Non-monogamy expert Effy Blue suggested they give intimacy a go with other people, other than their partner.
Speaking to the camera, she told viewers: "Today is about challenging Tom to be independent.
"I'm curious to see how that will affect the dynamics they have between them.
"Lauren needs to be a partner to Tom, not a caretaker."
After returning to their room, Lauren told Tom: "Don't be nervous.
"You absolutely got this."
Lauren admitted it was her idea to take part on the show - saying she felt like they had been "thrown in at the deep end".
She told the camera: "But to be able to have him to have the confidence that we can go off, have our fun, come back to each other at the end of the night and it's absolutely insane."
But it looked like things had got too intense for Tom, who retreated to the bathroom to be sick.

The narrator then said: "But the thought of flying solo entirely naked isn't sitting well with Tom."
Tom could be heard vomiting in the toilet and looking distressed.
A distraught Tom confessed: "This is going to be horrible,' to which Lauren replies: "I just want to cuddle you."
Tom added: "I feel absolutely petrified and sick."
Lauren is then seen hugging her man from behind.
Trying to reassure him, she told him: "All that anyone can ask is that you just try, okay?"
Last week one man was left in tears after watching his wife romp with a woman during a threesome.
Alana and Alex took part on the show, which sees couples explore the idea of an open relationship.
The couple were in their bedroom preparing to be visited by female resident Georgie.
They hoped they could take the next step towards their ultimate goal of engaging in a couple swap by having a threesome first.
Alana confessed: "I don't know how this is going to go seeing Alex with another woman."
Alex then opened up to the camera and said he was worried about how Alana might feel to see him with someone else.
He said: "I think I felt overwhelmed because it went from a zero to a hundred.
"And it caught me off guard really.
"I can't quite match that just now."
Later, after Georgie left, his wife said she had loved every single minute.
She then asked Alex if he enjoyed it to which he replied: "I loved seeing you enjoy it."
After his wife snuggled up under the duvet to go to sleep, Alex was left musing.
And as he sat up in bed tears streamed down his face as he admitted he was unsure if an open relationship was what he wanted.

Taskmaster fans 'mortified' by 'humiliating' moment in Channel 4 show
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Channel 4 series Taskmaster is known for its utterly bonkers scenes, but this moment in season 19 might just have topped them all. The new season has pitted comedians Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Mathew Baynton, Rosie Ramsey, and Stevie Martin against one another for 10 weeks of wild, wacky and wonderful tasks. By the end, one of them will ultimately be crowned champion. Oh, and win a bust of host Greg Davies' head. In the latest episode, Glass Half Most, which aired on June 12, Horrible Histories star Matthew Baynton shocked and horrified fans with his execution of one task set by the one and only… little Alex Horne. All five contestants were told to eat yoghurt in the most or least 'dignified' way. They could do this however they wanted but the results had to be 'extreme'. An instruction Mathew didn't take lightly. Cue the Ghosts actor pouring yoghurt onto Alex's shoes before crawling towards him in his underwear and licking it off while a group of bystanders filmed him to complete this ritual of utter humiliation. 'Please forgive me Daddy, I've got your shoes all mucky,' Mathew said as he liked the yoghurt which Alex voiced his approval for. Gregg seemed suitably amused in the studio, although Mathew noted after-the-fact: 'There aren't enough points in the world that could have made that worthwhile for the cost it's going to have.' Even though he collected the top score of five points, he has scarred viewers at home with his display… perhaps forever. 'I just watched the newest episode of Taskmaster. What Mat did for the yogurt task was the most unhinged thing I've seen on that show,' Shania wrote on X. 'Mat's undignified yogurt task is crazy, absolutely foul,' villagesillyguy echoed. 'There was something on this latest episode of taskmaster that i didn't think you could legally broadcast on public television,' rorschachisgay posted. Then added: 'I cannot describe what the f**k it felt like sitting on the couch and seeing this happen with no warning.' 