Magical ‘Eideyyah' eGift Cards from Amazon and UAE artist Abdulla Lutfi

Gulf Today20-03-2025

Amazon.ae has announced the launch of its digital electronic Gift Card (eGift Card) 'Eideyyah' collection, marking its fifth year of celebrating the spirit of Eid Al-Fitr on www.amazon.ae/giftcards. Supporting local talent once again, this year's collection features a renewed collaboration with acclaimed Emirati artist Abdulla Lutfi, whose distinctive black-and-white artistic style resonates with audiences across the UAE and beyond.
The 2025 Amazon.ae Eid eGift Card collection features two new bespoke designs by Lutfi, celebrating the joyous spirit of Eid, through his signature monochromatic style. As a savant and artist on the autism spectrum, Lutfi's unique perspective brings fresh energy to the traditional practice of gift-giving during Eid. Speaking about his collaboration with Amazon.ae, Lutfi said: 'I'm delighted to continue this creative journey with the Amazon.ae Eid eGift Card collection. When I was working on these pieces, I wanted to capture those special Eid moments that make everyone smile - the family gatherings, the celebrations, the joy of giving. It's incredible to think that my artwork helps connect people during such a meaningful time. Eid is a time of togetherness, and I hope my artwork helps to make gifting even more heartwarming.'

Customers can send their loved ones their 'Eideyyah' digitally by purchasing one of the special edition Amazon.ae Eid eGift Card designs available on www.amazon.ae/giftcards or the Amazon app, in denominations of up to Dhs6,000. They can also schedule delivery dates and include a personalised 'Eid Mubarak' message when purchasing the cards. Anas Bukhash, Emirati entrepreneur and interviewer, who was present during the reveal of the two new designs and an art workshop led by Lutfi, said that 'it's great to support Amazon's meaningful Eid initiatives for the second time. I love that they have collaborated with Emirati artist Abdulla Lutfi this year. I truly enjoyed our conversation and learning from him during his workshop.'
Lutfi's creations features two hand-drawn black-and-white illustrations showing Eid celebrations shared among families; the pictures blend traditional elements and a contemporary touch. Stefano Martinelli, Vice President of Amazon MENA, said: 'Reuniting with Abdulla for this year's campaign has been very meaningful, as his artistic vision and unique storytelling abilities came to life to once again capture the true spirit of Eid through his artwork. We are honoured to collaborate with him, offering our customers a meaningful and easy way to share the joy of Eid with their loved ones through his inspiring artwork.'
Since the programme's inception, Amazon.ae's Eid eGift Cards have helped modernise the traditional practice of 'Eideyyah'. They are redeemable against millions of items across more than 30 categories such as beauty, fashion, home, kitchen, and electronics. Available in denominations of up to Dhs6,000 online, the cards are valid for up to 10 years, while delivery to the recipient can be scheduled for a future date. The recipient can also instantly redeem the value directly into their Amazon.ae account, once they receive the card.

To make the most of their eGift Card balance, customers can also utilise the special edition Amazon.ae Eid eGift Cards to shop the Eid Sale on Amazon.ae (Mar. 18 – 29), consisting of thousands of deals. Prime members got first pick of the best deals before everyone else, with exclusive early access on March 18 (00:01am local UAE time). Lutfi is based in Dubai and currently creates his art at his studio Next Chapter at House 10, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. His passion for art is shown in his attention to detail, his black and white view of the world - and a sharp sense of humour. His artistic signature is A.L.
His distinct black and white drawings of the U.A.E's skylines and landscape usually feature an exaggerated, humorous glimpse of everyday Emirati life. He has a special fascination for Japanese culture and everything Japanese and has visited Japan several times. One can detect this influence in his drawings. He has dedicated many of his creations including paintings and sculptures, to various aspects of Japanese life, from pop culture and anime, to icons and landscapes.
As an artist and autistic savant, he sees and interprets the world in a nonconventional way. He uses his condition as an advantage, and his artwork communicates a powerful message and view of his world that is frequently not represented. He is proud of his retentive memory, focus on detail, and spontaneity of his work, and has given several speed drawing workshops and demonstrations at schools and corporate events.
He regards art as his connection to the world and considers himself as an ambassador for People of Determination. He advocates for special needs artists to find and share their unique style. He is also a mentor - which expertise he showed during an art workshop he hosted during the Amazon's 'Eideyyah' cards unveiling in Dubai, where he taught attendees draw the Museum of Future, the Arabic lantern (fanous), Burj Khalifa and an Emirati man and woman in their national dress, among other initiatives.
Lutfi has made a name in the market and has had sold out solo exhibitions. He has fulfilled several commissions from hotels, banks, and also Dubai International Airport, besides illustrating a children's colouring book commissioned by the Embassy of the U.A.E in Washington D.C. Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, Amazon originally started as an online marketplace for books, but gradually expanded its offerings to include a wide range of product categories. It is now referred to as 'The Everything Store'.
