenom allegedly blazed through 55-mph zone in Indiana
Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey was reportedly stopped in Indiana for allegedly speeding through a 55-mph zone earlier this month. The 7-foot-4 basketball player was charged with reckless driving and will make a court appearance in Tippecanoe County next week, according to online records. Edey was clocked going around 101 mph on Indiana 25 on May 1, the Journal & Courier reported, citing a police affidavit. Edey reportedly said he was trying to pass another vehicle, which was his reasoning for speeding. Edey, who stands at 7'4", was the ninth pick of last year's NBA Draft after winning the Naismith Player of the Year in his final two seasons as a Boilermaker. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team, putting up 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. He recently underwent ankle surgery that could result in his missing the start of the 2025-26 season. Edey needed the procedure to repair and restabilize his ankle after spraining it again during offseason training last week. The Grizzlies said the 7-foot-4 Canadian would be evaluated again in four months, which is less than two weeks before the 2025-26 season opens Oct. 21. Edey missed 12 games early in the season because of a sprained left ankle. He went on to play in 66 games, making 55 starts. His Grizzlies clinched the eight-seed in the Western Conference, but were swept by the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, who are one win away from their first championship since moving from Seattle, in the first round.
