Montgomery Co. sheriff, US Marshal need your help to find wanted fugitives

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshal Service are asking for your help in locating two fugitives.
They believe both pose a threat to the overall well-being of our community.
Thompson is wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for trafficking amphetamine.
Age: 40
Height: 6'
Slaughter is wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear on original charges of Felony Abduction and Felonious Assault.
Age: 27
Height: 5'11'
Michael Black, U.S. Marshal Southern District of Ohio, said the work his teams do isn't possible without the support of the community. At least two of the fugitives featured in on '2 on 2' have been captured recently thanks to tips from viewers.
'That's exactly what we want,' he said. 'The community has so many eyes out there. When we get these pictures out there, you know, just give us a tip. Tell us where you see them and give us a starting point to locate.
'Our mission continues to be to try and remove as many violent criminals from our from our communities as possible.'
'The first thing we want to do is, you know, get all their information, whatever they see a license plate, any description they have of one of our fugitives, but we don't want them to engage,' said Michael Black, U.S. Marshal Southern District of Ohio.
Black said if you see either of these people, don't approach them as they could be armed and dangerous. Instead, you can submit a tip to the U.S. Marshal Service — call the tip line at 614-469-5540, visit the usmarshals.gov website, or the USMS Tips app.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two vehicles collided and hit a third vehicle in Champaign County Wednesday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Springfield Post is investigating a crash that was reported around 1:30 p.m. around the area of East Kanagy Road and Ludlow Road in Salem Township. Funeral services held for Morrow County deputy fatally shot on Memorial Day Investigation revealed a 1999 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Ludlow Road when a 2017 International MA025 truck traveling westbound on Kanagy Road failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicles collided and traveled off the side of the road, where the MA025 truck overturned. The Ford Ranger struck an unoccupied 2016 Cadillac SRX that was parked on private property. The Ford Ranger driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight for a serious, non-life-threatening injury, according to OSP. Former Bellefontaine sergeant in court on OVI, firearm charges

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A former Bellefontaine officer was in a Logan County court Wednesday on firearm and OVI charges. Bellefontaine Police Sgt. Bradley Staley faces charges of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony of the fifth degree, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence (OVI), a misdemeanor of the first degree. Staley appeared before Judge Kevin P. Braig in the Logan County Court of Common Pleas. The judge granted Staley recognizance bond, ordered him to keep in contact with lawyer Madison Mackay and submit to pre-trial drug/alcohol testing. Staley pleaded not guilty to the charges. He moved the court for admission to the intervention instead of the conviction program. He was ordered by the court to appear for a pre-sentence investigation interview. Child critically injured in suspected OVI crash Tuesday night

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 5-year-old child is hospitalized in critical condition after a suspected OVI crash at the intersection of South Main and East Stewart streets. According to the Dayton Police Department, crews were dispatched to an injury crash around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3. Police say their initial investigation found that a Ford F-150 Tremor was heading south on Main Street. Officials said the driver ran a red light and then crashed into the rear driver's side of a Honda Odyssey heading east on Stewart Street. Officials said the F-150 then crashed into a Toyota RAV4, which was approaching the stoplight north on Main Street. Man injured in shooting at DeSoto Bass apartments on Monday The Odyssey had two occupants besides the driver: a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. All were taken by medics to nearby hospitals. As of Wednesday, the girl is currently in critical condition. The other two people have non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the F-150 was the only person in the vehicle and wasn't taken to a hospital. None of the three people in the RAV4 were hospitalized. Officials suspect the cause of the crash is OVI. Detectives from the Dayton Police Department's Traffic Services Unit are actively investigating the crash. 2 NEWS will update this article when more information is available.
