Freund gives update on Gnabry and Laimer
It looked like Bayern's Serge Gnabry and Konrad Laimer were substituted off after injuries in yesterday's Franz Beckenbauer Supercup victory in Stuttgart, but Christoph Freund has now confirmed they will not be in danger of missing Friday's Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig. 'Serge (Gnabry) fell on his knee and also had a slight cramp. He was pretty tired, too. But it shouldn't be too serious," said Bayern's sporting director. "Laimer had a cramp and had already had problems with his little toe. All of that combined was a bit too much. But it shouldn't be that bad." Harry Kane spoke about Bayern's lack of depth for the upcoming season. With no settlement on Nick Woltemade's proposed move, Bayern are now prioritizing the deal to bring Christopher Nkunku, who is out of Chelsea's squad for their opening Premier League fixture.
