'Courage and composure' crucial
Port Vale boss Darren Moore has called on his players to keep cool heads ahead of the final two matches of the season as they aim to seal promotion to League One.The Valiants currently sit second in League Two and will clinch an immediate return to the third tier as early as Saturday if they win at AFC Wimbledon and fourth-placed Walsall fail to beat Accrington Stanley."The words that you'd use for the team are courage and composure," Moore told BBC Radio Stoke."I think those two [words] will be evident over the next couple of games, but we've got a great trust in this group - they are a joy to work with."And it is the club's trust in Moore, who was retained as the club's manager following last season's relegation, which looks set to be repaid with an instant return to League One.However, the former West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday boss is not leaving anything up to chance."If you look at this season, it's the most contested League Two for many seasons," he added."It looks likely it will go down to the last game [of the season], so credit to everyone. What we're doing at Vale here is focussing on us."Monday's last-gasp draw at home against Grimsby has kept Moore's men on course for promotion, and after the match, the 50-year-old confirmed club captain Ben Garrity has been ruled out of the final run-in through injury."He's ran his race for this season," Moore said after Garrity limped off in the 77th minute of Vale's 3-2 defeat at Carlisle United on Good Friday."So, we thank him for his efforts on the pitch, but now he'll support the team from off the field, where he'll continue his captain's role."

Robbie Williams trolls Arsenal with Tottenham trophy joke while performing at the Emirates Stadium
Robbie Williams divided north London on Friday night by trolling Arsenal fans with a pro-Tottenham joke while performing at the Emirates Stadium. Former Take That band member Williams — who is now better known as a solo artist — supports Port Vale, having grown up in Stoke-on-Trent. But the 51-year-old also has a soft spot for Spurs. He showed this back in 2023 after James Black, a lifelong Spurs supporter who performs live music on matchdays at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, reworked the chorus of Robbie's 1997 mega-hit 'Angels' to create an ode to Ange Postecoglou. It went viral on social media and caught the attention of Robbie himself, who joined Black to record a special version, which the popstar shared via Instagram. During that video, after singing 'I'm Loving Big Ange Instead', Williams quipped: 'I guess I'm a Spurs fan now then.' In response to this, Tottenham sent Williams and his wife Ayda personalised Spurs shirts with their names on the back. Postecoglou famously went on to win the UEFA Europa League in his penultimate game as Tottenham manager last month. Despite ending Tottenham's 17-year wait for a trophy and sealing a spot in next season's Champions League in the process, the Australian was sacked on Friday. His dismissal was largely due to Tottenham's dreadful domestic form, which resulted in their lowest Premier League finish ever. But although Spurs finished 17th — just one place above the relegation zone — many people have claimed that they actually enjoyed a more successful season than fierce rivals Arsenal, who came second in the Premier League after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Spurs have now won four major UEFA men's titles in their 142-year history — three more than the Gunners, who lifted the Cup Winners' Cup in 1994. Williams cheekily referenced this at the home of Arsenal on Friday. He began the set-up to his joke by asking fans in the crowd to cheer if they supported Arsenal. He then encouraged those who did not support the Gunners to boo. Next, Williams asked the crowd a question: 'How far away are Arsenal from a European trophy?' He gleefully answered that question himself by declaring: 'Four f****** miles!' — the approximate distance between the Emirates and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Williams was quick to gesture that he was only kidding, urging any Arsenal supporters not to take his joke to heart. But many Gunners fans hit back via social media, where they were keen to point out that Arsenal were the current holders of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

‘How far?' – Robbie Williams brutally trolls Arsenal fans with Spurs joke during his own gig at the Emirates
ROBBIE WILLIAMS took aim at Arsenal's lack of European success during his gig at the Emirates Stadium last night. The former Take That singer performed at the Gunners' stadium as part of his international tour on Friday and Saturday. 5 While entertaining the fans packed into the ground, Williams couldn't help but take a cheeky dig at Arsenal - teasing them for the success of local rivals Tottenham. Joking about Tottenham's Europa League glory this season, and Arsenal's failure to win a European trophy since the 1994 Cup Winners' Cup, Williams asked: "How far are Arsenal from a European trophy?". Only to reply: "Four f*****g miles". Tottenham fans were absolutely loving the tongue-in-cheek jibe, which was met with a huge cheer inside the stadium. On social media, one fan wrote: "I always liked Robbie". While another added: "No way I've just seen Robbie Williams bantering Arsenal on their own turf". Arsenal Women won the Champions League this season. 5 5 And a second posted: "I think, Robbie, you'll find you're actually stood in the home of a team that has two Champions League trophies…" Spurs fans are already fond of Williams after they nicked his hit song 'Angels' to create a chant for now sacked manager Ange Postecoglou. Robbie Williams sings version of Angels for Ange Postecoglou And Williams even posted a video of himself belting out the tune with the Tottenham lyrics back in 2023, declaring: "Guess I'm a Spurs fan now". In reality Williams is a diehard Port Vale fan, regularly attending the club's games. While he was named as Port Vale's Club President in February last year and has a bar named after him at Vale Park. 5 5
