You are a part-time worker including job-sharing week on and week off (but not if you have chosen to do so)
You get casual work or part-time work
You have subsidiary employment
According to Citizens Information, a Jobseeker's Benefit recipient's payment is determined using a 5-day week if they work for a portion of the week.
This implies that a person's wage is reduced by one-fifth of the regular Jobseeker's Benefit amount for each workday.
You will receive three-fifths of the regular Jobseeker's Benefit for that week if you are able to arrange two days of part-time work.

However, you must remain unemployed for four out of seven days to claim the Jobseeker's Benefit.

If you work for four days or more, you are no longer entitled to claim the benefit anymore as you must be unemployed for at least four out of seven days.
If a situation arises where your working hours are reduced to three days or less per week, you can apply for Short Time Work Support under the Jobseeker's Benefit scheme.
HOW TO APPLY?
To qualify for the benefit, you must:
Be under 66 years of age, or under 70 years and deferring your State Pension (Contributory)
Be unemployed (you must be unemployed for at least 4 days out of 7)
Have had a substantial loss of employment and as a result be unemployed for at least 4 days out of 7 (this does not apply to casual workers and part-time fire fighters)
Be capable of work
Be available for and genuinely seeking work
Have enough social insurance (PRSI) contributions
Applications for Jobseeker's Benefit and Short-Time Work Support must be completed in order to apply, this can be done online or at any local Intreo Centre or Social Welfare Branch Office.
When applying for the Jobseeker's Benefit on MyWelfare.ie, you can also request assistance if required - however, you would need a verified MyGovID account to apply online.

Revenue stated that the business was subject to a Revenue investigation case due to 'non-declaration of PAYE/PRSI/USC and VAT'. According to the data from Revenue, all money owed by the company was paid in full. The biggest single tax settlement was from Lifetime Brands Europe Limited, a UK based wholesaler of household goods. The company reached a settlement amounting to €1,115,755 made up of €777,606 of unpaid taxes and €233,281 of penalties. All money owed by the company was paid in full. UK household goods wholesaler tops Tax Defaulters' List

A British-based wholesaler of household goods has topped the latest Tax Defaulters' List, with a total bill of more than €1.11m. Lifetime Brands Europe Ltd, with an address in Birmingham, England, was found to have under-declared VAT to the tune of €777,606 following a review by Revenue. When interest and penalties were added, the total sum owed rose to €1,115,755. The second biggest penalty listed in the quarterly list was the €781,000 deemed to be owed by Illann Power, with an address in Ballyconnell in Tullow, Co Carlow. That sum related to the non-declaration of income tax, and was deteremined by the courts following a case last year. Mr Power previously faced multiple charges, including reckless filing of company information and forgery. I&L Biosystems Ireland Ltd, a laboratory equipment supplier in Finglas, Dublin 11 was found to have owed revenue €761,677 for under-declaration of VAT. That was made up of €539,264 in unpaid tax, €60,634 in interest and €161,779 in penalties. Meanwhile property development company SSC Property ICAV, with an address on Earlsford Terrace in Dublin 2, was found to have under-declared VAT to the tune of €490,926. When interest and penalties were added, the total owed rose to €648,301. Also included on the latest list was tax rebate agents Online Tax Rebate Services Ltd, which failed to declare PAYE, PRSI, USC and income tax to the tune of €101,814. With penalties and interest included, the amount it owed came to €188,206.

A Longford-based tax rebate agent and a Limerick used car dealer are amongst those on the latest tax defaulters list published by the Revenue Commissioners. There were 19 settlements published by Revenue in its latest list, which included health and safety consultants, a medical practitioner and several landlords, with the overall value of these settlements totalling €6.2m. Online Tax Rebate Services Limited, with an address at Unit 1A, Heatherview Business Park on Athlone Road in Longford was the subject of a Revenue investigation case for the non-declaration of PAYE/PRSI/USC and VAT. The settlement, which has since been paid in full, was made up of €101,814 in tax, €10,032 in interest and €76,360 in penalties, totalling €188,206. Topping the list was a UK-based wholesaler of household goods. Birmingham-based Liftetime Brands Europe Limited with an address at the Hub, Nobel Way, was subject to a Level 2 Risk Review for the non-declaration of VAT. The settlement, totalling €1,115,755, comprised €777,606 in tax, €104,868 in interest and €233,281 in penalties, which has since been paid in full. The second-largest settlement was from a Dublin laboratory equipment supplier. I&L Biosystems Ireland Limited, with an address at Unit D6, North City Business Park, North Road in Finglas was the subject of a Level 2 Risk Review for the under-declaration of VAT. The settlement, which was made up of €539,264 in tax, €60,634 in interest and €161,779 in penalties, totalling €761,677, was paid in full. A used car dealer in Limerick was also among those to appear on the latest tax defaulters list. Gannon Auto Limited, with an address at Elm Court, Ballyneety in Limerick, was subject of a Revenue audit case for the under-declaration of VAT. The settlement was made up of €255,119 in tax, €144,003 in interest and €67,536 in penalties, coming to a total of €436,658. Some €334,393 of the settlement remained unpaid as of March 31, 2025. Cork-based medical staff provider Oluwa's Medical Limited also featured on the list. The company, with an address at 14 Elm Road, Fota Rock in Carrigtwohill, was subject of a Revenue audit case for the under-declaration of corporation tax and PAYE/PRSI/USC. The settlement was made up of €82,230 in tax, €46,539 in interest and €24,669 in penalties for a combined total of €153,438. Some €150,371 remained unpaid by the company as of March 31, 2025.
