CANTON − The Concert for Legends will feature a one-two punch of country music and rock 'n' roll.
Mitchell Tenpenny will open for Nickelback at the Aug. 3 Concert for Legends at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival.
Tenpenny's music has both country and pop leanings and even soars into the power pop genre on numerous songs.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame says fans will enjoy the mix of music.
"Mitchell Tenpenny and Nickelback appearing at the 2025 Concert for Legends will create an atmosphere of energy and a fun environment for fans," Jim Porter, president and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, said in a prepared statement. "We are extremely excited to bring these acts together on the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium stage."
Boasting 343,000 followers on Facebook and 442,000 followers on Instagram, the Nashville native and multi-platinum artist also blends touches of rhythm and blues, bluegrass and rock. Other work draws comparisons in the country genre to Jordan Davis, Thomas Rhett, Nate Smith and Luke Combs.
His biggest song was the crossover hit, "Drunk Me." It reached the top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

Tenpenny, grandson of former Sony/ATV Music CEO Donna Hilley, is a two-time Academy of Country Music Award nominee. He also has garnered nominations for Country Music Assocation and Country Music Television awards, the Pro Football Hall of Fame said in its announcement.
In 2024, he was nominated for CMA New Artist of the Year in a group that included Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith and Zach Top.
Tenpenny's most recent single, "Same Moon," is a breezy, up-tempo love song, evoking the pop rock songcraft of John Mayer.
His other popular songs include "Truth About You" and "At the End of a Bar," a collaboration with Chris Young. Tenpenny's 2018 album, "Telling All My Secrets" debuted No. 5 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.

Outside music, the 35-year-old songwriter has been honored by the American Cancer Society of Tennessee for his work with the ACS Hope Lodge. Started in 2018, Tenpenny's "The 10Penny Fund" has raised more than $500,000 for sustainable and meaningful programs to support cancer patients.
Tenpenny's other shows this summer include the Country Summer Music Festival 2025 on June 28 in Santa Rosa, California.
The Concert for Legends has booked country music stars as the main attraction in the past, including Zac Brown Band in 2023 and Carrie Underwood in 2024. Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Jimmie Allen played the big show in past years.
Nickelback, however, was a return to the rock music origins of the inaugural Concert for Legends, which featured the legendary Aerosmith in 2015 in a dazzling concert that many Canton-area residents still rave about. Journey headlined the Concert for Legends in 2022, another well-attended event.
Achieving multi-platinum success in the aughts, Nickelback is known for the hit songs "How You Remind Me," "Photograph" and "Rockstar."
Accolades for Nickelback include being recognized as Billboard's Top Rock Group of the Decade for the 2000s while receiving multiple Grammy nominations and winning three American Music Awards.
The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2023 for being "one of the most commercially viable and important acts of the past two decades."
Starting at $75.90 ($55 plus fees), tickets for the Concert for Legends can be purchased at https://www.profootballhoffestival.com.

Machine Gun Kelly reveals daughter's name, gives shout-out to ex-fiancée Megan Fox

Machine Gun Kelly reveals daughter's name, gives shout-out to ex-fiancée Megan Fox Machine Gun Kelly is one smitten papa. The 35-year-old Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, who welcomed a daughter with ex-fiancée Megan Fox in March, revealed the baby's name in an Instagram post June 17. The post included an adorable video of Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, serenading the infant with an ukulele. "Saga Blade Fox-Baker ❤️‍🔥," Kelly wrote. "Thank you for the ultimate gift @meganfox." The "My Ex's Best Friend" singer announced Saga's birth in a March 27 Instagram post, which included a black-and-white clip of Kelly caressing the newborn's hand. "She's finally here!! our little celestial seed," he wrote at the time. 'She's finally here': Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly welcome first child Despite initial fan speculation that the baby's name was "Celestial Seed," Kelly debunked the rumor in a follow-up post on his Instagram Story. "Her mom is gonna tell you the name when we're ready," he'd written. Fox revealed the former couple was expecting in November 2024 on social media. Saga marks Fox's fourth child after having three children with actor and "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum Brian Austin Green. Kelly shares a daughter with his ex, Emma Cannon. The news of Fox's pregnancy came about a year after she shared that she and Kelly previously experienced pregnancy loss. So it was very difficult for both of us, and it sent us on a very wild journey together." 10 bingeable memoirs to check out: Celebrities tell all about aging, marriage and Beyoncé Fox and Kelly also became engaged in January 2022. "I think that what I've learned from being in this relationship is that it's not for public consumption, so I think, as of now, I don't have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se," she said. "What I can say is: That is what I refer to as being my 'twin soul,' and there will always be a tether to him no matter what." Contributing: Anna Kaufman, USA TODAY

PlayStation and Xbox are starting to tease their next-gen consoles

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, BGR may receive an affiliate commission. You've probably already heard that the Nintendo Switch 2 is the fastest-selling game console in history with over 3.5 million sold after four days on the market. I am going to make an educated guess that PlayStation and Xbox saw Nintendo's announcement, because both companies are suddenly rather chatty about their next consoles. Last week, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hideaki Nishino was asked about PlayStation's hardware plans (via VGC). He didn't share any details, but did say that 'the future of the platform is top of mind.' He added that the company is 'committed to exploring a new and enhanced way for players to engage with our content and services.' Documents published in 2022 as part of an investigation into Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard claimed that a new generation of consoles wasn't expected until fall 2028 at the earliest. That would put the PlayStation 6 over three years away. Considering how quiet Sony has been about the PS6 (until now), I'm willing to bet that's still the plan. That said, with Nintendo likely to dominate the conversation from now through the holiday season, it's possible those plans could change. Not to be left out, Xbox joined in on the fun with its own announcement. As revealed by Xbox president Sarah Bond on Tuesday, Xbox has entered into strategic partnership with AMD to co-engineer chips that will power a range of upcoming devices, including the next-generation Xbox consoles. Xbox has been more direct than PlayStation when it comes to its successor(s) to the Xbox Series X/S, but this is the company's biggest push to date. 'The collaboration aims to uplevel the player experience by delivering advanced graphics with enhanced visual quality, more immersive gameplay using the power of AI, and compatibility with player's existing Xbox games library,' Xbox told us on Tuesday. 'Together, Xbox and AMD hope to enable play across devices in entirely new ways, delivering an Xbox experience designed for players – without being confined to a single store or tied to one device.' While initial reports suggested the next generation wouldn't begin until 2028, the latest rumors have pointed to fall 2026 as a potential release window for the next Xbox. What form that future console will take is a mystery, but as Brad Sams pointed out on X, Microsoft announced 'Project Scarlett' (aka Xbox Series X) in June 2019. The Xbox Series X would then launch in fall 2020. If it follows a similar timeline, we could see a new console next fall. 'David loved being an actor, doing voiceovers,' his sister wrote in her tribute to Bell over the weekend. 'The film industry and entertainment was so exciting to him and I loved that he enjoyed the arts.' 'Hug your loved ones today…our last time together after returning home from the movie was just sitting on my living room couch talking story about life, having a seltzer and doing a little genealogy,' Jalene added. 'Blessed by this and all the big and small moments,' she concluded. 'I will keep our memories alive.'
