First picture of tragic teen who died after being found in flat as boy arrested
A tragic girl who died after being found unresponsive in a property aged 13 has been named and pictured for the first time.
The teen has been named locally by a devastated family member as Casey Louise.
The 13-year-old Mossley Hollins High School student is understood to have been living in Liverpool under the care system when she travelled to Huddersfield on Monday, August 11.
Casey was found unresponsive later that day, when emergency services were called to the flat on Sheepridge Road in Huddersfield.
She was taken to hospital, where she sadly died in the early hours of Tuesday, August 12. The cause of her death remains undetermined, with a post mortem examination calling it "unexplained pending further investigation".
West Yorkshire Police arrested a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and rape in relation to Casey's death. He has since been released on bail, Yorkshire Live reports.
Casey-Louise was named in a tribute from a family member on Friday, who wrote: "Suddenly and totally unexpected, on Tuesday 12th August our beautiful Casey-Louise gained her angel wings.
"Our family is absolutely devastated by this news. Can you please respect our privacy and give us time to grieve as a family."
The boy arrested in connection with her death was also arrested on suspicion of raping of a 16-year-old girl, in what police have referred to as a "separate incident" in Kirklees.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said at the time: "Detectives are working to fully understand the circumstances of the girl's death which is being treated as unexplained after a post mortem could not establish how she died."
The Force's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is spearheading the investigation, which police have described as being "complex" and "likely to be lengthy".

Vicki hits 'tragic' pervert Joel with a very serious warning in EastEnders
Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) has issued her final warning to sick Joel Marshall (Max Murray) in EastEnders. It's about time that somebody shuts down his disgusting behaviour once and for all – but with Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) reluctant to turn his back on his son, he's pretty much been given free reign to do whatever he wants. In tonight's episode, however, Vicki swore to put a stop to that. She can see that her partner is effectively enabling Joel's vile ways, and won't stand for it any longer. Soon after his arrival, we discovered that Joel had upskirted a pupil in his class, and her family had ordered him to leave Australia in exchange for their silence. They'd also accepted a hefty $50,000 sum. The teen showed no signs of changing – recording himself sleeping with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), and introducing Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to pornography. He then showed his new mate videos from an influencer, who spoke about women in a derogatory manner. The lads skived off school to take a trip into The City. On their journey home, Joel demanded Tommy whip out his phone and record something shocking. He stumbled through the carriage, falling onto a girl and touching her inappropriately. Later, Vicki met up with the victim and handed her £2,000 in exchange for her silence. In the aftermath, despite promising to do better, Joel has tore strips off Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), before seemingly leaking the latter's SecretCam content online. This came just days after Ross snapped branded his son a 'disgusting little pervert.' With the police reluctant to investigate, this couldn't be proved – but Stace' is adamant that he's responsible. Joel spiralled further after learning that Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) had aborted their unborn child, and attempted to slap her. A furious Vicki charged in his way, and dragged him home. He reeled off a number of sick ideologies, including his belief that reproduction is the purpose of womanhood. She begged him to open his eyes and wondered if he looked at her any different having not had any children herself. In a truly horrifying move, he asserted that if she pushes him further, she'd find out that a 'proper slapping would do [her] the world of good.' In tonight's episode, Joel goaded Stacey, spelling it out to her that he was responsible for leaking her content and didn't care about the consequences for her. She asserted that he was nothing more than a 'dirty, disgusting little perv' and while he may have fooled the others, he hadn't fooled her. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Meanwhile, Vicky attempted to corner Ross and fill him in on last week's events – but he quickly shut her down. More Trending Realising that her family's trauma would only continue for as long as Ross brushed off her concerns, she then caught Joel outside, calling him 'tragic'. He laughed in her face, but the smirk was soon wiped off when she told him in future she wouldn't hesitate to call the police. View More » Will Joel finally learn a lesson? ‘Orwellian' football club sacked steward for sending memes
Gennaro Romano, 49, was sacked by Norwich City Football Club in October 2023 after sending mocked-up images of Diane Abbott and Nicola Sturgeon alongside comments about Russell Brand to the head of the academy. The steward, who had a 12-year unblemished record, apologised and said he forwarded the WhatsApp messages by accident, an employment tribunal was told. The championship club sacked him for breaching its disciplinary policies, a decision described as 'riddled with unfairness'. A Norwich employment tribunal heard Mr Romano had been working as a steward on matchdays since 2011 alongside his main job with Royal Mail. In September 2023, he was accused of sending 'messages of an inappropriate nature' to Neil Hunter, head of The Canaries' academy operations. The photos were of former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon and MP Diane Abbott with captions about actor Russell Brand. 'This was at the time when the media was reporting that allegations of sexual assault were being made against Russell Brand,' the tribunal said. At a meeting with the club, he was shown a screen shot of two images received by Mr Hunter. Mr Romano claimed he had meant to send the photos to a friend who is also called Neil, but had forwarded them to his colleague by accident, the tribunal heard. The Carrow Road steward admitted the pictures were 'not nice', and apologised a number of times throughout the process, the tribunal was told. But club managers decided that he had not shown 'sufficient understanding or remorse', and sacked him. Upholding Mr Romano's claim, the tribunal said the club's decision-making process had been 'riddled with unfairness'. 'It was not one which any reasonable employer would have taken,' it added. Describing the club's actions, the tribunal said: 'If the club intends its disciplinary policy to have such an extensive, some might say Orwellian, reach, then it is incumbent on it to make that position clear.' The tribunal awarded Mr Romano £8,300. His claim of race discrimination was dismissed.
