The undefeated Liberty can exhale about the status of their star center.
Jonquel Jones has avoided a serious injury after going down with a right ankle issue in the team's previous contest and has not been ruled out for their home game on Tuesday against the Sky.
The Liberty will see if Jones can return to limited activity on Monday.
Jones was injured in the first quarter of Thursday night's 86-78 victory in Washington.
She rolled her right ankle on a play under the basket and received attention from trainers on the floor before being helped off the court. Jones was initially described as questionable to return to the game before the Liberty declared her out.

The 31-year-old, who was named MVP of the 2024 WNBA Finals, is averaging 13.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season while shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range.
The Liberty (8-0) have a few options at center behind Jones.
Nyara Sabally, the team's primary backup big, has missed the past six games due to a right knee injury, but head coach Sandy Brondello said Sabally could return for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Sky.
Isabelle Harrison, the veteran forward who joined the team this winter as a free agent, has provided useful minutes off the bench.
And Breanna Stewart is capable of playing the 5 in small-ball lineups.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy could be in the running for MVP in 2025.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy could be in the running for MVP in 2025. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Francisco 49ers had a disappointing 2024 season, as they finished dead last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record. But Brock Purdy will be looking to lead them right back to the playoffs this season to redeem themselves. Advertisement The NFL Most Valuable Player Award is the prize that everyone wants and chases after over the course of the season, and the 49ers star quarterback may have a shot at competing for it this season. According to Sharp Football Analysis, the 49ers have the easiest schedule in the NFL in 2025 by a pretty wide margin. This means that Purdy will hopefully be looking good while the teams wins some games. But if you look towards the end of the season, that is where the 25-year-old field general will really get to shine. After their BYE in Week 14, the Niners will face the Tennessee Titans, the Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Bears, and then they finish their season off at home against the division rival Seattle Seahawks. The thing is, only one of those four teams had a winning record in 2024. Advertisement It's the last portion of the season that will have a big impact on who wins the MVP, and Purdy could be looking really good as the season winds down. It would also be a good story, especially with Purdy being the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. If he is able to win the MVP Award, he will go from 'Mr. Irrelevant' to 'Mr. Relevant' very quickly. Chipper Jones crushes ‘toxic' MLB umpire after questionable calls in Cubs-Tigers
Chipper Jones has had enough of a certain MLB umpire. After multiple questionable calls were made during the Cubs-Tigers game on Saturday, Jones went scorched earth on Doug Eddings. The Cubs' 6-1 win was marred with several apparent missed calls, including a couple of called third strikes — including one that looked high and outside to Pete Crow-Armstrong — that were well outside of the zone and what looked to be a wrong ruling on a checked swing by Kyle Tucker. Jones took to X, claiming Eddings is one of the worst umpires in baseball. 'Not only one of the worst umpires in the league for going on 2 decades … but consistently one of the most confrontational. Toxic combination!' Jones wrote. 3 Doug Eddings talks to the dugout of the Chicago Cubs in the third inning against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on June 7, 2025. Rick Osentoski-Imagn Images Jones, who played for the Braves from 1993-2012, had plenty of run-ins with Eddings, who began working in the MLB in the late 1990s. Eddings has worked 14 postseason series, including two World Series. He was also a part of the umpiring crew in the World Series last year between the Yankees and Dodgers. Jones seemingly doesn't have many positive memories from games umpired by Eddings. 3 The Braves' Chipper Jones throws out the ceremonial first pitch on April 22, in Atlanta. Getty Images He isn't the only one, either. In June 2023, Eddings issued a warning to the Diamondbacks in a game against the Nationals. During the bottom of the first inning, there was complaining heard from the Arizona dugout and Eddings took it upon himself to address it, which was caught on the Bally Sports Arizona TV broadcast due to low game attendance. 'Remember, there's not a lot of fans here and I can hear everything you're saying,' Eddings told the dugout, which was also a slightly embarrassing shot at the Nationals, who were in last place in the NL East at the time. 3 Willson Contreras #40 of the St. Louis Cardinals talks with umpire Doug Eddings after Eddings called pitcher Andre Pallante #53 of the St. Louis Cardinals with a balk in the fifth inning against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on May 16, 2025 Getty Images Jones clearly wants some action to be taken, seeing Eddings' calls as more of a troublesome pattern rather than the exception in the league.

Nikola Jokic's Offseason Video Turns Heads
Nikola Jokic's Offseason Video Turns Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Nikola Jokic had a phenomenal 2024-25 season, becoming just the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double for an entire campaign, joining Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson. Jokic averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.6 blocks per game for the Denver Nuggets and finished second in MVP voting. Advertisement Unfortunately for Jokic, this season ended the same way 2023-24 did. The Oklahoma City Thunder eliminated the Nuggets in seven games in the Western Conference semifinals, a year after the Minnesota Timberwolves did the same. Jokic averaged 28.4 points, 13.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.9 blocks per game against the Thunder, but it wasn't enough. Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (15) smiles after a play against the Oklahoma City Adams-Imagn Images So, the offseason started early for Jokic once again. The seven-time All-Star was asked about his offseason plans after losing Game 7 to the Thunder, and he hilariously stated he was going to drink a lot of beer in the coming days. Jokic appears to have now headed back to Serbia, and a clip of his has gone viral on social media. The 30-year-old is playing a sport in it, but it appears to be kick volleyball, not basketball. Fans had some interesting reactions to Jokic's offseason activity. Advertisement "How can anyone not like this guy?" one fan asked. "How does he have feel for the game ever here?" another fan wondered. "Just your 3x MVP and NBA Champ out there chillin', playing with neighborhood kids at the local public pool," said one fan. "These guys would have helped him more than Jamal (Murray) did," stated a fan. "That's the greatest basketball mind of all time," a fan said. "He gives zero (expletive) what others think! Proud to be a Serb," claimed one fan. Jokic is going to have plenty of time on his hands to do whatever he wants. The one thing that is certain, though, is that when the 2025-26 season starts, he's going to be dominating on the basketball court once again.
