Hairstylist slices a mom's hand open after giving her daughter, 11, a revenge cut for arriving late to appointment
A Louisiana hairstylist gave an 11-year-old girl a revenge cut after her mother refused to pay the $25 late fee.
An unidentified mother and daughter arrived for their appointment at Draft Picks Barbershop in Baton Rouge at 5.10pm - ten minutes past their scheduled time.
The stylist charges a $25 late fee for any client that is later than ten minutes past the scheduled time.
'My daughter said: "Well, your grace period states that I'm late after ten minutes. I was here at 5.10",' Conchota Singleton, the child's grandmother, told WBRZ.
After refusing to pay the late fee, the hairstylist, who was also not identified, grabbed a pair of scissors and began cutting off the girl's braids, surveillance footage posted to Singleton's Facebook page showed
'There's ways to handle things. You can't take the law into your own hands,' Singleton told to WBRZ.
The hairstylist had canceled the April 14 appointment and had asked them to come in the day after for the service, which the mother and daughter agreed to, the grandmother said in a Facebook post.
She wrote: 'Now, keep in mind my daughter had to pay for the entire hairstyle services upfront. So she paid for the hair services and the stylist canceled y'all.
'So she braids my granddaughter's hair and when my daughter refused to pay $25 she threatens to take my granddaughter's hair down.'
The stylist then picked up a pair of scissors and began cutting the girl's hair after a tense conversation with the mother.
The mother, who is six months pregnant, then attempted to grab her daughter's hair and pull it away from the stylist and the pair began to tussle.
While jerking the girl's head around, the stylist tried to cut the braids off her head as the mother attempted to push her hand away.
The scuffle ending with the barber slicing the mother's hand with the scissors, the grandmother said.
Eventually, a barber and another client across the salon intervened, before the girl managed to pull her mother out of the shop.
Draft Picks told DailyMail.com in a statement that the hairstylist no longer works for the company.
'We want to be clear: we do not condone or tolerate the actions that this stylist displayed,' owner, TJ Malveaux, told DailyMail.com.
'We extend our sincerest apologies to the client and family affected, and to anyone who may feel uneasy as a result of this situation. This incident does not reflect the values or standards we uphold at Draft Picks.
'At Draft Picks Barbershop, the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our clients are our top priorities.'

Everything we know as body found near UK airport in car 'abandoned for months'
A dead body was found in the back seat of a car parked near Gatwick Airport on Friday - locals claimed the car had been abandoned for months and was covered in dust A dead body has shockingly been discovered in the back seat of a car parked close to Gatwick Airport. The white BMW had reportedly been parked just a mile away from the major airport for months, but the corpse was only discovered on Friday. Ticket inspectors were also believed to have been in the area and slapped notices on the vehicle but failed to see the dead body inside the car. Forensic officers were spotted at the scene along with police as an investigation to establish how the person died and how their lifeless body was missed has been launched. How was the body found? The car was noticed after locals sent Crawley Borough Council multiple complaints to report a parking violation. The local council issued a warning notice on May 19 and detailed how the car was "untaxed", even slapping a note on the car that threatened it would be towed unless moved in a week. Despite this, the car is taxed until January 1, 2026, according to the government's vehicle tax site, and has a valid MOT until November 25. It is understood the alarm was raised by a recovery vehicle driver who went to take the car away. They called police to report a possible dead body inside the vehicle. How did the recovery vehicle driver spot the body? A person in a local Facebook group described the moment the recovery vehicle driver found the dead body. They claimed the driver "saw a man on the back seats, with a blanket over the front two seats to build a 'barrier' across as he was lying on the backseat - most likely was sleeping in the back". Another person added: "A recovery driver came this morning and smashed the back window to take the motor. As he did that he noticed the dead body on the back seats." Where was the dead body found? The vehicle was parked around a mile away from Gatwick Airport. It had been left at an industrial estate on Whittle Way in Crawley, around 2.3 miles away from Junction 10 of the M23. This road is home to several businesses and close to Parcelforce Worldwide's airport depot. How long has the body been there? It is unclear exactly how long the dead body had been left in the car - which was covered in dust. Some locals claimed the vehicle had been parked in the same spot since October last year. Other residents in a Facebook group shared how long they had seen the vehicle parked for. One person said: "I reported it about four months ago but the council only put stickers on it - but it has been there for eight months now." How did the person die? The circumstances around the tragic death have not been made public. It is unclear how the person died but Sussex Police confirmed the death is not currently being treated as suspicious. What have the police said? Police revealed an investigation into the shock discovery has been launched. A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to Whittle Way in Northgate, Crawley, at around 10.30am on Friday, 6 June, to reports of a body found in a vehicle. "Enquiries are ongoing to identify the individual and establish the full circumstances of the situation."

