Cast of Iconic '80s Drama 'Dallas' Is Virtually Unrecognizable Nearly 35 Years After the Show's End originally appeared on Parade.
The original cast of the '80s TV drama Dallas is proving you can go home again. The stars of the headline-making family drama, which aired its first season in 1978 (gasp!), recently reunited for a gathering of Ewing family members—and their enemies—that has fans zooming in to see what the iconic stars of the highly rated series look like now.
Thanks to Blue Lagoon star Christopher Atkins, who portrayed steamy camp counselor Peter Richards for one season in 1983–1984, Gen Xers are getting a first look at the recent Dallas cast reunion."You still look like that kid," one fan commented to Atkins, 64, on a post he shared to his Instagram account featuring the Dallas originals posing for an epic group photo.
Absent from the photo are Larry Hagman—whose 'Who Shot J.R.?' storyline was one of the biggest TV events in history—Barbara Bel Geddes, who portrayed matriarch Miss Ellie Ewing, and Jim Davis, who played Ewing family patriarch Jock Ewing.
Hagman passed away in 2012 at the age of 81, while Bel Geddes died in 2005 at 82, and Davis was 71 when he passed away in 1981.Stunning star Victoria Principal, 75, was also absent from the Dallas cast group photo.
Looking dazzling at 84 is actress Linda Gray, alongside the still-handsome Patrick Duffy, 76, whose nice-guy Bobby Ewing became one of Hollywood's hottest heartthrobs. Charlene Tilton, 66, still shines decades after portraying Lucy Ewing.
Comments ranged from adoring to envious, with fans of the iconic show coming down with a serious case of FOMO (that's the fear of missing out). Dallas may have aired its last season in 1991—with a three-season reboot in 2012—but fan reaction to seeing the original cast proves their popularity is still as strong as it was in the 1980s.

‘I Stir It Up': Jerry Jones Enrages Cowboys Fans With ‘Soap Opera' Comment

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has irked his fan base after admitting his team is a 'soap opera 365 days a year.' Jones made the comment during a red carpet interview before the premiere of Netflix's 'America's Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys' documentary. 'The Cowboys are a soap opera 365 days a year. When it gets slow, I stir it up,' Jones said. 'And so it's wonderful to have the great athletes, have the great players, but there's something more there. There's sizzle, there's emotion and if you will, there's controversy. That controversy is good stuff in terms of keeping and having people's attention.' The Cowboys owner has certainly stirred things up this training camp, refusing to negotiate with All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons and his agent as both sides remain dug in on a contract impasse. Parsons revealed he spoke to Jones months ago about an extension and asked him to speak with his agent to get a deal done, while Jones believes he had a handshake agreement with Parsons, despite nothing being put in writing. Parsons has requested a trade. Cowboys fans were quite displeased with Jones' 'soap opera' comments, taking to social media to express their frustration: Beyond the Parsons situation, the Cowboys are entering the season with a new head coach after Mike McCarthy was fired following a 7-10 campaign. Instead of seeking an outside voice for a fresh start, Jones promoted offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who is serving as a head coach for the first time in his career. The move was widely criticized. It's been 30 years since the Cowboys last appeared in and won a Super Bowl. They haven't reached an NFC Championship game in that same span. As long as Jones remains in charge, it appears he will continue prioritizing his 'soap opera' over winning championships. Related Headlines Eagles Daily: A.J. Brown Injury Setback? 'Twilight' Heartthrob Is Unrecognizable After Major Style Switch-Up: 'Be Still My Millennial Heart'

'Twilight' Heartthrob Is Unrecognizable After Major Style Switch-Up: 'Be Still My Millennial Heart' originally appeared on Parade. As the countless devoted fans of the Twilight film series know, Cullen family member Jasper Hale — played by Jackson Rathbone — was known for his wavy, chin-length blonde hair (and startling amber eyes). But as a recent video proved, Rathbone has definitely moved on from his iconic character's fans can't get enough. In a clip shared to TikTok this week, Rathbone, 40, sat in a chair at a hair salon, where his brown locks had recently been cut into a more close-cropped 'do. As the hairdresser cleaned up the edges with his clippers, he seemed to nick Rathbone, saying, "Oh, geez, did I get you?" Rathbone's answer — delivered while looking directly into the camera — came courtesy of a soundbite featuring Jasper's iconic line from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: "Those are my battle scars." Commenters made it clear they approved of his new style, with one gushing, "He's still so fiiiiiine." "Damn, he's finer than ever," a second person agreed, with another adding, "Aged like fine wine." "Be still my lil millennial heart omg," declared someone else. In a 2008 interview with Seventeen, Rathbone opened up about dying his naturally dark hair blonde for the Twilight movies, saying, "I really enjoyed it." "I was always a character actor when I was in theatre," he continued. "I kind of find that it helps the audience, especially with Jasper. I mean I'm not actually blonde so I had to bleach my hair blonde. I'm fairly pale. I'm more of an indoor sports kind of guy. I'm a musician so I spent most of my time awake at night and in the recording studio tucked away from the sun." "But I really do love to change appearances for a lot of the characters I play," Rathbone added.'Twilight' Heartthrob Is Unrecognizable After Major Style Switch-Up: 'Be Still My Millennial Heart' first appeared on Parade on Aug 15, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 15, 2025, where it first appeared.
