DFLP commends UN General Assembly vote for Gaza ceasefire, urges SC action
Gaza – Saba: The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) on Saturday praised the United Nations General Assembly's vote (149 members) in favor of a resolution to halt the Israeli war in Gaza, lift the siege, and provide unconditional aid. In a statement, the DFLP hailed the General Assembly's majority stance as a victory for international law, security, and peace in the region. The Front called for the resolution to be referred to the Security Council for a binding resolution compelling the "occupying state" to cease its crimes against Palestinians. The DFLP also warned that the occupying state might exploit its conflict with Iran and global preoccupation with it to escalate crimes in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Israeli shelling kills at least 23, wounds dozens across Gaza Strip
Gaza - Saba: Approximately 23 Palestinian citizens were martyred and dozens wounded early Saturday morning as Israeli enemy shelling targeted various areas of the Gaza Strip, with a heavy concentration in the central region. Local Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces opened fire directly at civilians near aid distribution points in central Gaza, resulting in around 15 fatalities and numerous injuries. Casualties were transported to al-Awda and al-Aqsa Martyrs hospitals. Separately, Palestinian medical sources confirmed that five martyrs arrived at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, including two who succumbed to wounds from an airstrike on a tent near al-Khalidi Mosque, coinciding with artillery shelling east of al-Tuffah neighborhood. Additionally, three Palestinian citizens were martyred when Israeli drones targeted a group of civilians near the Islamic University south of Khan Yunis. Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has been subjected to what is described as a genocidal war by the Israeli enemy, involving killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement. This continues despite international appeals and International Court of Justice orders. The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 182,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, predominantly children and women, with over 11,000 still missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed numerous lives, including children. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
