All the freebies London Marathon runners can claim - from pints to steak
There's no doubt about it, running the London Marathon is not for the faint-hearted.
With 26 miles across the capital, it takes months to train for, with a strict diet and training regime, all in a bid to cross the finish line and take home an impressive medal.
But, there are more perks to running the marathon, with the chance to get free meals from a range of restaurants throughout London.
Whether it's a burger, steak or a pint you're after, there are plenty of places offering free food and drinks to London Marathon medallists.
Restaurant chain Gaucho, is offering runners a complimentary steak from the day of the race (April 27) up until May 1.
All you have to do is present your medal at any of Gaucho's London restaurants, and in exchange, you will get a free steak.
On the day of the marathon, runners can get a free pint of any draft beer on offer at Market Place Food Hall Vauxhall.
Just show off your medal, and in exchange, you will be rewarded with an ice-cold pint of your choice.
London Marathon runners in need of caffeine can head to Cutter & Squidge's Soho bakery and get a free coffee and brownie.
Only on April 27, when you show off your medal in the store, you will be treated to a sweet treat.
Pasta restaurant, Pastaio, in Soho, is offering runners a free bowl of pasta on race day when you present your medal.
Runners get to choose a pasta dish of their choice, including Casarecce with wild garlic and hazelnut pesto and stracciatella, and Spaghetti with Amalfi lemon, basil and parmesan.
City Cruises is offering London Marathon runners a free ride down the River Thames and 30 per cent off for family and friends using the code marathon30.
All you need to do is show up at the booking office with your medal to claim the free ride.
All London Marathon runners will get to take the TfL service for free on Sunday, April 27, just show your medal to a staff member.

NYC snubbed on new ‘10 best hotels in the world' list compiled by expert travel reviewers
La Liste just revealed the top 10 best hotels in the world — and none of the luxury ones in New York made the elite list. With so many incredible travel destinations — it's hard to narrow down the best places to stay, but the Paris-based company known for its hotel and restaurant rankings took on the difficult task of doing just that. To compile this list, the site looked at 400 different hotel reviews given by press — which then went through an algorithm system to create a score on a 100-point scale, as explained by Bloomberg. 'We are a synthesis of all the rankings and ratings that we find knowledgeable,' Helene Pietrini, managing director of La Liste, told Bloomberg. As a result, 10 different hotels around the world all ranked No. 1 — six of them are in Europe, and none in the tri-state area. Who made the cut? 1. La Réserve Paris This 5-star hotel is one that tourists — and travel reviewers — can't get enough of. 'The property has exceptional service, some great food and beverage outlets, a pool and spa, and a beautiful historic design. If money is no object, it really is hard to choose between the top properties in Paris — it all depends on what part of town you prefer staying in, and what kind of vibe and design you like,' One Mile At A Time wrote. 2. Cheval Blanc Paris Jing Daily described this Paris hotel as one that 'doesn't just offer accommodation at a level where everything is exceptional. Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, Thailand 4 Expert reviewers couldn't say enough good things about this Thailand hotel. The Peninsula Shanghai, China Forbes Travel Guide had nothing but amazing things to say about the Peninsula Shanghai. The Peninsula Chicago 4 The Peninsula Chicago was the only US hotel to make the top 10 list.
