The Chicago Bears concluded their offseason program with mandatory minicamp, which included three practices featuring notable takeaways and highlights under first-year head coach Ben Johnson.
We've gotten some brief glimpses of quarterback Caleb Williams, receivers DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, among others, during these mandatory workouts from the media in attendance. But we've not received some official highlights from these three practices.

In the official highlights from the Bears' socials, we get a glimpse of Williams making impressive throws on the run -- including an insane throw to Odunze -- as well as the defense making plays -- including Tyrique Stevenson's interception and Ruben Hyppolite forcing a fumble.

Urban Meyer unable to properly count Georgia's number of home games

Former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer discussed the Georgia Bulldogs' prospects for the 2025 college football season on "The Triple Option" podcast. The podcast features Meyer, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram and fellow FOX college football analyst Rob Stone. Meyer emphasized the importance of scheduling and how it impacts a team's success. Advertisement "I am sitting here looking at Georgia's schedule. They are playing nine, this is an SEC schedule man, nine games at home," said Meyer. There's no doubt that Georgia scheduled a soft nonconference schedule in 2025. "Marshall, Austin Peay and Charlotte and they've got nine. Count them. Nine home games," added Meyer. "Come on Kirby (Smart) what in the world was that." Meyer fails to mention that Georgia plays Georgia Tech, as usual, in nonconference play. Ohio State Buckeyes former head coach Urban Meyer Well, we counted. We have a copy of Georgia's schedule and can clearly see that the Bulldogs play seven home games, which is very common in this era of college. Georgia does play a pair of neutral site games against Florida and Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs only have three true road games, so that's what Meyer is trying to get at. Advertisement It is a little embarrassing that Meyer, who obviously coached at Florida, did not realize that the Georgia-Florida game is played a neutral site on UGA's schedule. We also can see Ohio State's schedule from their 2024 national championship season, where the Buckeyes did actually play nine home games (includes one home game in the College Football Playoff). The Buckeyes played a three-game regular season nonconference slate of Akron, Western Kentucky and Marshall and had eight regular season games at home, which is a lot. As for Florida, the Gators had a challenging 2024 schedule that still featured seven home games. The Gators have six home games in 2025 while Ohio State had seven home games in 2025, which is the same amount as Georgia. Despite a weak nonconference schedule, Georgia's schedule is by no means easy. The Bulldogs play Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss at home and have road games against Auburn and Tennessee. Neutral site contests against Florida and Georgia Tech present significant challenges as well. Seth Rollins on why Caleb Williams will have better Year 2 than Jayden Daniels

Seth Rollins on why Caleb Williams will have better Year 2 than Jayden Daniels Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will be compared for the duration of their NFL careers. The first and second overall picks, respectively, have all of the talent and potential to thrive and be the face of the league for the long term. But while Daniels had an easy-going rookie season -- en route to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors -- Williams dealt with adversity and still faces plenty of criticism after just one year. During a recent appearance on the "Up & Adams" show, WWE superstar (and noted Bears fan) Seth Rollins explained why he believes Williams will have a better 2025 season than Daniels. "I think Caleb Williams is going to have a better year," Rollins said. "I think last year was an aberration. I think you're going to see a little bit of a sophomore slump. I think people are going to be able to gameplan for (Jayden) better. ... I just think the second year is going to be more difficult. You look at C.J. had a great year, but compared to the rookie year, not quite as good. I think you're going to look at it and see a situation like that whereas expectations are going to be a little bit lower for Caleb, and I think he's going to be able to exceed those. Plus, he's playing in a system with Ben Johnson that's going to be curated better to him than what he was doing with Shane Waldron." While it's easy to deem Rollins a "superfan" defending "his" quarterback, he brings up a good point. A sophomore slump could potentially be in play for Daniels, who had a lights-out rookie season. Also, we haven't even glimpsed Williams' ceiling after his chaotic rookie season that featured incompetent coaching. Now with Ben Johnson in place, we should get a taste of what Williams can really bring to the field. There's no reason Williams and Daniels can't both be great -- and we could very well be witnessing the beginning of that -- but people love to compare and declare who's better. That's a question that wouldn't even be answered for several years. But with both Williams and Daniels in the NFC, they'll be seeing a lot of each other throughout their careers -- especially if their respective teams become perennial playoff teams. Williams and Daniels will square off again for the second time in as many seasons when the Commanders host the Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 6. While Williams nearly won the first match -- before Tyrique Stevenson's blunder on a Hail Mary -- he'll have a chance to redeem himself and even the series with Daniels on Oct. 13.

Eagles Star Addresses Fallout After Outspoken Player's Exit

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. For the second time in a few years, the Philadelphia Eagles have left their former safety CJ Gardner-Johnson disgruntled. The trend continued at the top of the offseason, when the Eagles traded away Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans. The deal came as a shock, considering the Eagles had just re-signed the veteran secondary player one offseason ago. When Gardner-Johnson inked his second deal with the Eagles, he did it with intentions of sticking around for multiple seasons. The Eagles found success with Gardner-Johnson in their secondary once again. Both seasons he played for Philadelphia, the Eagles made a run to the Super Bowl to face the Kansas City Chiefs. The first time, the Eagles couldn't come out on top, with their defense infamously struggling against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City's attack. The second time around, Gardner-Johnson and many Eagles players won their first Super Bowl, getting revenge over Mahomes and the Chiefs. While the defensive line's ability to get to Mahomes was the X-Factor to the win, the secondary did its part and helped the Eagles secure their second Super Bowl win in franchise history. Gardner-Johnson had an opportunity to celebrate for the moment, but it wouldn't be long before he was sent packing. Recently, Eagles safety Reed Blankenship addressed the loss of Gardner-Johnson to a scrum of reporters, wishing Gardner-Johnson well while remaining confident in his squad. C.J. Gardner-Johnson #8 and Reed Blankenship #32 of the Philadelphia Eagles look on against the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field on December 29, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."Obviously, you don't know as a player. I don't make those decisions, but he was a great player for us, and I wish him the best in Houston, too," Blakenship told reporters this week, via "But it's the next guys up in the room. I feel like we got the guys in the locker room to fill that position in. It's gonna be tough, but it is what it is. It's a business out there." When Eagles' defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters that the Gardner-Johnson move was a "salary cap-type thing" that he supported, Gardner-Johnson clearly didn't appreciate the messaging. "I was a test dummy for them," the safety wrote on Instagram. "So, now they can be like my 'scheme' work, or did my skill set make it work?" I had zero issues. [People] had issues with me. So, yeah, let the salary cap be the 'excuse.'" As Gardner-Johnson prepares for a fresh start with the Texans, who've become his fourth team, the Eagles seem more than ready to move on. As the young secondary showed plenty of promise beyond Gardner-Johnson, Blankenship and the Eagles are ready to utilize their next-man-up mentality.