Jared Leto denies allegations of sexual misconduct from nine women
Jared Leto is facing allegations of sexual misconduct from several women, including some who were teens at the time. The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman has been accused of inappropriate behaviour by nine women over a period of two decades. These claims involve alleged victims who say they were teenagers when the incidents occurred. According to an exposé published by Air Mail, the matter has 'been an open secret for a long time.' Representatives for the 53-year-old House of Gucci star have denied all the accusations to the publication. The claims against Leto resurfaced after a Los Angeles-based DJ, Allie Teilz, re-shared a post on Facebook from 2012 to her Instagram Story. In it, the 30-year-old alleged she was assaulted by the star when she was 17. She alleges that Leto 'knew' how old she was but 'didn't care'. 'You're not really in LA until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… in a kilt… And a snow hat,' she wrote. 'I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17.' Teilz also described Leto's actions as 'predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.' An unnamed alleged second victim also told Air Mail that she was 16 when Leto briefly spoke with her at Urth Caffé in LA. Taking place in 2006, she alleges he got her phone number and called her days later. During the call, she says he sounded 'weird'. 'I don't know if he was on drugs or what… it was the weirdest, grossest voice… [but] for me, it's Jared, you know?' Claiming they would speak on the phone late at night, she says their conversations became 'sexual', with Leto asking if she'd 'ever had a boyfriend' and questions such as, 'Have you ever sucked a d**k?' A third accuser, Laura La Rue, 33, says she met Leto in 2008 at an animal rights event. At the time, he was 36 and she was 16. She says Leto asked what her age was, to which she responded. Despite knowing she was 16, she claims Leto still asked for her phone number, later inviting her over to his home in LA. There, he allegedly 'flirted' with and 'teased' her the 'whole time'. The model also claims that Leto was fully naked at one point and walked into the room as if it were 'normal'. 'I thought maybe this was just what adult men do.' A fourth woman, also anonymous, has said Leto approached her at an 18+ club when she was 20, where his assistant asked for her number. She said they 'hook[ed] up a little' at the nightclub and she visited his home several times afterwards. Echoing the second victim's descriptions, she also said Leto was 'weird'. 'I know some people are kinky, and that's fine,' she reasoned, but said 'his kind of kink … just didn't feel right.' Furthermore, a fifth alleged victim has said she and Leto exchanged flirtatious messages while she was underage. She allegedly also visited his home, where he would ask her questions of a sexual nature, including, 'Do any of the little boys you hang out with f**k you?' After she turned 18, their relationship was allegedly taken to another level. At one point, Leto is said to have 'pulled his penis out and started masturbating'. She says he put her hand on his penis and told her: 'I want you to spit on it.' In the original Air Mail piece, it is claimed that Leto was 'known' for taking an interest in younger women. One woman told the outlet: 'I remember being so physically ill to the point of throwing up when I passed billboards … for his films, and just wondering how everybody in LA knows.' A rep for Leto said to Air Mail: 'Their (the women's) communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate and Ms. La Rue later applied to work as Mr. Leto's personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions.' La Rue denies ever applying to be Leto's PA. The actor's publicist also defends that he 'has not had a drink or used drugs in over 35 years', following claims that he hosted parties at his mansion attended by approximately 60 'very young women to four or five men'. It's claimed guests were encouraged to go skinny dipping at the events. Leto, now an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, first achieved recognition in 1994 for his role as Jordan Catalano in the teen drama television series My So-Called Life. He went on to have supporting roles in Fight Club (1999), Girl, Interrupted (1999), and American Psycho (2000), before turning his focus to music. More Trending Leto returned to acting with the 2002 thriller Panic Room and had subsequent roles in major blockbusters Suicide Squad (2016) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Meanwhile, in 1998, he formed Thirty Seconds to Mars, a band that has gone on to sell 15million records worldwide. Relationship-wise, Leto was married to actress Cameron Diaz from 1999 to 2003, followed by Russian model Valery Kaufman from 2015 to 2022. Reps for Jared Leto have been contacted for comment.
