The auditorium, known for hosting cultural and fine arts events, was constructed following instructions from Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray after requests from residents following the party getting its first power seat in the city in 1978. The theatre was first extensively renovated in 1998. After that, it was renovated after 26 years. The present revamp work started in Oct 2024, officials informed. War 2 Day 1 early box office: Hrithik-Jr NTR may have spy universe's lowest opener
'War 2', headlined by Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, seems to have performed below trade expectations.
