BIG trouble for anti-India Turkey as India to arm Greece with missiles deadlier than BrahMos, has massive range of…, can beat Ankara's S-400, name is…
LRLACM missile: In major trouble for Turkey, India has reportedly offered to sell its state-of-the-art Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) to Greece, Ankara's key rival, which could potentially change the equation of the conflict between Greece and Turkey. According to media reports, New Delhi has informally offered LRLACM missile to Athens, a development which has rattled Ankara. How powerful is India's LRLACM missile?
Designed and developed by India's state-owned Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile aka the LRLACM missile is an indigenously-built cruise missile with a range of up to 1500 km. The LRLACM is powered by the indigenous Manik Small Turbo Fan Engine (STFE), allowing it fly a low altitude and evade air defense systems, including Russian-made S-400 employed by Turkey.
The missile uses GPS and onboard guidance system for precision strikes, and is designed for striking long-range targets with pinpoint accuracy using conventional or nuclear warheads. Why Turkey is worried?
Turkey and Greece are embroiled in a long-standing conflict akin to India-Pakistan, and primary concern for Ankara is that the LRLACM missile could be potential gamechanger in the region if Greece acquires the missile system from India. According to reports, India had offered the missile to Greece in May 2025 at the DEFEA 2025 defense exhibition in Athens.
However, neither Greece nor India has officially confirmed the deal. Yet, the development has rattled Ankara with Turkish media calling it 'revenge' move by India to punish Turkey for supporting Pakistan during the recent India-Pakistan conflict.
Experts believe that Turkey's airports and S-400 systems in Izmir and Chanakkale could be vulnerable if Greece acquires the LRLACM missiles. What makes LRLACM deadlier than Brahmos?
As per defense experts, the extended range of the LRLACM missile and its ability to evade advanced air defense systems like the S-400 makes it a much more lethal threat than the BrahMos supersonic missile, which wreaked havoc in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.
