Doechii Playfully Owns Her Met Gala 'Umbrella Moment' at Glastonbury
At Glastonbury's West Holts stage on June 28, Doechii transformed the Met Gala's viral 'umbrella moment' into a display of empowerment and humor.
Fresh off the buzz surrounding her dramatic Met Gala prep—where she famously yelled,
'I need four f‑king umbrellas!'
to shield her outfit from paparazzi—she cheekily referenced the incident during a high-energy performance of 'Alter Ego.'
Onstage, amid booming beats and dancers, she mimicked the gesture, recreating the umbrella shield in a tongue-in-cheek nod to her own viral moment.
This playful callback came as Doechii was praised for delivering an educational yet electric set at Glastonbury.
Reviews described it as a 'masterclass in hip‑hop' — part history lesson, part dance spectacle, weaving in tributes to Wu‑Tang Clan, Nas, Missy Elliott, and Daft Punk.
Her 'school of hip‑hop' concept included thematic sections like 'Bars,' 'Flow,' and 'Storytelling.'
During 'Alter Ego,' she used the umbrella gesture not only to disarm critics but to show how she transforms adversity into stage currency.
The crowd roared as Doechii reclaimed the narrative.
On social media, fans applauded the move as a sign of confidence and self-awareness.
Critics noted that rather than shy away, Doechii leaned into the moment, signaling maturity and control.
At the Met Gala, she later defended her actions as part of managing anxiety in a high‑pressure setting, explaining in a video post that the night was overstimulating and emotionally charged.
'God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas,' she quipped, adding a laughing emoji to lighten the mood.
In just her first Glastonbury headline appearance, Doechii not only showcased her rapid ascent in hip‑hop but also her ability to spin controversy into performance art—owning every umbrella, beat, and bar.

Sabrina Carpenter Ties Her Own Biggest Song As She Scores New Platinum Plaques
Sabrina Carpenter earns 13 new RIAA certifications as hits like "Please Please Please" and "Taste" ... More soar, and she matches her own biggest song. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 05: Sabrina Carpenter attends the 2025 Met Gala Celebrating "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by) Americans have been listening to a lot of Sabrina Carpenter lately. The pop superstar finally broke into the top 40 world a little over a year ago, thanks to her album Short n' Sweet and the singles featured on it, such as "Espresso," "Taste," and "Please Please Please," among others. Carpenter had been making music for many years prior, but had to wait quite a while before she became a certified hitmaker. The Grammy winner recently earned multiple new certifications from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), as many of her biggest songs scored new honors or snagged certifications for the very first time. 13 New Certifications for Sabrina Carpenter 13 of Carpenter's songs collected some love from the RIAA in late June. Seven of those tracks hit gold status, the lowest possible tier, which means they secured their first certifications. That roundup includes a mix of older tracks as well as some of her newer offerings, such as "Looking at Me," "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying," "Eyes Wide Open," "Don't Smile," "Dumb and Poetic," "Slim Pickins," and "Busy Woman," the focus track from the deluxe edition of Short n' Sweet. 'Bed Chem' Becomes a Multi-Platinum Smash Several of Carpenter's biggest tunes from Short n' Sweet advanced again to multi-platinum status. "Bed Chem" pushed from platinum to double platinum, while "Taste" inched one rung higher and is now a triple platinum smash. Fellow tracks "Sue Me," "Good Graces," and "Juno" became platinum successes for the first time. "Please Please Please" Ties 'Espresso' "Please Please Please," one of Carpenter's biggest singles so far, is now a five-times platinum blockbuster. Since it was certified triple platinum in December of last year, it has racked up another two million additional equivalent units, with that sum spread out between pure purchases and streaming activity. "Please Please Please" is now tied with "Espresso," both from Short n' Sweet, as Carpenter's highest-certified tracks. "Espresso" hasn't added to its total since December 2024, so the RIAA could increase its sum again soon.

Rihanna Teaches Riot Rose What Fashionably Late Really Looks Like
What does the concept of being 'fashionably late' mean to you? 10-15 minutes to give your host some grace? Well, for Rihanna it means being the one to close out every Met Gala red carpet (while announcing your third baby and still winning with your look) and the final star to take your fashion week front row seat. It doesn't look great on everyone, but the world stops and starts for Rih Rih. Except for yesterday evening, in Paris. Rihanna and her young son Riot Rose stepped out in the city for an appointment at Dior on Avenue Montaigne, to find the boutique was unexpectedly closed. By reports, though, it was 1a.m. The pop star kept up her striking maternity style street style though, wearing a navy layered shrunken polo by Alexander Wang that sat above her bump, as well as some turned down gray cargo pants from the brand, and black ballet flats. And despite her vast and varied handbag collection, she's kept her new canary yellow and red stitched Dior book tote on her arm for her entire Paris trip so far—the Bram Stoker's Dracula-emblazoned bag by new creative director Jonathan Anderson, who Rih has supported through both his Loewe days and his eponymous brand. She wore her hair up with loose curly pieces, a slick two-tone lip, and a pair of oval spectacles. Son Riot Rose—who she shares with partner A$AP Rocky—looked adorable in a striped blue and gray two piece, checkerboard Vans slip-ons, and a pacifier as his own star accessory.

Cassius Gems: Rumored New ‘Wonder Woman' Adria Arjona's Most Stunning Instagram Moments
Source: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis / Getty Who you choose to follow on social media is crucial, but when you're a movie director like James Gunn, hitting that follow button could reveal a major casting decision. A rumor has been floating around that Gunn may choose Adria Arjona as the next Wonder Woman to replace Gal Gadot. Suspicions became more concrete when she was spotted in his Instagram following list, so Extra asked Gunn about it while he was making the media rounds for the latest Superman movie. Of course, he coyly avoided a straightforward answer, saying, 'I follow Adria on Instagram but everybody came out [and said], 'He just followed her, that means she's Wonder Woman,'' Gunn said. He added, 'She'd be a great Wonder Woman, by the way.' Certainly not helping his case, he brings up that he worked with Arjona on one of his films a few years ago, confirming they already have a working relationship. 'She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We've been friends and have known each other since that time. I followed her then, I didn't just follow her,' he added. The movie he's referring to is Greg McLean's The Belko Experiment , which was released in 2016 and written by Gunn. Back in April, social media had already noticed that he'd double-tapped some of Arjona's photos, and Cinemablend asked her about the Wonder Woman casting rumor; she, too, avoided a proper answer by praising him. 'I love James Gunn. He gave me my first movie ever, which was like my first studio movie,' Arjona responded. 'So I owe him a lot.' However, when pressed further on whether the social media follow meant anything, the actress crossed her fingers and said, 'I don't know.' The Puerto Rico native may have gotten her first big film nod from Gunn, but she's carried that momentum into other roles in Pacific Rim Uprising , 6 Underground , Morbius , and Father Of The Bride . She also served as a beloved character in Star Wars: Andor, and fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the comic book world. While she hasn't been named as the next Wonder Woman yet, get to know her better through her Instagram photos below.
