New Hero in Season 17?
FAQs
Season 17 of Overwatch 2 is set to launch on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The update will follow the usual release pattern by going live as soon as Season 16 ends. Overwatch 2 Season 17 is scheduled to begin on June 24, 2025. This date is based on the in-game Battle Pass timer. Unless there is a delay, the new season will start immediately after the current one ends. Overwatch usually follows this format for seasonal rollouts. The theme for Season 17 is 'Powered Up.' It includes character skins inspired by retro video games and academic styles. Genji and Sombra receive 8-bit outfits. Cassidy gets a Delinquent look. Junkrat appears as Professor Fawkes. These skins are part of the new Battle Pass, which players can unlock by progressing through the tiers.Season 17 adds a new map voting system. Players in a match lobby will now be able to vote for one of three map options before a match begins. The map with the most votes will be selected for that round. Two of the three maps shown will be among the least played by members in that lobby. The third option will be selected at random. This aims to improve variety and provide a fresh experience.Stadium, introduced in Season 16, will see an update in Season 17. It was initially set to get a Payload Race mode. However, the developers changed plans and introduced Forge instead. The Forge feature lets players copy or share builds and loadouts with others. This makes it easier for casual players to use strategies from high-level play. The feature is aimed at increasing collaboration and creativity in gameplay.Flashpoint mode, which has only had two maps since its release in Season 6, will now receive a third map called Aatlis. Aatlis is set in Morocco. It is designed to support fast-paced gameplay, quick rotations, and tight combat spaces. This is expected to make Flashpoint matches more dynamic. The official update also mentioned map adjustments, but no details have been given on which older maps will be modified.Season 17 will not include a new hero. Overwatch 2 adds new characters once every two seasons. Freja was added in Season 16, so the next hero is expected in Season 18. However, players will get a chance to try Wuyang, the next Support hero, in Quick Play later in Season 17.No. Heroes are added every two seasons. Season 17 will not have a new hero, but Wuyang will be available briefly for testing in Quick Play.Map voting lets players choose from three maps before a match. Two maps are chosen from less-played options, while the third is random, offering more control and variety.

How to get Battlefield 6 rewards through BF2042
Image via DICE. After the end of the open beta phase of Battlefield 6, DICE added new content in Battlefield 2042 to hook the players to its franchise. The open beta spanned through two weekends and garnered over half-a-million concurrent players, which was a huge success of the franchise, especially after the disastrous performance of BF2042. Well, it seems DICE was able to restore the lost faith of the fans in this long standing franchise, and as a consequence Battlefield 2042 was enriched with a sudden update. Not only that, the premium Battle Pass was made free, with which players can obtain Battlefield 6 items. Players can get Battlefield 6 items by completing the Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass All the Battlefield 6 rewards will be available in the game when it will launch. | Image via Epic Games. The new 9.2.0 update has added numerous fan-favorite contents in Battlefield 2042, like the iconic Iwo Jima map from BF1942, BF1943, and BF5. Along with it, two brand new weapons and two new vehicles have been added as well. But the highlight of this update has to be the Premium Battle Pass which has been absolutely free for all players, starting from August 18 to October 7, 2025. The most exciting part of this Battle Pass is that players can unlock rewards for Battle Pass 6, which will be reflected directly into the game when you launch it on October 10. The new season in Battlefield 2042 is dedicated to Battlefield 6 itself as it's named 'Road to Battlefield 6.' This season's Battle Pass features a total of 60 tiers, and out of those tiers, there are a total of six rewards which are outlined red, which are actual Battlefield 6 items. Another exciting thing is that all those six rewards along with the associated items are inspired from various Battlefield titles. Here are they: Tier Level to Reach Reward Item Type Inspired From 8 Western Front Weapon Skin Battlefield 1 19 Muller Weapon Skin Battlefield V 30 Aurora Vehicle Skin Battlefield Bad Company 2 40 Blackburn Vehicle Skin Battlefield 3 49 Commander Soldier Skin Battlefield 4 60 Sovereign Soldier Soldier Skin Battlefield 2042 However, the Battle Pass might be free, but players still need to grind hard to farm XP in order to reach certain tiers and unlock those rewards. That means, DICE really wants players to spend the time period until Battlefield 6, by sticking their heads into Battlefield 2042. And as a reason for that, Battlefield 2042 has recently achieved a huge player count after so many years. Read More: Why is Battlefield 2042 player count going up? Every Battlefield 2042 perk players can enjoy until Battlefield 6 gets released
Image via DICE. Battlefield 6 open beta has come to an end but that doesn't mean the fun should stop as well. That is why its predecessor, Battlefield 2042 has come up with some exciting in-game benefits which will make the fans hooked with it, despite its disastrous performance in the past. The main job of DICE was to bring back the lost faith in long-standing fans of this iconic franchise after what happened to Battlefield 2042. And it seems the job is well done, as the open beta phase of BF6 was able to stack a staggering player count of over half-a-million players. Battlefield 2042 introduces new content along with free Battle Pass The popular Iwo Jima map is now available in Battlefield 2042. | Image via DICE. Whenever the developers will look in the past of the golden era of the Battlefield franchise, one thought will always disappoint them, and that is Battlefield 2042. This game was a huge setback for the franchise from the very beginning of its launch - bugs and performance woes, missing core features like a single player mode and customization options, less emphasis on community suggestions - it was infested with a myriad of issues. Times have changed and the game was able to stand tall again beyond its tragic past but to a certain extent. Players started engaging with the game but they never treated it like a Battlefield title. However, now it might be the perfect time to reconnect with the game once again as it has received a surprise update out of nowhere. In the new 9.2.0 update of Battlefield 2042, players will be able to play in the iconic Iwo Jima map, which was seen in BF1942, BF1943, and BF5. Not only that, two brand new weapons - the KFS2000 Assault Rifle and the Lynx Sniper Rifle have been added as well. Along with it, two new vehicles, the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot have been introduced too. The fun doesn't end here. The developers have also made the premium Battle Pass in Battlefield 2042 absolutely free, starting from August 18 to October 7, 2025. That means DICE and EA really want the players to stick to Battlefield 2042 till the release of Battlefield 6, which is launching on October 10, 2025.
