Field Of Gold poised to be sole Juddmonte runner in 2000 Guineas

The Harry Charlton-trained Cosmic Year and Field Of Gold's stablemate Detain also enhanced their credentials with comeback wins on the all-weather earlier in the month and remain in Guineas contention, but both have preferred targets.

Speaking on Wednesday, Juddmonte's European racing manager Barry Mahon told the PA news agency: 'They're all left in and I think current plans are roughly that Field Of Gold will go to Newmarket and we're on weather-watch with the rest of them.
'Jonquil and Detain are both loosely pencilled in to go to ParisLongchamp (for the French Guineas) the following weekend and Cosmic Year could go to the King Charles II on the Friday of the Guineas meeting in Newmarket, with a view to maybe going to the Irish Guineas after that.
'That's roughly where we're at, but if it looked like France was getting a lot of rain like they are at the minute, we could divert Jonquil back to Newmarket.
'We just think Longchamp would set up nicely for him and because last year he bounced when making a quick reappearance, Andrew was keen to give him the extra week. If it looked like it was going to be good ground in France, we'll go there, and if not we'll pull back into Newmarket.'
Red Letter in action at the Curragh (Niall Carson/PA)
The Ger Lyons-trained Red Letter looks set to carry the Juddmonte silks in the Betfred 1000 Guineas, with the French equivalent the current plan for Nell Gwyn heroine Zanzoun, who would have to be supplemented to run at Newmarket.
Red Letter won one of her three juvenile starts and was not beaten far by fellow Guineas contender and triple Group One winner Lake Victoria on her other two outings.
'She is still on course for Newmarket, she's in good form and Ger is happy with her. She's very much on track,' Mahon added.
'I think we're still leaning towards Longchamp with Zanzoun. Maybe if there was a deluge of rain in Newmarket, which nobody is telling me there's going to be, we might look at supplementing her, but I think we'll be sticking to Plan A and that is France.'

Makers of new F1 film say they could not have done it without Lewis Hamilton

Seven-time world champion Hamilton is an executive producer on the Brad Pitt movie, titled 'F1', which is released in the United Kingdom on June 25. Hamilton has been heavily involved in the script – which sees 61-year-old Pitt play the role of veteran driver Sonny Hayes returning to the F1 grid after a long absence – to ensure the film is as authentic as possible. Brad Pitt plays veteran driver Sonny Hayes in the new Formula One movie (David Davies/PA) Joseph Kosinski, the man behind Top Gun: Maverick and director of the F1 movie, said at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix: 'Lewis was the first person I reached out to when I had the initial idea for this. 'He was involved in all the technical details with fascinating advice. In Hungary, for instance, he said, 'If Brad's going to let someone pass during a blue flag and he wants it to be as tight as possible, he's going to only do that at turn six'. John Terry 'proud' of full kit w***** label after Chelsea Champions League win

EXCLUSIVE: John Terry wore his full kit to watch Chelsea win the Champions League in 2012 - and holds no regrets despite his reputation following that success John Terry insists he is 'very proud' of his 'full kit' celebration - and revealed he was under orders from UEFA. Terry has always struggled to live down the whole episode after the 2012 Champions League final when he was suspended but still ran onto the pitch to lift the trophy while wearing his shirt, shorts, socks, boots and even his shin pads. Former England captain Terry suffered Champions League heartbreak when he missed in the penalty shoot-out in 2008 but was determined not to miss the party four years later despite him and Branislav Ivanovic being banner for the final. Terry laughed: 'What are you going on about?! It doesn't bother me at all. I will gladly take the stick if we win the trophies. 'Listen, first of all, it came from UEFA, they wanted all the players to dress the same, wear the shirt and I probably overeager it a bit because I had the boots, the shorts and the shinpads. 'They didn't say to everyone: 'put the boots and shin pads on!' So, yeah, I've gone a bit far but I'm very proud of it, I really am. 'It's part of it. The memes and stuff came out, but being the Englishman that I am, the Chelsea captain and so proud to lead the club, I was ready to take the brunt of it. 'But I wasn't the only one. Ivanovic was suspended and he was swinging on the crossbar at full time. No-one mentions that he had the full kit on, the scarf wrapped round and all of that.' Terry regards the 2005 title as the best trophy he played in but still looks back on the 2012 European success as a remarkable achievement despite missing the final after being sent off in the semi final. He added: 'In terms of one I didn't play in but still goes down as the best for me is the Champions League in 2012. And I say that because I'm proper Chelsea, everyone knows that. 'Seeing the heartache of 09/10, 08 against Man United and even 04/05 in the Champions League, we deserved to win that trophy. We'd been so close. 'We'd probably been better equipped previously to win it than the actual year we did it. It wasn't our strongest team, we were an ageing team in 2012. 'We had a few players suspended, myself included, but we went and won the trophy. We needed a bit of luck along the way which we had. I think it's an amazing trophy and one I'm so proud of that we won.' John Terry was speaking about Chelsea and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
