Hasiru Bengaluru micro-forests BBMP UnboxingBLR Foundation's (UBLR) '' urban-forestry initiative, in association with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), was inaugurated on Friday by the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at Nehru Planetarium. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BBMP, UBLR has taken up 'Hasiru Bengaluru' with an aim to transform unused or under-utilised public spaces into high-densitywill assist in identifying suitable sites, provide access for implementation, and facilitate the use of BBMP-owned parks and premises for public engagement and awareness programmes. NTPC, Bihar govt join hands for plantation drive
Patna: NTPC Eastern Region-I headquarters observed the World Environment Day with a series of environmental initiatives and a special ceremony at their Patna facility on Thursday. The organisation also announced plans for a major plantation initiative in partnership with the Bihar govt for the current fiscal year. Regional executive director Sudip Nag led the celebrations, administering a pledge to employees and emphasising the organisation's commitment to sustainability. "World Environment Day is not merely symbolic but a powerful reminder that we are all stewards of this planet," Nag stated. The celebration included a plantation drive within the township complex. NTPC's commitment to environmental conservation is reflected in their annual nationwide plantation of over 100,000 saplings. The event was attended by senior officials, including GM (OS) Mathew E Kavoor and RHOHR Anil Kumar Chawla.

NTPC Kayamkulam celebrated World Environment Day with initiatives aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental awareness on Thursday. A plantation drive was organised to mark the occasion. Debdutta Sinha, head of project, NTPC Kayamkulam, and Mangala Hareendran, head of human resources, administered the environment day pledge to participants. Keeping in line with this year's theme #BeatPlasticPollution, Anand Malak, assistant general manager (O and M/Solar), called for reduced plastic usage and encouraged employees to adopt eco-friendly practices. As part of the green initiative, coconut saplings were planted on the NTPC campus by employees, family members, children and Central Industrial Security Force personnel.
