Moment police dog sinks teeth into snivelling thug after he brutally attacked woman in street robbery

THIS is the moment a police dog sank its teeth into a squealing thug after he attacked a woman in the street.
Leslie Sedgewick followed the lone woman before ambushing her from behind as she walked to work in Middlesbrough.

The 44-year-old then punched and kicked her to the ground before stealing her mobile during the attack.
She managed to flee the horror and alert police after suffering a suspected broken nose and a chipped tooth.
Footage shows PC Lee Whitehouse arrive on the scene with police dog Kira following the December 20 robbery.
The cop told Sedgewick to stop but he instead fled to nearby garages where he was tackled by PD Kira.
Bodycam shows the thug squealing in terror as the dog keeps a grip on his arm.
At one point, he pathetically squeals: "I'm sorry!"
Police later discovered Sedgwick had changed his clothes and dumped the woman's stolen items at a house nearby.
He has now been jailed for four years and five months after he pleaded guilty to robbery.
The victim told Teesside Crown Court how she had to hide her horror injuries from her child "so she didn't see and ask what had happened to me".
She also revealed she was "petrified" during the attack and did not know if she was "going to die".
The woman added: "I am constantly in fear that I don't know who is around me or what they are capable of doing."
Detective Constable Pierce Ditchburn said: "This was a terrifying attack on a lone woman early in the morning, just a few days before Christmas.
"Leslie Sedgewick targeted the woman for her mobile phone and has been attempting to steal a bike in the moments leading up to this attack.
"No one should ever have to be afraid to go anywhere alone.
"I'm pleased that Sedgewick is now behind bars, and hope that this justice can help provide some comfort to the victim in this case."

Cllr Evans, who represents Ammanford, told colleagues on the place, sustainability and climate change scrutiny committee that he'd come across situations where dogs didn't appear to be under proper control on the riverside walk between Pontamman and Brynamman. "And you have a situation where you have these dog poo bags hanging off various bits of shrubbery like Christmas tree decorations." Article continues below The Plaid councillor said he couldn't understand this mentality, with the bags ending up "languishing" on shrubs and trees for years to come. Cllr Evans wondered if he as a councillor could request owners to put uncontrolled dogs on a lead, and "probably suffer the verbal abuse that will entail afterwards". He asked this as the existing order defined authorised officers of the council as someone who was authorised in writing and not necessarily a council employee. An officer at the meeting said he would get back to Cllr Evans, adding that at present authorised officers of the council referred to enforcement officers only. The officer said increased enforcement could be looked at for the riverside area in question. The meeting was reminded that there were dog restrictions at a strip of Llansteffan beach between May and September. A one-mile section of Cefn Sidan beach is also a dog-free zone during these months. Further restrictions can be added to public space protection orders but only where there is evidence to do so. Article continues below The order relating to dogs in Carmarthenshire first came into effect in 2016 and has to be renewed every three years. A report before the committee said from 2016 to the end of 2024 there were 3,425 dog fouling complaints and that 136 fixed penalty tickets were issued and seven people prosecuted for not paying the fine.
