England fans upset as Agyemang omitted from Royal Family photo
The 19-year-old Agyemang, who is Black, saved England at the brink with late goals in both their narrow quarter-final win over Sweden and semi-final victory over Italy.
"I think that would never, ever be intentional," England coach Sarina Wiegman said, when asked about the omission in Saturday's pre-game press conference. "I think the message from the Royal Family is that they really, really support us, and we really appreciate that. It's unfortunate that (Agyemang) is not on the picture, but there's all good intentions."
The Royal Family posted their congratulations on reaching the Euro final on several social media platforms.
"Your journey to this stage has been nothing short of remarkable, showcasing the skill, determination (and test of nerve!) for which your team is so rightly celebrated," the message said. "Knowing the Lionesses' fighting spirit, I suspect we are in for another thrilling encounter on Sunday.
"Your achievements continue to inspire countless girls and women across the nation, proving once again that with dedication and teamwork, anything is possible. Good luck, England. May you roar to victory once more."
The Royal Family did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the post.
It includes a photo of England's starting 11 for a game earlier in the tournament and includes Jess Carter, who announced earlier in the tournament that she was coming off of social media after receiving racist abuse. The post also includes several other players in action.
The post was met with an outcry from many fans on social media.
"Black women aren't invisible. Let's stop erasing them," Miriam Walker-Khan, the founder of Brown Girl Sport, wrote on X.

An old Indian lady stood at a bride's procession and innocently said: 'Lesbian? Her birthday's in March. I thought she was Pisces?' Another piped up: 'She's not Lebanese, she's Punjabi!' When I first saw this scene from the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham, I was in shock. I couldn't imagine seeing an old Indian woman say the word 'lesbian'. And since then, my queer friends and I quote these lines at least once a month, while rolling around laughing. But it's not just a silly joke – it's a pinnacle moment in a film that changed so many lives. For South Asian people, Bend It Like Beckham offered insight into our culture, the racism we face and the expectations we have of each other. It put my South Asian hometown, Hounslow, on the map and it is still the film we go back to when we want to talk about representation. But it also became a queer cult film for its suggestive subtext, quotable queer lines and coming-out storyline. So when I heard that the director, Gurinder Chada, has confirmed a sequel – hopefully with members of the original cast – I was ecstatic. But I had one thought: it better be more queer. No subtext. No nods and winks. Gay. As. Hell. The 2002 Bend it Like Beckham revolved around Jess (Parminder Nagra) a young girl who wants to play football professionally. She meets Jules (Keira Knightley) and joins the girl's local football team, Hounslow Harriers, against her parent's wishes. It was a hit – made on only a $5.6 million budget, Bend it Like Beckham grossed over $76.8 million at the global box office. While the film didn't explicitly stipulate Jess' sexuality, her rejection of over-sexualisation of teenage girls and disinterest in boys made her the blueprint for a baby queer like me, and many others, to help understand ourselves. In one scene, when Jess and Jules get accepted for football scholarships in the United States, they celebrate with a hug and almost kiss while embracing – to my queer teenage eyes, they were basically fully making out. In another, Jess' best friend Tony comes out by telling her: 'I really like Beckham', giving her a pointed look. 'But you're Indian!', Jess exclaims – just as many have exclaimed to me when I came out. And, like the accepting friend she is, she instantly accepts him. Jess' cut off vest/hoodie was, and still probably is, the most lesbian outfit I've seen on an Indian woman on TV, and it helped me accept my own style. As a young teenager, I forced myself to dress and act for the male gaze. But by 17, I became an emo, wearing multiple studded belts, thick eyeliner around my eyes and baggy clothes. I was often called a 'tomboy' or 'weird' because I had rejected the expectation to marry a 'good Indian boy', and given space to my own expression. Some of my family had a similar reaction towards me that Jess' family had to her in the film, exclaiming that I had to embrace Indian traditions and be more like the Indian girls they knew. They wanted me to be less strange…less queer. But when Hounslow Harriers' coach Joe (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), says, 'Your parents don't always know what's best for you' I realised that the concept of 'respecting your elders' was a technique of control. The film could have been made for me. It's not just the narrative of the film, either, but the subject matter: women's football is indeed currently very gay. Today, there is a significant presence of openly LGBTQ+ players in women's teams. While the characters in Bend it Like Beckham would joke about sleeping with men and have crushes on their coach, the current Euro-winning women's England team today is made up of players like Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, Jess Carter and Lauren Hemp who are openly LGBTQ+. Gurinder Chadha revealed her sequel aims to release in 2027, to align with the FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. Chadha has been quoted as saying that she is 'excited to revisit the original characters and revive the enduring story and build on the legacy we helped to create for the women's game' and that, 'women's football is more competitive, more exciting, and more global than ever. Arsenal transfer news: Eberechi Eze, Rodrygo, Ollie Watkins and more
Arsenal are setting in motion the first steps of a productive summer as they look to buck their trend of second-place finishes next term. It was once again a case of close but not close enough for Mikel Arteta 's side in 2024/25. Finishing second fiddle to the Premier League champions for a third successive season, the Gunners endured another trophyless campaign after their Champions League push fell at the hands of eventual winners PSG. A key reason for their failure to achieve was an attacking injury crisis that forced Mikel Merino to take up a role of makeshift number nine, and despite their undeniable quality in the starting XI, Arsenal's depth is far from good enough for a team hopeful of major titles. And with numerous players already on the chopping block, Arteta has promised a 'big' summer of recruitment at the Emirates. With the transfer window having re-opened on 16 June, a striker was top of the club's shopping list, and they've finally got their man after completing a move for Viktor Gyokeres. Elsewhere, deals for midfielders and defenders are being pursued, with Noni Madueke putting pen to paper and Eberechi Eze being considered. New sporting director Andrea Berta is leading the club's transfer dealings, and Arsenal will be hoping he can replicate his Atleti exploits in London as Arteta looks to lead the club back to the Premier League pinnacle for the first time since 2006. Arrivals & areas to improve The obvious priority for Arsenal will be to sign at least one world class striker. Inconsistency on the Gabriel Martinelli front means that a winger has been targeted, with Noni Madueke bringing healthy competition for the Brazilian (if not replacing him entirely). Elsewhere, cover has been secured in defence - with the Gunners having signed Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera – while a backup goalkeeper for David Raya has been acquired with the arrival of Kepa Arrizabalaga. Eze impressed for Palace last season and scored the winner in the Eagles' memorable FA Cup final triumph, with a goal that perfectly illustrated his ability in the final third. Reports suggest the 27-year-old is undeterred by the imminent arrival of Noni Madueke, and Arsenal are said to be hoping to agree a deal below his £68m release clause. Benjamin Sesko, RB Leipzig While a deal for Gyokeres has been completed, Arsenal could well turn their attentions back to RB Leipzig sharpshooter Benjamin Sesko if they feel further depth is required up top. The 22-year-old has a penchant for ripping the net off and Arteta reportedly sanctioned talks with the Slovenian, with the German club apparently looking for between £65m and £85m. Rodrygo, Real Madrid On the wing, Arsenal could look to provide further reinforcements in the form of Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The Brazil international appears to be heading for the Santiago Bernabeu exit door this summer after being used sparingly at the Club World Cup. Premier League rivals Liverpool are also said to be interested. Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa A man perpetually linked with the Gunners, you can never write off a move to the Emirates for Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa talisman has long been admired by Mikel Arteta and could be sought as Arsenal look to prevent last year's failure to adequately stack their attacking options from repeating itself.

Thomas signs new Bristol City deal