'Hope Mat knows this clip will forever haunt him for the rest of his life and career. As a fandom I fear we have to be prepared for this to be mentioned and talked about at every event foreseeable future,' Taylor Kate reflected. 'Really hoping interviewers stop asking Mat Baynton about his time on horrible histories and instead spend the next 15 years focusing on that time he licked yogurt off of alex horne's shoes while calling him daddy on taskmaster,' italianpatbutcher shared. 'Mathew Baynton willingly humiliating himself on national television for yet another week in a row,' Caz said. 'I watch Taskmaster with my PARENTS, watching this task was mortifying,' Addy0302 added. 'It was horrifying, disturbing, just awful all around. 10/10, couldn't stop laughing, Taskmaster genuinely is the show that keeps on giving,' hydrioid101 praised. In an interview with Metro, Mathew admitted that he did 'something he might regret for the rest of my life' when discussing what to expect from his stint on the Bafta-winning show. We may finally have just witnessed exactly what he was referring to. 'The bizarre thing about that is that no one is telling you what to do, it's your decision. 'So I was the maker of my own misfortune in that sense… it's like you just go into this strange mental space, and all you're thinking about is the task, and you're being forced to make decisions quite quickly, and you just do it and throw yourself into it. 'It's only when you're in the car on the way home that you think, 'Oh s**t, that's going on TV, that's going to last forever'.' It was the idea of opening himself up to public judgment which gave him a 'momentary wobble' when signing up to the show but ultimately he decided to go for it. Boy are we glad he did as he has been part of a season churning out comedy gold with the latest episode convincing fans this season could be an all timer. More Trending 'Series 19 is proving to be one of the best ever series of Taskmaster – each contestant is bringing something different to the mix. Great to see this show continue to go from strength to strength,' Matthew Rimmer said. 'S19 has just been such a joy. every new ep is the greatest episode so far, and the chemistry between the cast is just so excellent. i don't want this series to end,' jar jireh binks agreed. 'This weeks Taskmaster is an all time classic. I wasn't sure about this line up for a few episodes, but it's growing into an all timer,' WIll Sugg added. Sunday Brunch halted for 'sad' news as star pulls out amid health battle
Hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer were forced to reveal that one of their guests, Yungblud, would not be appearing on the Channel 4 show Sunday Brunch experienced an unexpected shake-up after a guest had to cancel their appearance due to medical advice. The popular Channel 4 programme was back on the telly on Sunday (June 15), serving up its usual mix of culinary delights, banter and tunes. Presenters Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer were joined by a fresh set of celebs. During the episode, the duo engaged in conversation with stars such as Josh Groban, Gabriel Howell, Tom Hughes, Yinka Bokinni, and Lesley Joseph, while chart-topping sensation AJ Tracey delivered a musical performance. However, singer Yungblud was notably absent from the line-up, having been forced to withdraw from the show following his doctor's orders. "YUNGBLUD sadly isn't here," Tim announced. He elaborated: "He was going to be on last week's show and he was ill. Then he was going to be on this week's show and he's ill again.", reports the Manchester Evening News. Simon contributed: "He's sent us a sick note Tim. A little handwritten sick note." Tim then presented Yungblud's forthcoming album, Idols, which featured a handwritten note on the reverse. As Simon read out the note, he conveyed: "In summary, he said, 'Dear Tim and Simon, I regret to inform you that I Yungblud will not be able to appear on your show this Sunday again. Doctors are insisting I spend the week horizontal.'". Simon disclosed: "He's got tonsils," before resuming with Yungblud's note: "Enclosed is a £20 note in the hope that you will shamelessly promote my album that comes out this Friday, it's really good." Last week saw Yungblud bow out, with pop and Indie sensation Jerub stepping in at the eleventh hour to fill the void. Taking a seat for a chat on the couch with the hosts, Jerub admitted it had been a "tight squeeze" managing to pencil in his studio appearance, but he jumped at the chance when approached, eager to "make it work." Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday at 10am on Channel 4.

