Melissa Leong shares tearful post about ‘dark' memoir revelations

Melissa Leong has worried fans after sharing a tearful photo on social media.
The former MasterChef Australia judge, 43, said she had a 'hard day' as she revisited past traumas aired in her upcoming memoir, Guts, which hits stands in September.
'I started recording the audio version of my memoir, and I knew sharing some of what I wrote might be the most difficult thing I have ever had to say out loud to strangers,' Leong shared in her Instagram caption, alongside a photo of herself in tears.
'It's not yet time to talk about it, but I really need to send love to anyone out there who has been forced through the dark. You are not alone, and I need to know I am not, either,' she continued.
'I am not one for posting these kinds of raw moments, but I want to mark today as one where I reclaimed myself and my story once and for all.'
Leong's post prompted an outpouring of love from her followers, praising the food critic for her 'strength' and 'vulnerability'.
The TV presenter, who left the Ten cooking show in 2023 after Jock Zonfrillo's death, revealed in June her debut memoir would 'have teeth, guts and heart.'
'Writing this book hasn't been without fear, doubt, or worry. The result is a book rippled with love letters to food, seeing the world, and most importantly, doing things my way,' Leong shared.
'It's not all light. There are some pretty dark truths in here, but isn't that always the making of who we are?'
She also promised fans there would be 'a bunch' of behind the scenes MasterChef revelations.
Leong, who currently hosts the networks MasterChef spin-off, Dessert Masters, previously opened up to news.com.au about her struggle with anxiety and overcoming self-doubt.
'I have a very loud internal monologue, so whenever I say something I could have articulated a little bit more delicately, I'm rehashing what I did and said in front of people because that's just how my mind works. I'm hypercritical. It's just how I'm built,' she said in October last year.
Leong continued, 'Anxiety and neuroticism is something we all share as human beings. We all have moments where we know we nailed it, and moments where we go, 'Wow, that was a bit special, wasn't it?'
'I think the more time I spend in entertainment, the more I realise that's just what makes us human. What connects us to other humans. I've learned to embrace the mess just a little bit more.
'I don't think that I'll ever be fully comfortable with [being high profile]. I mean, I watch peers and colleagues handle it with much more grace than I do.
'But I have found a way to traverse it in a way that I can live with.'

Bailey Smith's ex Izzy Armitage makes explosive claims, seemingly accusing the AFL star of cheating

Melbourne content creator Izzy Armitage has unloaded on her ex-boyfriend, Geelong star Bailey Smith, saying she was put 'through the f---ing wringer 100 times over', apparently accusing him of cheating and manipulative behaviour. Armitage said 'the gloves are off' after being disrespected and hearing that Smith was accusing her of using him for clout when she has barely mentioned him since their break-up in late 2021. Smith has, this week, made headlines after being busted on a Gold Coast date with millionaire fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow. 'Obviously, I was previously tied to him and it is going to be something people are aware of and a lot of the time it's my search history,'' Armitage said. 'But I'm not out here regularly constantly making videos about this man. 'I spent a really long time trying to protect him in the sense of not being fully open on here about what he'd done to me. And how it all went down. Just because there is still that level of respect for someone you loved. When did I get any of that respect back even when we were together? 'The gloves are off. Game on.' The Herald Sun does not suggest any of Armitage's allegations against Smith are true, only that they have been made. Armitage, speaking on her podcast, Hear Me Out, didn't mention Smith by name and said she had 'not been petty this whole time'. But after a girl told her that he believed she was using him for clout, she wanted to set the record straight. 'I want everyone to know that boy put me through the f---ing wringer 100 times over,'' Armitage said in a chat with her sister, Riley. 'Because I'm an empathetic person, they could just cry and apologise and you put it up to mental health, them being in a bad place, and you're like, it's OK, I forgive you. Because someone you love is convincing you of all these things. The manipulation was on a level I've never had. 'I'm like, he's in a bad place, that's why he's done these things. OK I'll try again.' Armitage says when she was alerted that her boyfriend had slept with someone else while playing a game in Adelaide, her friends turned detective and showed her the evidence. She said her 'heart sinks' but 'it's very much in denial at this point'. 'I could have probably just believed it at that moment in time, but I'm so in love at this point I need more to allow myself to believe this,'' she said. 'In hindsight, never in my life growing up did I think I'd be in a relationship where I would potentially accept someone cheating on me until you're faced with it head on. It's a really scary moment for me that I wasn't as strong as I thought I was.' Armitage said she had bought ingredients to make pizza at her boyfriend's house when her friends had showed up outside his house to offer support. 'They didn't want to tell me or call me because they know I would freak out,'' she said. '(I said to him) you f---ing cheated on me. He's like, 'no I didn't'. 'It ends up being a me problem. The way it ends up being spun, I'm in the wrong here, I ended up probably f---ing apologising. He just got angry, it was a shitshow, he ends up crying. '(He says) that's not the case, people lie about me all the time because of who he is. 'In my heart of hearts I didn't (believe him) but I didn't know what to do and I didn't yet know in that moment whether I was ready to let it go. 'I'm embarrassed and my friends are sitting out there and I text them saying I'm going to stay. That was brutal.' Armitage said they didn't break then and what led to their real break-up was 'far worse than that'. 'It's been a really long time and I just want people to know it's not for clout for me, it's more just this is my experience of what I went through and honestly I think it plays a huge part as to why I'm still single,'' she said. 'Going through not one, but two really hard relationships where neither of them are loyal to you … there's no mutual respect between us anymore. 'Never once have I named the guy. Even now I'm still not saying his name. 'Even now all the submissions I get are what happened between you and so and so. That is constant and always will be. 'I only have so much give in me before I snap. After what I've done for that guy, there you go. That is exactly how it went down. This makes no difference in my life. Good riddance, wish you the best. 'Moving forward I have learnt so much in those relationships and I believe I will not make the same mistakes again. Everyone was like why would you date him. I knew him as kids, we grew up together. I've known him for so long, it's going to be different. It never is.'

