Delhi bound flights diverted to Jaipur, passengers stranded
Jaipur: Several passengers were stranded at Jaipur airport Wednesday after 12 Delhi-bound flights were diverted due to poor weather conditions there. Passengers said they waited for hours for updates from airline companies.
A passenger shared that they waited for over six hours and were not offered any food or water.
"@IndiGo6E your flight has been rerouted to Jaipur, we are waiting inside the aircraft for an hour, and your staff hasn't even offered us water…. Most of us have been in the airport from 4 pm onwards. The flight is in Jaipur for more than two hours. We weren't allowed to leave the aircraft," shared a passenger.
Another passenger, Sugata Mukherjee, said on X, "Flight no 5034 was diverted to Jaipur due to storm Delhi… but your (Indigo) flight status when the plane is at Jaipur shows landed in Delhi.
Unbelievable."
Passengers further alleged that they were given the option of reaching Delhi by bus. "AI-850 from Pune to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur. After hours of waiting, the Jaipur to Delhi flight is now cancelled. Absolute chaos. No one from the staff has a clue what's going on…. No alternate flight, just a bus to Delhi after hours of waiting," shared a passenger on social media platform X. tnn

Delhi-bound traffic on Noida Expressway diverted for 3 days
Delhi-bound traffic on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be affected till Monday morning as the Noida Traffic Police have implemented restrictions near the Bird Feeding Point near Dalit Prerna Sthal on the carriageway towards the national capital. The restrictions are in place from 9pm on Friday till 4am on Monday for ongoing repairs on an 800mm underground water pipe. The police have advised commuters travelling from Pari Chowk to Mayur Vihar, Akshardham, and Chilla Border via the Noida Expressway to take the Dadri–Surajpur–Chhalera (DSC) Road and the Botanical Garden route to avoid inconvenience. Delhi-bound traffic will also be diverted via Kalindi Kunj and Sarita Vihar. Additionally, traffic coming from Kalindi Kunj towards Chilla Border and the DND Flyway will be redirected through Noida Sector 37 and the Botanical Garden route. The DSC Road, which connects various metro stations such as Botanical Garden, Sector 18, Sector 16, and Sector 15, as well as shopping hubs such as Atta Market, is also expected to face congestion due to the increased traffic load. During this period, emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders will be allowed passage. Traffic police have also issued a helpline number — 9971009001. 'The pipe lies nearly 10 metres from the central verge. To carry out the repair work, a section of the main carriageway — about five metres wide and 30 metres long — will be closed from Friday night until Monday morning,' said Lakhan Singh Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (traffic). 'The repair work is both important and urgent. If the pipeline is not repaired, it could even damage the expressway. Moreover, with the monsoon season approaching, digging during rains would be challenging,' said DL Verma, Senior Manager, Noida authority.

IndiGo flight from Delhi diverted due to unusual bird movement at Pune airport
Pune: An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Pune on Thursday morning had to be diverted to Surat allegedly due to the presence of birds near the runway area. The flight (6E-2471) had taken off from Delhi at 4.54am instead of its scheduled time of 4.40am and was set to touch down in Pune at 6.45am. Sources in the airport said that the flight reached Pune airport but could not land because of the presence of birds around the runway area. The aircraft, an A-320 with more than 100 flyers, hovered around the airport for around 20 minutes before heading to Surat as it had less fuel, sources said. Airport director Santosh Dhoke was yet to reply to a WhatsApp message on the matter at the time of going to press. Many WhatsApp messages sent to IndiGo also failed to yield any response. Sources in the airline said that one needed to contact Airport Authority of India and Air Traffic Control (ATC) in case of bird activities. ATC of Pune airport is managed by the Indian Air Force. Every aircraft while flying to a destination has a flight plan that includes a secondary airport on which it would land in case of problems or emergencies. If the destination of any aircraft might be hit by rough weather as the pilot sees, extra fuel is taken and in that case, load factor comes into play which includes deboarding luggage of passengers and cargo too. On May 20, a Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight from Pune faced a major delay, resulting in passengers sitting inside the aircraft for around six hours, due to various reasons, including unusual bird activity in the airport.