Dog trainer breaks down in tears watching 'cruel' owner smack pooch and pin her to the ground - before issuing damning five-word verdict
A dog trainer broke down in tears, watching a 'cruel' owner smack his pooch and pin her to the ground - before issuing a damning five-word verdict. The shocking moment came on a resurfaced episode of It's Me Or The Dog, which sees trainer Victoria Stilwell help dog owners struggling with their pet's behaviour. The show, first aired on Channel 4 in 2005 for three years before a Really reboot in 2021, was inspired by Supernanny, which offers similar help but with children. This particular episode sees British-born Victoria head to assist American couple Joe and Mandy, who are having trouble keeping control of their dog Dakota. An upsetting moment sees Joe strike the dog on her nose and hold her down after she will not stop chasing his broom as he sweeps his patio. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Referring to his pet's behaviour, Joe explains to the camera: 'When Dakota is in the backyard, she kind of makes it miserable if I have to do yard work.' Victoria asks how he would normally try to get the dog to stop - after which he grabs Dakota's collar and turns her on her side so she is lying on the floor, with him holding her down. He says: 'Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.' But the trainer is visibly distressed at his approach, putting her head in her hands: 'When you hold a dog down like that, people think that dog's calming down but actually, the dog's not calmed down at all. 'What they do is they shut down, they learn, instinct tells them they're being put in a compromised position so in order to survive, they shut down.' She could not have been more right - as Joe soon slaps Dakota round the face, after she managed to wriggle free from his grasp and grab the broom in her mouth. As the dog yelps in pain, Victoria winces, with her pre-recorded voiceover saying: 'When Joe gets angry, he slaps her and he doesn't just tap her. 'I heard the connection of his hand to the bone on her nose and it was hard.' She delivers some hard truths to the violent pet owner: 'That's a pretty hard whack. 'It's not so much the hardness of the whack, it's the action of the whack that concerns me. That could actually backfire. 'God forbid one of the children goes to touch her and she just sees this hand coming towards her, thinks back to when she was hit and bang, goes for the hand. 'And I've seen it happen a lot.' After Joe's violent display, it is clear Victoria has a lot of work to do - so she takes them to a dog training centre to introduce them to clicker training. The approach has owners use a clicker every time their dog successfully responds to a command - making the animal associate the noise with a reward. Joe's wife Mandy tries it with almost immediate success, with Dakota responding quickly to her attempts to make her sit and stay using the clicker. But things are not so smooth when Joe tries it out - as the dog flinches even when he tries to reach out to give her a treat. Victoria says: 'She flinched because she's used to you hitting her. When you do that, it just really does not build trust. You get angry when she doesn't respond to you.' The trainer then delivers her damning five-word verdict on his behaviour: 'That's your fault, not hers.' She explained this tough love approach to the couple elsewhere in the programme: 'I see this dog getting blamed for so much negative behaviour you could have prevented. 'It's very, very difficult, when you are correcting a dog, but you haven't actually taught the dog how to behave. So, it's really actually not the dog's fault. 'You brought this dog into your family, it is therefore your responsibility to train this dog to be able to succeed in your family.' Her tough approach finally got Joe to face the truth: 'Dakota doesn't really trust me as well. It's mostly my fault. 'The relationship I've had with the dog is going to take some time to fix.' Alongside the clicker training, Victoria also gets the couple to take Dakota to an agility centre. She explained: 'When you give a dog a sport, not only is it getting rid of all that physical energy and the dog is thinking but also, it's creating a really good bond between you. It's teamwork.' Dakota turned out to be a natural at it, flying around the course after the trainer encouraged Joe and Mandy to give her enthusiastic praise to motivate her. Even Victoria was shocked by the dog's performance: 'That's amazing, that's quite advanced, that's impressive. 'When I came in that first day, there was no praise on this dog but now you're getting that connection and she's just really listening to you.' Joe was a new man after it: 'It made me feel great to see Dakota do so well on the agility course. It would be fun to bring her down and do it together.' And when Victoria returns to visit the family two weeks later, she is able to see all her hard work paying off. At the start of the episode, things had been looking bad, with Joe saying: 'Has it put strain on our marriage? It's just an extra added stress we really don't need. 'We've only had her a year - I've tried to get rid of her twice already. 'I've gotten to the point with Dakota where I've posted her on the Internet while Mandy is at work, to see if I can get rid of her quickly.' But his relationship with Dakota had completely transformed by the end of the episode. Joe and Mandy are seen calmly clicker training their pooch, who is herself noticeably calmer, less agitated and better behaved than before. Dakota is treated less as a problem and more as an active, loved member of the family, with praise lavished on her out on a walk with the kids. Joe is even seen out cycling alone with Dakota, who runs happily alongside him: 'I think Mandy is definitely happy Dakota and I are starting to form a bond. 'I feel like she's become more of my buddy, she's actually becoming my dog now.' Victoria was very happy with their efforts: 'I'm really impressed with the success they're having with Dakota.'
