Wanted fugitive escaped from custody in North Carolina captured in Massachusetts
WEBSTER, Mass. (WWLP) – A man wanted in North Carolina in connection with evading police with illegal firearms was captured in Worcester County, Massachusetts.
In a news release from Massachusetts State Police this week, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations requested assistance in locating a known gang affiliate of the 'Folk Nation.' Police say that the suspect was in possession of two illegal firearms and obtained information that he was living in Webster.

Webster police identified the suspect as 34-year-old William Lambert of Whiteville, NC. They say that Lambert escaped from custody in North Carolina and was wanted on a fully extraditable warrant for the charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He also has numerous firearms convictions.
The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section Central Team set up surveillance on North Main Street in Webster and followed the suspect as he returned from a convenience store. Once the suspect was at his residence, the troopers surrounded the area and executed a warrant. Lambert attempted to run away but was quickly captured. He is being held at the Worcester County House of Corrections pending extradition back to North Carolina.

Cocaine trafficking suspects arrested in Holyoke apartment raid
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Three Holyoke residents were arrested on Tuesday following a months-long cocaine trafficking investigation. Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan stated in a social media post that for the past several months, a multi-agency investigation had been taking place into the alleged cocaine distribution by 46-year-old Felix Vargas of Holyoke. Vargas had reportedly been distributing cocaine from his apartment on Hampden Street. ATV rider arrested after crashing into Holyoke police cruiser The investigation was conducted in collaboration with the Holyoke Police Narcotics Unit, the Chicopee Police Narcotics Unit, and the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force. Last Friday, Chicopee detectives were granted a search warrant for Vargas' apartment and vehicle. At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, members of the investigation team searched Vargas' home and vehicle, where he and multiple other suspects were arrested. Police said that as Vargas was being handcuffed, he threw several items over a railing. The items were located and found to be three bags of powder cocaine. During the search, law enforcement recovered an illegally owned loaded firearm, a firearm magazine, approximately 26 bags of crack cocaine, ten bags of powder cocaine, a taser, and $725 in cash. In addition to Vargas, 38-year-old Erica Weeks and 45-year-old Christy Suarez, both of Holyoke, were arrested inside the apartment. Three men arrested for allegedly soliciting prostitution in Holyoke sting
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Three men were arrested Monday following a Holyoke police 'John' sting within the city. ATV rider arrested after crashing into Holyoke police cruiser The Holyoke Police Department states that on Monday, undercover law enforcement officers posed as prostitutes during a sting operation. This operation is an effort to address quality of life issues in Holyoke. It aims to deter men from soliciting prostitution and to combat the demand for commercial sexual exploitation. At 12:30 p.m., 53-year-old Luis Lopez-Rodriguez of Chicopee drove into the area where the operation was taking place and offered the undercover officer cash for a sexual act. Lopez-Rodriguez was placed under arrest on Elm Street near the intersection of Cabot Street. At around 2:30 p.m., 52-year-old Rufus Rushins of Chicopee also drove into the area and offered the officer cash for a sexual act. He was stopped and arrested near the intersection of Appleton and Chestnut Streets. At 4:55 p.m., 80-year-old Kazem Rahmani of Amherst was stopped near the intersection of Beech and Suffolk Streets and was also arrested for offering cash to an officer for a sexual act. All three men were charged with sexual conduct for a fee.
