Phillies' Jose Alvarado wrote a sweet message to his mom on his cap for Mother's Day
Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jose Alvarado put quite the wholesome message on his cap during the team's Sunday night game.
During the Phillies' 3-0 Sunday night win over the Cleveland Guardians, Philadelphia turned to Alvarado to keep things rolling in the eighth inning. And when Alvarado appeared on the mound for the game, ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball cameras caught the pitcher with unusual writing on his cap.
The message? "Happy Mother's Day. I love Mom."
Seriously, that is just so sweet. This isn't the first time an athlete has shouted out their mom on Mother's Day and it won't be the last, but Alvarado seemingly handwriting the message himself before going out to pitch in the eighth is real wholesome stuff.

Barkley was a guest on the "Dan Patrick Show," and said, "If they're being honest, we're gonna probably work on ESPN one-third or half the time." Barkley has been outspoken about his concerns with the move because of his schedule. He has made it clear he doesn't want to take on more work as he is set to move between the two networks. "If they start trying to work me too much between ESPN and TNT, I'm just gonna walk on home," Barkley added. "I said, but the best I can do is two years. And them other five years, they got no chance of happening. So I said, you know what, I'll give y'all two years. They're like, can we get three? By KYLE HIGHTOWER AP Sports Writer Rookie Marcelo Mayer hit two of Boston's four solo home runs and the Red Sox outlasted the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Wednesday night. Abraham Toro added a go-ahead homer in the fifth inning, and Jarren Duran also hit one to help Boston earn its second series win over the Rays this season. Walker Buehler (5-4) allowed three runs off six hits over seven innings and struck out seven to earn his fifth victory since coming off the injured list on May 20. Aroldis Chapman pitched a scorelless ninth to get his 12th save. Yandy Díaz had a two-run homer for Tampa Bay. Zack Littell (6-6) lasted six innings, yielding eight hits and striking out six. It was just the third time in 19 games that a Rays starter has allowed more than three earned runs in 19 games. The Red Sox needed their bullpen to get out of a late jam. With Boston leading 4-3 with one out in the eighth, Tampa Bay loaded the bases. But Greg Wiessert struck out Matt Thaiss to end the threat.
