Home Bargains' 'chic' £7 sandals 'almost identical' to £760 designer pair
Home Bargains is selling a new pair of sandals that could easily be mistaken for a much more expensive version. The budget retailer is well known for selling cheaper alternatives for luxury products - and now there might be a new favourite on shelves.
The Originals Ladies Sandals from Home Bargains are priced at £7. They look strikingly similar to a style by luxury brand Hermes, but without the larger price tag.
The sandals share a number of similarities, both featuring a slip-on design and a double-layer sole. They also both have almost identical 'H' shaped straps, with an extra strap across the foot.
However, there are also some differences, including that the Hermes shoes have an adjustable strap while the Home Bargains version does not. The sole of the designer shoes are slightly different too, featuring a slimmer look compared to Home Bargains'.
The budget version has a different coloured sole too, while the Hermes sandals have an all-black design. The designer shoes are made with real leather, while Home Bargains' shoes are faux leather.
Home Bargains' product description reads: "Step into summer with the Originals Ladies Sandals! These comfy slip-ons come in chic white or bold black, featuring a stylish cut-out design that's perfect for beach days or brunch dates. Available in sizes 3 to 7 for the ultimate versatile look!"
It adds: "Get ready for sunny days with the Originals Ladies Sandals, your new go-to for effortless summer style! These comfy slip-ons feature a trendy cut-out design that adds a little extra flair to any outfit.
"Available in sizes 3 to 7, they're perfect for beach strolls, brunch dates, or just kicking back in style. Easy to wear and super versatile, these sandals are a must-have for the season!"
The designer description reads: "The Chypre sandal makes life lighter. Inspired by the island that is home to Aphrodite's waterfall, where the water promises eternal youth, it exudes authentic and timeless style.
"The flexible, durable and adjustable strap is combined with an anatomic rubber sole for ultimate comfort. Contemporary and elegant, it embodies all the spirit of the Maison through its H cut."
While the Home Bargains Originals Ladies Sandals are priced at £7, the Hermes Chypre sandals come in at £760. This means shoppers could save around £753 by opting for the cheaper alternative.
The Home Bargains sandals are available in black or white, in sizes three to seven. Both colours are currently sold out in sizes three.

River Island sell suede sandals that are a Hermes Oran Sandal alternative
Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more While the British weather may not be able to make up its mind, we can. By that mean, we prefer the price tag of a designer alternative than we do the real McCoy. Case in point is River Island's Suede Cut Out Sandals that retails for £28, but looks very similar to the iconic Hermes Oran Sandals, which fetch a staggering £610. Crafted from leather, these suede sandals boast a cut-out strap over the bridge of the toes with a gold buckle detail on top. The open toe design has a flatform-style heel as the sole increases in height ever so slightly by the heel. Available in two colours and in UK shoe sizes 2 to 8. Buy Now for £17 (was £28) River Island's Suede Cut Out Strap Sandals have been crafted from leather suede. The design boasts a square open toe, which is similar to the Hermes design. Though River Island boasts a geometric cut-out strap, this detail on the Hermes' shoe is in the shape of the letter 'H' to honour the brand, of course. The main stand out difference between both flat sandals is the gold buckle accent on River Island's shoes, which is almost a chic twist we love and a subtle nod to Gucci's signature horsebit detail. The Hermes Oran sandal has been crafted from premium calfskin, and offers a smooth leather exterior, whereas River Island's design is a textured suede. Look a bit closer and you will see that River Island's shoe features a flat sole, which is slightly elevated by the heel, but resembles a very minuscule flatform almost. However, the Hermes design has a small block heel. More Trending River Island's open-toe sandals are available in two colours, including tan suede and a chocolate brown smooth leather, whereas the Hermes sandals come in 35 colours, which is quite a collection to pick from. Hermes' sandals come in UK sizes 2 to 8.5, and half sizes are available. While River Island's shoes are also available in UK shoe sizes 2 to 8, it does not include half sizes. If you are in the market for a new pair of summer sandals to complement your summer dress, skirt and top co-ord, or the classic jeans and a tank top ensemble, a pair of sturdy yet stylish sandals that won't break the bank just makes sense. Why stop there? River Island has a variety of premium looking accessories to shop too, including the Bottega Veneta inspired bag and Jacquemus inspired roll top bag. Biggest skincare trends for 2025 Face The Future's Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025. 1. Exosomes Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they're a gamechanger for targeting ageing. 2. Streamlined Skincare The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we'll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results. 3. Vegan Collagen Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums. 4. The Rise Of AI AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level. 5. Hair Loss Solutions - Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it's no longer just something we're talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health. L'Oreal advises beauty fans to use the product every day, on thoroughly cleansed skin. One beauty fan has also been raving about another posh cream that she said makes her look decades younger than 70. The Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex would normally cost £40, but it's available for just £15 right now on Amazon. And shoppers are also raving about Boots' range of Korean skincare, as beauty experts estimate that South Korea is 10-12 years ahead of the Europe and the US in terms of skincare and aesthetic treatments. However, as many products contain salmon sperm, Korean beauty isn't for everyone.
