Iranian forces eliminate senior Jaish Al-Adl commander
Shafaq News/ Iranian security forces killed a senior commander of the Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) during a counterterrorism raid early Friday in the restive southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
According to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, units from the Quds Headquarters launched a pre-dawn operation in the Korin district of Zahedan, targeting Vali Mohammad Shahbakhsh, a prominent figure linked to deadly attacks carried out in 2023.
The raid, part of the ongoing 'Martyrs of Security' campaign, also led to several arrests and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
One member of Iran's Basij paramilitary force, identified as Es'haq Mokhtari, was killed during the operation.
Tehran classifies Jaish al-Adl—also known as Jaish al-Zolm—as a terrorist organization. The group, which operates from Pakistan's Balochistan province, has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Iranian security forces in recent years.
Founded in 2012 by former members of the disbanded Jundallah group, Jaish al-Adl positions itself as a defender of the Sunni Baluch minority in Iran's southeastern border regions. Its stated aim includes greater autonomy and rights for the Baluch population, which numbers between 4 and 5 million in Iran, mostly concentrated in Sistan and Baluchestan.

Tehran warns E3 ahead of IAEA vote
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned European powers of a severe response if they pursue what he called a 'major strategic mistake' at next week's IAEA Board of Governors meeting. In a post on X, Araghchi accused Germany, France, and the UK of 'opting a malign action against Iran' instead of engaging in good faith. 'Mark my words,' he wrote, adding that 'As Europe ponders another major strategic mistake, Iran will react strongly to any violation of its rights.' After years of good cooperation with the IAEA—resulting in a resolution which shut down malign claims of a "possible military dimension" (PMD) to Iran's peaceful nuclear program—my country is once again accused of "non-compliance". Instead of engaging in good faith, the E3 is… — Seyed Abbas Araghchi (@araghchi) June 6, 2025 Western powers, including the US and the European trio, plan to submit a resolution accusing Tehran of failing to meet its nuclear obligations, based on a recent IAEA report. KJS launches "pressure" initiative to resolve salary dispute
Shafaq News/ On Friday, The Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate blasted Iraq's Finance Ministry for halting public sector salaries in the region, calling the move 'inhumane' and driven by political motives. In a statement, the Syndicate's Council expressed deep concern over the federal government's action, which comes just days ahead of Eid al-Adha. The Council described the measure as one that targets the Kurdistan Region and its civilian population, disregarding prior agreements between Erbil and Baghdad, as well as rulings from the Federal Supreme Court on financial entitlements. Labeling the decision a "blatant violation of human rights," the statement warned of serious political and social repercussions, not just within the region but across Iraq. It stressed that cutting off wages undermines stability and threatens the fragile balance of federal relations. The Council pointed to constitutional provisions that guarantee equal rights for all Iraqis and prohibit discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, or nationality. "Depriving Kurdistan citizens of their income stands in direct contradiction to these principles and erodes the dignity of individuals," the statement read. In response to the escalating crisis, the Syndicate announced the launch of an initiative to establish a coalition of professional associations and civil society organizations in the Kurdistan Region. The goal, it said, is to mount coordinated pressure on the federal government and push for a comprehensive and constitutional resolution that secures the financial rights of the region's citizens.
