
FrancoFilm festival to begin today with global cinematic lineup

The third edition of the FrancoFilm Festival kicks off today in Bahrain, bringing a vibrant slate of twelve French-language films from nine countries to the big screen.
Organisers have released the complete schedule for the sixday cultural celebration, with screenings taking place at EPIX Cinemas in Dana Mall and a special closing event at the Bahrain National Museum.
Hosted by the Embassy of France to the Kingdom of Bahrain in partnership with Alliance Française Bahrain, this year's edition features contributions from the embassies of Armenia, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Switzerland, and Vietnam, highlighting the global reach of Francophone storytelling.
Opening day screenings
The festival opens today with:

TDT | Manama Michelle Dsouza was crowned The Indian Club BFC May Queen 2025 in a dazzling finale that captivated an audience of over 1,000 on Friday night. The grand event, held at The Indian Club in Manama, unfolded across multiple fashion segments and high-energy performances that kept the crowd engaged well past midnight. Organisers ensured a seamless blend of pageantry and entertainment, with the audience treated to both competitive fashion rounds and vibrant dance displays. Grace and Glamour The evening opened with a group dance by the 14 contestants, choreographed by Arti of Aurians Academy, followed by three competitive rounds: casual, ethnic, and party wear. Contestants showcased style and confidence, with evident professionalism attributed to grooming by choreographer Asar Ziya. A panel of judges had the tough task of selecting the top five finalists for the question-and-answer round. The crown ultimately went to Michelle Dsouza, with Feryl Rodrigues named first runner-up and Muskan Bhargav second runner-up.
