Golden Snow Globe currently ranks Erie as snowiest US city, but will it stay on top?
Erie is listed as number one for the snowiest cities in the country so far this year, according to Golden Snow Globe.
Our own meteorologist Craig Flint said this winter has been the snowiest since 2017, but Erie is running neck and neck with another city in the region.
We did get a little snow over the weekend, we are still in first place, but it's not by much, it's only like an inch ahead of Syracuse,' said Flint.
Currently, Erie stands at 109.6 for the season with Syracuse at 108.3.

Flint said the majority of this snow came from snowmageddon during Thanksgiving.
He said March is a fickle month for snow in Erie and said there will be more snow — But there is a possibility that Syracuse could take the lead.
'The reason being is because Lake Ontario does not freeze. Lake Erie has frozen over, but with the recent mild weather, some of that ice is starting to break up. So that gives us a little glimmer of hope for more lake effect, but because Lake Ontario is wide open for business, Syracuse could surpass us,' said Flint.
Erie residents that we spoke with weighed in on the current lead and if they would like to see Erie claim the title of snowiest city.
'I'm kind of done with the cold at this point. Enough is enough, definitely,' said Monica Rigby, a student.
'I think that we should just stay the course. I think that as long as we're ahead we don't need anymore snow, but if we start to slip behind then snow baby snow,' said Mark Tanenbaum, an Erie resident.
'Done with the snow… tired of being cold,' added Shatwan Glover, another Erie resident.
'As a community, I think we should own it. We should. Being number one's awesome, right? We want to be number one in pretty much everything,' said Jeff McCullor, an Erie resident.

While some might say enough is enough, Flint has a different point of view.
'I love snow. I love forecasting snow. It's a challenge, so I figure if we've gotten this much, let's just keep going and let's just be number one,' said Flint.

Hot & muggy conditions for Father's Day weekend, more tropical downpours
(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good Saturday morning and happy Father's Day weekend! Expect a mainly dry start this morning, with warm and muggy conditions. Temperatures are in the lower 70s to start the day. High temperatures will climb into the mid-80s today, but it will feel like the low to mid-90s when you factor in the heat index. If you are going to be outside for long periods, drink plenty of water and find shade when you can! There will be scattered showers and storms this afternoon to help cool things down at times. While severe weather is unlikely, localized instances of flash flooding may occur due to tropical downpours. The forecast will be copied and pasted for Father's Day. A few stray showers in the morning, with temperatures starting in the 70s. Father's Day afternoon will bring mid-80s temperatures, with a feel-like temperature in the low to mid-90s. Much like today, scattered downpours and storms will develop for Father's Day afternoon, which could lead to more localized flash flooding issues. This hot and muggy pattern will continue for next week, along with afternoon and evening scattered storm chances. Warm, humid, scattered storms
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Expect periods of showers and storms over the next several days. Some of the storms will be strong to severe, it's just a matter of when and where storms develop. It's a trend we'll continue to follow in the Storm Center. While an isolated shower or storm will be possible today, the best chance for the rain will hold off until later today in western South Dakota and move east overnight. Highs today will reach the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With the scattered storms tonight, lows will fall to the 50s and 60s. We'll put it on repeat for tomorrow. Scattered storms will develop in late afternoon and evening in western South Dakota and move east during the overnight. Highs for Father's Day will be in the 80s. Monday will feature another round of thunderstorms, but this time they will move into central and eastern KELOLAND a little sooner than over the weekend. The scattered storms will also be strong to severe, but the outlook covers more of central and eastern KELOLAND. Keep in mind the thicker humidity.
