Osborne Street Car Park in Hull gets CCTV upgrade
According to the council, 50 pre-existing CCTV cameras have had software upgrades.Kerry Ryan, Hull City Council's head of transport and traffic management, said the funding has helped them make "substantial improvements" to security at the car park.She said: "By having a comprehensive and integrated CCTV network, we can now maintain a higher level of vigilance, ensuring a safer environment for all car park users."We hope these safety enhancements will not only deter anti-social behaviour but also make the car park more welcoming for residents and visitors alike."

Police warning after seal pup bitten by dogs on Mablethorpe beach

Dennis Drew, one of the directors at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, said the seal had been receiving treatment in hospital and would eventually be released back into the said: "It is responding to medication for a mouth infection and it could be with us potentially for several months while it recovers."We couldn't see any clear bite marks from the dogs so it may have just been nipped."We're advising people to be wary when they're walking on the beach and when they do let them off, to make sure they have a good recall as dogs are just doing what they instinctively know, which is to defend themselves." Man critical after Wakefield city centre assault

Body found in Richmond river search for 12-year-old boy
A body has been found by police searching a North Yorkshire river for a missing 12-year-old were called just after 17:00 BST on Saturday after the boy was seen going into the River Swale in Yorkshire Police carried out extensive searches along with fire and rescue officers and specialist search teams, but said the body of a child was recovered at 22:45 BST.
