WSIB Workers to Hold Information Picket at Union Station as Strike Enters July
TORONTO — As the WSIB strike enters its third month, members of the Ontario Compensation Employees Union (OCEU/CUPE Local 1750) will hold an information picket at Toronto's Union Station on Tuesday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The action aims to educate commuters returning to work after the long weekend about the ongoing lockout of more than 3,600 WSIB workers, the impact on injured workers and employers, and the need for WSIB leadership to return to the bargaining table with a fair deal.

'We're entering July and WSIB management continues to delay and deflect while critical services remain disrupted,' said OCEU president Harry Goslin. 'The public deserves to know what's really going on — that the people who support injured workers have been shut out instead of bargained with.'

The picket follows the delivery of a petition to the WSIB board last week, signed by more than 3,000 frontline staff, CUPE members and concerned Ontarians. The petition calls for an immediate end to the lockout and urges the board to uphold its governance responsibility.

OCEU is calling on WSIB leadership to provide a fair and comprehensive deal that allows workers to return to their roles supporting injured Ontarians and protecting the integrity of the workers' compensation system.