Bailey Smith's ex makes explosive ‘cheating' claims, days after Hembrow date

Bailey Smith's ex says she was put 'through the wringer 100 times over' in a past relationship – just days after the footballer was seen getting cosy with millionaire influencer Tammy Hembrow. Izzy Armitage dated the Geelong player in 2021, with the young couple photographed looking very loved-up at her 21st birthday. Unfortunately, the romance was short lived, and the pair split just a few months later. Now fans are speculating they might know what caused the sudden separation, after the Melbourne-based content creator took to the Hear Me Out podcast to declare: 'the gloves are off'. While discussing a high-profile ex – who Armitage does not name – the 25-year-old said she was contacted by a girl on social media who told her, 'my friend slept with your boyfriend in Adelaide'. 'I'm like, 'Oh my God, oh my God', [my] heart sinks,' she recalled. 'I could have probably just believed it in that moment in time, that he did do that, but I'm so in love. I needed more time to allow myself to believe it. 'In hindsight, never did I think I'd be in a relationship where I would potentially accept someone cheating on me, you know what I mean?' Eventually though, Armitage said she was sent photos of the alleged encounter, prompting her to confront the boyfriend, which ultimately led to the end of the relationship. 'Obviously I was previously tied to him and it is going to be something people are aware of and a lot of the time it's my search history,'' Armitage added. 'But I'm not out here regularly constantly making videos about this man. 'I spent a really long time trying to protect him in the sense of not being fully open on here about what he'd done to me. And how it all went down. Just because there is still that level of respect for someone you loved. 'When did I get any of that respect back even when we were together?' While Armitage has taken great lengths to not name her ex, it hasn't stopped fans speculating she might be talking about Smith. does not suggest Armitage's allegations are true, only that they have been made. A promo video for the podcast shared on TikTok has been flooded with comments, some noting the influencer's remarks come just days after he was seen with Hembrow enjoying lunch at the uber trendy Rick Shores restaurant, at the Burleigh Pavilion on Saturday. Armitage said she decided to set the record straight after she was approached by a woman who told her she was using her ex for clout. 'I want everyone to know that boy put me through the f**king wringer 100 times over,'' she said. Attention has swirled Hembrow, 31, and 24-year-old Smith since photos emerged of them walking hand-in-hand on the Gold Coast over the weekend, largely because it comes just two months after her seven-month marriage to Love Island star Matt Zukowski ended. The pair, who have a seven-year age gap, appear to have hit it off with one photo showing them pashing in what appears to be a local RSL, with diners sitting on tables nearby with plates of steak and chips. Smith apparently flew up from Melbourne just to see the mum-of-three in her hometown, with paparazzi capturing them laughing and smiling together. Eyewitnesses at the restaurant said Hembrow and Smith were anything but discreet and were seen making out for hours, the Herald Sun reported. However, seeing Hembrow seemingly move on 'so soon' after her separation from Zukowski, who she married in a lavish $200,000 Byron Bay ceremony, has sparked an avalanche of 'sexist' criticism online. 'How is she not emotionally exhausted?' quizzed one on social media. 'She can't be single for 5 minutes?' snarked another. Others argued the relationship was a 'publicity stunt', noting Smith recently landed a paid advertising deal with dating app, Tinder. Meanwhile Zukowski is said to be 'shattered' by the fact his ex-wife is reportedly dating again. 'We only broke up eight weeks ago. I just don't understand how someone can move on so quickly,' he told the Herald Sun. 'It's been 48 days, and I'm still trying to work out how I feel as a person after committing in marriage to someone. I'm trying to focus on myself and heal.'

All the revelations as Taylor Swift appears on Travis Kelce's podcast

We're mere minutes away from unprecedented insight into Taylor Swift, with the pop sensation set to appear on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast for the first time. The Super Bowl winner and his brother, Jason Kelce, interview the megastar on today's episode of their New Heights sports podcast, with Swift set to unveil her upcoming twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl. But there'll no doubt be plenty more to discuss in the more than one-hour long episode, which will go live at 9am AEST. In a brief teaser clip, we learn Swift is all too aware of backlash to her NFL takeover, with diehard football fans becoming incensed by the media frenzy her attendance at Kansas City Chiefs games has generated over the past two years. 'As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast,' Swift says. 'I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me.' After several months flying under the radar, the US megastar re-emerged with a bang on Monday, announced as a special guest on this week's podcast. Shortly after, her official website was updated teasing big news with a cryptic two-hour countdown, which ultimately resulted in news of a forthcoming album. But fans were left wanting, with no new imagery, no release dates, and no details about a track list. Swift's website instead directs users to pre-order a The Life of a Showgirl vinyl or cassette, with shipping set for October. No doubt this was all a deliberate strategy for Swifties to tune into the Kelce brothers' podcast. What we have deciphered, thus far, is it certainly looks to have a pop, theatrical flare, with plenty of sparkles, and colours of orange and mint green featured heavily. It's been heavily reported Swedish producer Max Martin – who has collaborated with Swift on several of her biggest pop tracks – co-produced the upcoming album. Martin is also the mastermind behind some of the most iconic pop songs of this generation, including Britney Spears' Baby One More Time, Katy Perry's Roar, The Weeknd's Blinding Lights and Backstreet Boys'
