Mumtaz
has admitted to being in love with
Shammi Kapoor
at several instances. She has also revealed that they were to get married but could not. In a recent interview she was asked about how Shammi was as a lover and how it was to spend time with him.
However, Mumtaz confessed that in those days, her parents were very strict and it was not like how relationships work today.
She said in an interview with Filmybeat, "Hamare zamaaane mein aisa nahi tha ke pure din saath mein baithe rahe because I was also busy working and even him. I would come home from work and entertain his guests. Dekh liya, khana vana ho gaya sab ho gaya. Then I would say, I will go now because my mother will wait for me and she would scold me.
Uss zamaane mein parents were very strict, I come from a Muslim family, Iranians are very strict.
I never went shooting alone. My mother was always with me. Toh aisa kabhi nahi hua ke poore poore din aur raat saath bitaye ho. (During our times it wasn't like we will spend the whole day together because we were both busy working. I would come home from work though, go to his house, look after things, entertain his guests, look at all the arrangements for him and his guests.
Then I would quickly rush back home as my mom would scold me. Our parents used to be very strict. I never went on a film shoot alone. There was never a time when we spent days and nights together)."
She further spoke about choosing her career over love. "I have said this many times that we didn't get married because Papaji (Shammi Kapoor's father) didn't allow the women in his family to work. I was ambititious. They didn't allow women in their house to work.
Uss wakhat Geeta ji (Geeta Bali) ne bhi kaam chhod diya tha. Agar kuch hona hai shadi ke baad bhi, pichle darwaaze se jaake bhi insaan ishq kar sakta tha. He was right and I respect him immensely for that.
Jinko pyaar ho jaata hai, woh karte hi hai. (I respected him (Shammi Kapoor's father) for his decision for not allowing the women in his family or his daughter-in-laws to work. But I feel that if someone wants to cheat in a marriage, they can go out and do it in anway.
He was right though in taking his measures and I truly respected him)."
In this interview, she also mentioned that Shammi was married to a very good woman and she feels good that she was by his side when he passed away. Shammi Kapoor was married to Geeta Bali. After she passed away, Shammi had met Mumtaz. Later after they parted ways, Shammi married Neila Devi.

When Every Tourist On Eiffel Tower Vibed To ‘Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni Mein'

Last Updated: The video shows the group singing the legendary Hindi song Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni Mein. A group of Indian travellers transformed Paris's iconic Eiffel Tower into an impromptu Bollywood concert spot. Captivating passersby, they performed the classic Hindi song Aaja Sanam Madhur Chandni Mein, a romantic melody from the 1951 film Chori Chori, originally sung by legends Lata Mangeshkar and Manna Dey. The beautifully shot video captures the trio singing in perfect harmony near the Eiffel Tower, with spectators, many of them tourists from around the world, enjoying the soulful performance. Some are seen clapping along and swaying to the tune. This enchanting blend of classic Indian music against the stunning Parisian backdrop created a magical atmosphere that resonated deeply with viewers. The video's caption read, 'Every tourist enjoyed Indian song with us at the Eiffel Tower, Paris, France." It quickly went viral, earning praise for the group's spontaneous and heartwarming musical tribute. Indian music has often bridged cultural and language divisions, with people across nations appreciating it. Weeks back, Deanna Leigh, a 23-year-old travel vlogger from the United Kingdom, posted a hilarious video on Instagram about how she unexpectedly fell in love with India's 'Swach Bharat" jingle. She said, 'I heard it all the time in Jodhpur. I thought it was just a fun song people sang every morning." Deanna had no idea that the catchy tune blaring from loudspeakers was a call to take out the trash. She said, 'I didn't know. I just thought it was a cheerful morning tune." Sharing her opinion, Deanna wrote, 'My new favourite song in India! At one point, this was all I would hear in the mornings. I had no clue what it meant… but damn, what a banger!" In the video, a garbage truck is shown rolling down the street while playing charming music, leaving Deanna both amazed and fascinated. Prasoon Joshi wrote the song Swachh Bharat Ka Irada, which was sung by Kailash Kher. First Published:

South Newsmakers of the Week: Akhil Akkineni and Zainab Ravdjee's wedding date, Kamal Haasan's Kannada row and more

The South cinema industry saw several buzzing updates this week, with multiple announcements making waves. As we head into the weekend, here are a few highlights that stood out most to the audience. 1. Akhil Akkineni and Zainab Ravdjee's wedding date Akhil Akkineni and his fiancée, Zainab Ravdjee, are all set to tie the knot after making their relationship official in November 2024. The wedding is reportedly scheduled for June 6, 2025. According to multiple reports, the Lenin actor will get married in a grand ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad—the same venue where his brother Naga Chaitanya's wedding with Sobhita Dhulipala took place. There is also speculation about an additional celebration being planned in Rajasthan. Recently, Akhil's parents, veteran actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Amala Akkineni, officially invited Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to the wedding. 2. Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel's NTRNeel to step away from Dragon title In an exclusive update from Pinkvilla, it was reported that Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel's upcoming film, tentatively titled NTRNeel, may drop the potential title Dragon. A source revealed, 'The issue arises because Dragon is already a registered title for a Tamil film releasing in 2025, which prevents the production team from officially locking it. Additionally, the Tamil Dragon was dubbed in Telugu, raising concerns over legal complications and possible fan confusion in the Telugu-speaking market.' While Dragon remains a working title for now, the makers are expected to announce the final title soon. 3. Kamal Haasan's Kannada language row Kamal Haasan recently made headlines after commenting that the Kannada language was born out of Tamil during the Thug Life audio launch event. His remarks sparked debate among netizens, leading the Karnataka Film Chamber to demand a ban on his films unless he issues an apology. However, the veteran actor has refrained from apologizing, stating he will only do so if he believes he has done something wrong.
