Israel Forcibly Disappearing Gaza Medical Official Dr. Marwan Al-Hams
The Ministry reports no information has been provided regarding his health condition or the circumstances of his detention, amid credible reports of abuse and mistreatment.
In an official statement released Thursday, the Ministry accused Israeli authorities of engaging in the systematic forced disappearance of Palestinian medical personnel, noting that 361 medical staff members are currently held in Israeli prisons.
It cited testimonies from released detainees and legal representatives detailing widespread abuse and harsh detention conditions.
The Ministry urged international legal and humanitarian organizations to exert maximum pressure on Israel to secure the immediate release of all detained healthcare workers, stressing the violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions which protect medical staff during wars.
On July 22, Alaa Skaafi, Director of Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights in Gaza, confirmed that Dr. Al-Hams is being held in Ashkelon Prison after sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg during his arrest.
Skaafi said the physician has been denied access to legal counsel and that Israeli authorities have extended his detention without charge until July 31, 2025, a move described as a blatant violation of his legal and human rights.
Dr. Al-Hams was detained on Monday, July 21, near the Red Cross Field Hospital in western Khan Younis, southern Gaza. According to Gaza's Health Ministry Director-General Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, the abduction constitutes yet another attack on Gaza's medical community, which has faced increasing targeting since the start of the war.
Family sources reported that Dr. Al-Hems was taken by an Israeli special forces unit, and that the driver of their ambulance was also wounded during the operation.
Local witnesses say Israeli forces opened fire on a group of civilians near a café opposite the Red Cross Field Hospital in western Rafah, escalating concerns over the increasing militarization of medical zones in Gaza.
Human rights groups and local officials continue to call on the international community to act urgently to ensure protection for medical staff in conflict zones and demand accountability for violations of international law.

Hunger, Bombing kill 47 in Gaza as Death Toll Hits 61000
DaysofPal- The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that 47 people were killed and 491 others wounded in the past 24 hours as Israeli airstrikes and shelling continued across the Gaza Strip. Among the dead were 21 civilians who were killed while waiting in line for desperately needed food aid, which is a tragic reminder of the deepening famine under Israeli blockade. According to the Ministry, the death toll from Israeli-induced famine and acute malnutrition has now risen to 212, including 98 children. This number continues to climb as Israeli forces maintain a tight siege, blocking the entry of food, clean water, and medical supplies, while deliberately targeting farmlands, storage facilities, and food factories, further crippling Gaza's already collapsing food security. Since the Israeli genocide began in October 2023, at least 61,369 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them women and children, in addition to hundreds of thousands wounded. Gaza's healthcare system is on the verge of complete collapse, with hospitals destroyed or rendered inoperable, and a severe shortage of medical equipment and essential medicines leaving patients without life-saving treatment. Field reports warn that more than 1.5 million people in Gaza are now at risk of dying from hunger, with tens of thousands of children suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration. Desperate scenes are unfolding daily, as families search through rubble and risk ongoing bombardment in a struggle to find food and water. Legal experts and human rights organizations have described Israeli crimes as a full-scale genocide, involving direct killing through bombardment, systematic starvation, the destruction of essential infrastructure, and the imposition of living conditions designed to wipe out the civilian population. Despite repeated warnings from international humanitarian agencies about the unfolding catastrophe, the Israeli military operations show no sign of stopping. The continued Israeli siege and relentless attacks are pushing Gaza toward what observers describe as one of the worst humanitarian disasters in modern history, while much of the world remains silent. Gaza Death Toll from Starvation Rises to 217
DaysofPal—The number of deaths from Israel's systematic starvation policy in Gaza continues to climb, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health reporting five more fatalities due to malnutrition in the past 24 hours, including two children. This brings the total death toll from famine and malnutrition to 217, among them 100 children. The World Health Organization has warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis, noting a disturbing rise in deaths caused by hunger and malnutrition amid Israel's ongoing blockade and restrictions on aid delivery. According to WHO, nearly 12,000 children under the age of five were diagnosed with severe acute malnutrition in July alone, putting them at risk of death or long-term health damage. The United Nations stressed that Gaza needs hundreds of aid trucks every day to end the famine brought on by Israel's blockade and its ongoing war, now in its 23rd month. While Israel has recently allowed a limited number of aid trucks to enter Gaza following international criticism over its ban on humanitarian deliveries since March 2, rights groups say much of this aid has been looted with Israeli protection. MSF Exposes Gaza Aid Distribution as Orchestrated Killing
DaysofPal – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has released a searing indictment of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), characterizing its food distribution sites as lethal traps rather than relief points. In the report titled 'This is not aid. This is orchestrated killing.' MSF presents compelling medical data, eyewitness accounts, and direct clinical observations showing that civilians, many desperately seeking food, are being systematically maimed or killed at these sites. Weaponizing Starvation In May 2025, Israeli authorities dismantled the UN-led relief infrastructure and replaced it with a militarized food distribution system managed by GHF. Operating under full Israeli military control with U.S.-supported private contractors, GHF was branded an 'innovative solution,' yet MSF reveals it has instead 'weaponized starvation and curated suffering.' Between June 7 and July 24, MSF's two frontline clinics in southern Gaza received 1,380 casualties, highlighting the staggering human cost of these deadly disturbances. Among them were 28 bodies and 174 individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Disturbingly, 96% of those injured were young men, relentlessly sent by their families into these lethal environments to fetch food. Adding to the horror, MSF treated 71 children with gunshot wounds during this period. Notable cases included a 12-year-old boy with a bullet that passed through his abdomen and an 8-year-old girl shot in the chest. Data from MSF reveals a chilling pattern: in one clinic, 19% of gunshot wounds were to the chest and abdomen, and 11% to the head and neck, indicating targeted violence rather than indiscriminate firing. Similar precision was found in injuries to the lower limbs in another clinic, hinting at deliberate crowd control tactics. A 'Laboratory of Cruelty' Raquel Ayora, MSF's General Director, described GHF distribution sites as 'a laboratory of cruelty.' She recalled scenes of children shot in the chest while reaching for food, stampedes that crushed innocent civilians, and entire crowds being gunned down. In nearly 54 years of humanitarian missions, MSF has 'rarely seen such levels of systematic violence against unarmed civilians.' According to Gaza's Health Ministry, well over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and 7,200 injured while seeking food, most of them at GHF-controlled sites. International agencies, including the UN, have similarly labeled these aid hubs as 'death traps,' urging their closure. Médecins Sans Frontières urgently calls for the immediate dismantling of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's food distribution network, denouncing it as a lethal mechanism rather than a relief effort. The organization demands the swift reinstatement of the United Nations-coordinated humanitarian aid system to ensure safe and impartial access to life-saving supplies. Furthermore, MSF urges governments, particularly the United States, to suspend all financial and political support to the GHF, holding them accountable for enabling what amounts to systematic violence against civilians under the guise of aid. The grim reality revealed by this MSF report is that what is being portrayed as life-saving assistance has actually turned into a tool for dehumanization and even planned murder.
