Following a busy NFL offseason filled with trades, free-agent moves and the draft, Ben Arthur distilled each team's offseason into a word. Check out what Arthur had to say about the Eagles: Reloaded
"The Eagles may have lost key players on their defensive line, like Josh Sweat and Milton Williams, but they've added Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari on low-risk, high-reward contracts as replacements. Former first-round pick Kenyon Green also enters the picture for guard depth after Mekhi Becton's departure in free agency. With the core of last year's Super Bowl-winning team returning and the expected growth of young players, Philadelphia should be a threat to repeat."

Browns Shakeup Defensive Front After Cutting Super Bowl Champion
Browns Shakeup Defensive Front After Cutting Super Bowl Champion originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A month out from training camp teams are making their final moves to set up their 90-man rosters for positional competition through the coming month and a half. Thursday, the Cleveland Browns made a shocking decision in navigating that process. Advertisement Cleveland released veteran pass rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo, signing kicker Andre Szmyt in a corresponding move. Okoronkwo was set to enter the final year of a three-year deal he signed back in 2022. The dead cap hit for the Browns comes in at just under $2 million. Given the post-June 1 designation his dead money will be spread across two seasons, costing the team $4.7 million in 2025. Okoronkwo had 37 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks in his two years with the Browns. He previously spent the first three years of his career with the Los Angeles Rams and won Super Bowl LVI before signing with the Houston Texans for the 2022 season. Okoronkwo had served as a rotational piece for this defense though Cleveland's pass rushing unit quickly became more crowded and a lot younger. The young contingent including Alex Wright, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Isaiah McGuire will all get an opportunity to make an impression through the coming weeks at camp. Advertisement This all comes in the shadow of the biggest move of the Browns' offseason, signing defensive superstar Myles Garrett to a four-year $160 million extension. As of now that figure marks the largest annual salary for a defensive player in NFL history. He was slated to be the highest earning non quarterback in the league before the Cincinnati Bengals reset the record with an extension for Ja'Marr Chase weeks after Garrett's deal. Who Browns 'Want' To Win Starting QB Job Secret Revealed
Who Browns 'Want' To Win Starting QB Job Secret Revealed originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The convoluted Cleveland Browns quarterback room is about to know drama. And maybe the Browns like it that way. ... because, hey, if you're not going to be good, at least be interesting, right? Advertisement OK, it's too early to suggest that Cleveland is destined for doom. But training camp is less than a month away as four new faces joust for the starting QB job after the Browns learned that Deshaun Watson suffered a significant setback in his recovery from an Achilles injury. So who's who? Cleveland added Joe Flacco. And Kenny Pickett. And in the NFL draft, both Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Four quarterbacks on the 90-man roster? Not a problem. A lack of pecking order clarity? The allure of "competition'' aside ... A problem. There are certainly expectations and early projections for what the totem pole will look like. Advertisement Some — rather outlandishly — see Sanders leapfrogging everybody. Many have the wily veteran and fan favorite Flacco earning the starting job with Pickett and the two rookies behind him. However, new Browns receiver Diontae Johnson has an interesting take about how he sees this quarterback battle shaking out. Johnson believes Pickett is the leader in the clubhouse ahead of training camp. 'I think they are going to roll with Kenny (Pickett) for right now,' Johnson said on the "Sport and Suits" podcast. 'I've been seeing Kenny going like right now with the ones. Then Joe (Flacco) will come in. "I think they are probably going to roll with (Pickett) just to see like he's coming off a season with Philly and having a Super Bowl. So, I think they are going to stick with him through the preseason. Then you know they can live with Joe and what he brings to the table.' Advertisement And now there is this: While the Browns surely want to keep this a secret should they really feel this way, NFL Network's "The Insiders" league reporter Gregg Rosenthal addressed Johnson's take. "I think Diontae Johnson is right that the Browns want Kenny Pickett to win the job," Rosenthal said. Rosenthal went on to say that he predicts "Flacco will win the job.'' But that's an opinion. If it's a fact that the Browns have a private desire for Pickett to be the guy? That — and not anybody else in the Cleveland quarterback hierarchy, not even Sanders — is the story. Cam Newton Uses Joe Flacco to Deliver a Hard Truth to Shedeur Sanders
Cam Newton Uses Joe Flacco to Deliver a Hard Truth to Shedeur Sanders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Auburn Tigers Heisman Trophy Award winner Cam Newton had an exceptional football career, but it did not come without its speed bumps. He began his college career with the Florida Gators, where off-the-field issues resulted in just 13 pass attempts over two years before transferring to Blinn College. Advertisement Newton grinded at the JUCO level for a season before remerging at Auburn, leading the Tigers to a national championship in his lone season and vaulting himself to the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Cleveland Browns quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders (left) and Joe Flacco (right)Ken Blaze-Imagn Images; Jeff Lange / USA TODAY NETWORK The dual-threat passer hit the ground running against the world's toughest competition, winning Rookie of the Year in 2011 and the MVP in 2015. Newton followed up his MVP season with a career-worst campaign but then had back-to-back respectable seasons in 2017 and 2018, followed by a Lisfranc fracture that derailed his 2019 year. Newton played two more seasons before his retirement and has since transitioned into joining the media, highlighted by his show "\4th&1 with Cam Newton." Advertisement On Thursday, Newton, as he does every week, shared his thoughts on the top stories surrounding the NFL, drawing on his experiences in both the NFL and college. Newton spoke on the dynamic that is likely to take place within the Cleveland Browns quarterback room, with the NFC North club housing veteran Super Bowl champ Joe Flacco and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Newton believes it would be beneficial for the young quarterbacks to remain diligent in Flacco's everyday habits, including film study and workouts, rather than relying on him for mentorship. "It is nobody's job to teach you nothing. It is your job to make sure that you learn at your rate," said Newton when discussing why most young quarterbacks flameout, or at least never reach star status. Newton continued, saying, "You can't take the elevator to success… this game is manual." Advertisement Cleveland made waves this offseason, selecting the sliding Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Colorado Buffaloes last season while finishing eighth in Heisman voting.
