Form stable chases winning treble at Hawkesbury

The form stable of John O'Shea and Tom Charlton are poised to continue their successful run when they head to Hawkesbury on Tuesday.
The pair combined to quinella last week's Group 1 Queensland Derby with Maison Louis accounting for King Of Thunder.
They won with Livin' Thing on the Kensington track at Randwick on Wednesday and backed that up with Unusual Suspect scoring at Gosford on Thursday.
O'Shea and Charlton have three runners set to start at Hawkesbury with Celtic Sin down to contest the Blakes Marine Class 1 Handicap (1500m) with Andrew Adkins taking the ride. O'Shea and Charlton also have a runner in the Irresistible Pools & Spa Benchmark 64 Handicap (1800m). Zac Lloyd is booked to ride Hovland in that middle-distance event.
'Celtic Sin won well at Wyong when resuming from a spell,' O'Shea said. 'She put a good margin in them in that event. If she can repeat that effort, she will be hard to hold out again on Tuesday.'
Hovland has the advantage of gate one in his event and was only just edged out at Gosford in his latest start. 'Hovland is a talented horse,' O'Shea said. 'He's only had the four starts, and he won well at Hawkesbury at his second start. His start effort at Gosford was good and he is ready to run well again.'
Local trainer Brad Widdup also has a number of top chances set to go around at the Hawkesbury meeting. Widdup has Reverberates (Zac Wadick) and Jump In The Line (Dylan Gibbons) in the St Johns Park Bowling Club Maiden Handicap (1800m), while Tommy Berry will partner The Grey in the Clarendon Tavern Benchmark 64 Handicap (1100m).
Reverberates and Jump In The Line are both coming out of the same Provincial Maiden at Wyong in which they finished second and third respectively.

O'Shea and Charlton seeking big day on heavy Kembla track

Randwick co-trainers John O'Shea and Tom Charlton have been enjoying a steady flow of winners of late, and the duo will look to improve on that when they send around a host of runners at Kembla Grange on Thursday. O'Shea and Charlton will be out to start the day in winning style with the stable having four runners, Isosceles, Ocean Mariner, Strongside, and Cellarmaster, engaged in the Mollie Fitzgerald Champion Apprentice Super Maiden Handicap (1400m). Chad Schofield has been booked to ride Isosceles, with the Pierro gelding on debut after two recent trials. Andrew Adkins will partner Ocean Park gelding and another first start in the shape of Ocean Mariner, which has had a number of trials. Dylan Gibbons will be aboard Strongside, a son of Super Seth that is also on debut after four trials in total. Apprentice Zac Wadick rides Cellarmaster, which has had one start for a fourth at Newcastle behind Hillier. 'Cellarmaster ran well on debut at Newcastle,' said O'Shea. 'He had run well in his trials before that and was only beaten three lengths. The winner [Hillier] has since gone to Flemington on a Saturday and finished second.' O'Shea and Charlton combine with three-kilogram claiming apprentice Holly Durnan when Mamushka contests the Price Racing Champion Trainer/ Local Trainer F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200m). Loading 'Mamushka is a nicely bred mare being by Capitalist and out of group 1 winning mare Steps In Time,' O'Shea said. 'She won her first two starts at Goulburn and Gosford earlier in the year, and then she went for a spell after a close-up fifth at Wyong. 'She's had two trials in preparation for her return, and she won the latest of them at Randwick.'

Debutants set to dazzle in Wyong season finale

It's a day for an exciting new breed when Wyong hosts a strong meeting on Thursday to close out the current season. A group of late season unraced metropolitan two-year-olds lock horns in a Maiden Handicap over 1300m, and it might just provide an early pointer for some feature three-year-old targets heading towards spring. In fact, only two runners with race experience in the original 13-strong field – Menshevik and Watson, both quoted around the $6.50 mark in early betting – are in single figures for what looms as a fascinating race. And two debutants look set to fight for favouritism in a race where punters could support many on show. Impuriteze, a striking chestnut filly by multiple Group 1 winner Trapeze Artist, looms as a key runner for the Michael Freedman stable at Randwick. She starts behind two progressive trials on both firm and soft ground, and draws to get an economical run under jockey Keagan Latham who sticks solid from the latest trial. But right alongside her in the market is exciting colt Extra Heights, a son of high-class sprint sire Extreme Choice in the rival Peter Snowden yard. He also opens his career behind two progressive trials, and significantly was withdrawn from a race at Canterbury on Wednesday to be saved for this. Extra Heights, who was eye-catching through the line at his most recent trial, drew the inside with Tom Sherry aboard.
